"So, are we just going to keep wasting time with them?" Lisa asked, glancing up at Ethan Wells.
Mia also turned her gaze toward Ethan.
Ethan smiled faintly and said with a meaningful tone, "With our current strength, we're still a little short of completely defeating the Meteor Pursuit Team, but we can still deal with them."
Seeing Ethan's confident smile, Lisa and Mia — both familiar with his tactics — felt a sudden sense of anticipation. Could this be his strategy to turn the situation in their favor?
On the Ground...
Meanwhile, on the ground, the Meteor Pursuit Team remained on high alert. They were prepared for Ethan to either descend suddenly for an ambush or attempt an escape from the sky.
As the team's tracker, Kevin kept his eyes fixed on the projection screen in front of him, watching for any sudden movement. He knew that losing focus, even for a moment, could be disastrous.
"It's moving again! The target is rising... No, wait — the target is moving quickly in this direction!"
After a brief pause, the blinking red dot on Kevin's screen suddenly shifted — not only ascending but also rapidly moving in one direction.
Upon noticing this change, Kevin quickly shouted a warning and pointed in the direction the signal indicated.
"Chase!"
Antonio didn't hesitate for a second. After confirming the direction Kevin pointed, he released his grip on his sword's hilt and charged forward, leading the team.
"Looks like they've spotted us and are trying to escape. Dream on!"
"Quick! Don't let them gain distance!"
"If that guy dares to come down, I'll skin him alive!"
Following Antonio's lead, the rest of the Meteor Pursuit Team — including Kevin — shouted and raced forward in pursuit.
The Chase
One group above, one below. One fleeing, one pursuing.
The chase continued for far longer than the Meteor Pursuit Team had anticipated — lasting for an entire day.
By the time the pursuit reached its conclusion, they had traveled far from Meteor Street and arrived at a city called Kavos.
"Stop! The target has stopped!"
After following the signal all the way into Kavos City, Kevin suddenly called out to the others, signaling for them to halt. The tracking data had shifted again.
On the projection screen created by Kevin's Nen, the flashing red dot — though still high in the sky — had suddenly stopped moving.
Huff... Huff...
The Meteor Pursuit Team found themselves standing in the middle of a busy street in Kavos City.
Although it was nighttime, the streets were still bustling with pedestrians, and storefronts on both sides glowed dimly under the flickering city lights.
Breathing heavily from the exhausting day-long chase, the Meteor Pursuit Team paused to catch their breath.
Despite the curious stares from passersby, none of them cared. The group remained focused on their objective.
"Damn it!" one of the team members cursed. "What's with this guy? He's been in the sky for three days straight — how can he still have enough mental energy to keep going for this long? Does his flying ability not consume any Nen energy at all?"
"And what's with this sudden stop?" another asked. "Why would they stop now?"
Confusion lingered as the Meteor Pursuit Team contemplated their next move.
