There, on top of one of the huge trees, more specifically the very one that the two flying beings were heading towards on their crash-course, stood a relatively small figure, one that was clad into a kind of wooden pelt, each and every single hair created with utmost care, or more likely with utmost mastery over that kind of magic, it was as if they were all seperately cut, as if each of them were carved with utmost mastery over magic, and then there were countless smaller weapons hidden beneath it, that, the two of them were almost certain of.
The being that stood there resembled the same species that they currently were, nameless a ehetrian without wings, it seemed to be about as powerful as the mage though, and added to it there was the fact that this one looked similar as well, though it was quite difficult to tell when one didn't know the colour of the skin, the colour of the hair, or so much more was.
It had a small, tight ponytail that resembled the spitting image of a hunter, especially with the loose but practical clothes that were directly under its cloak made out of the pelt and added on to the pants that were of the same type and still mostly hidden by that very same pelt that was cut around the legs in a specific way.
The hunter, as they presumed, was looking at them with great hunger, emphasized even more so by his stature and the way it was carrying itself, it looked as if he was hunting in a similar to the way the trolls had been hunting them, it was just that his one didn't really try to lower themselves, or even to hide himself, it was as if he was confident enough to at least incapacitate them, and perhaps the thing was right about that, especially seeing as it was as powerful as the mage in relation to its rank, but luckily not in relation towards its magic abilities as far as they could tell.
But regardless of how the being looked and how it was carrying itself the being now wielded a bow in its hands that it had previously worn on its back, perhaps stuck in a special apparatus for this purpose.
It leisurely pulled the bowstring back and soon after an arrow made of wood appeared within the beautifully made simple bow it shot towards Cades, soaring through the air and causing a shockwave to shoot towards the place, though it did lose a lot of its speed when it came closer, at the same time they could finally see that the arrow was endowed with a magical power, the magical power of force, the enchantment basically caused the arrow to be driven forward by a telekinetic power that greatly enhanced both strength and speed of the weapon and its ammunition, in this case arrows.
And now the two had to handle the situation as quick as they possibly could, luckily the arrow had been aimed at the worse of the two opponents from the side of their opponent, Cades, and as such the two instinctively knew what to do, and the link between their minds that persisted even to this moment, and in all likelihood far beyond that, caused them to do one thing, it cause the two to let go of each others wrist, so that Cades fell down and the hunter started to hunt after him while spears shot out of another direction towards the archer that had now gained quite a lot of manoeuvrability on top of his already limited but still quite great manoeuvrability.
But rather than that they truly focused on Cades who fell for just a few seconds before crashing into the earthen ground and rolling away to try and lower the impact of the height that wouldn't have really impacted him severely either way.
And as such he landed on the ground, evading the thick ocean of green trees by some way and standing high, looking at the enemy that had already slowly fallen down in front of him, either demonstrating his magical control and showing just how much he had trained his body in relation to it, or perhaps just demonstrating how he had been created out of wood itself.
Slowly walking towards Cades who now stood at his full height, attentively looking at the growing threat of the slowly nearing hunter, a threat so great that he couldn't exactly find out how to classify it and began to feel fear for the first time in quite a short while, an understandable thing when taking into account everything that had been happening until now.
While the hunter was walking he held his bow leisurely in his left hand, but as soon as Cades looked at that there was an arrow shooting at him, it was slow and without any enchantment, but once it touched something that thing began to burn, luckily he deflected it, but it was exhausting, the arrows were much heavier than expected, ironic when taking into account that the archer looked quite weak when it came to his physical appearance, something that Cades knew for certain to be completely false.
The picture that many people had of an archer was a beautiful man or woman pulling strings on a even more beautiful bow, but in truth these bows were made to be incredibly sturdy and hard to pull, just so that the force behind each and every single arrow could be that much greater, this often resulted in archers being much, much stronger than they looked, or were even just perceived at, it's just that their bodies were often covered since they had to hunt from afar and it was quite smart to hide from animals of prey and animals of the hunt both.
But now the hunter had pulled out his bow and was so close to Cades that he could probably arrive there within just a few seconds, as such he began sprinting forward, trying to cover the last two hundred foot in a few simple leaps.
