As the evening sun cast its warm glow over the castle, the Pattons prepared for the grand gathering. Mrs. Patton, Olivia, and Matt were busy getting dressed and ready, while Drae was nowhere to be found.
Drae however, had other plans. She had grown tired of the library and decided to take a detour. She climbed up the patio and hopped over to the weaponry training area, where she watched the knights train over the west wing of the castle.
The sound of clashing steel and the grunts of exertion filled the air as Drae observed the knights with fascination. She had always been drawn to the art of combat, and watching the knights train was exhilarating.
As she watched, a figure caught her eye. A man, he didn't dress as a night more in a casual wear but it screamed luxury however she taught how long has this man being watching her, was she in trouble giving him a menacing gaze, stood apart from the others. He didn't seem to be training with them, but rather observing her.
Drae felt a shiver run down her spine as the knight's gaze met hers. He was cold in nature, but there was a hint of excitement in his eyes. Drae's heart skipped a beat as he approached her.
"You're quite the adventurous one, aren't you?" he said, his voice low and smooth. I was told it was abominable for a lady to stare off men especially half dressed men also when do you plan to get off the shed, away from your parents to watch the knights train tsk, tsk wonder what the governess would say.
Drae felt a flush rise to her cheeks. "I...I was just curious," she stammered.
The man chuckled, his eyes glinting with amusement.
Curiosity can be a dangerous thing, my lady. But I must say, I'm intrigued.
Drae's instincts told her to leave, but the man's gaze held her captive.
I should probably get back to my parents, she said, trying to sound firm.
The man nodded, but didn't move.
Of course, my lady. Though I must admit, I'm intrigued .
At what she spoke deadpan.
This time she made her way off the shed and walked down to the lowest side of the patio, he stood over her which made her shriek at sudden proximity but couldn't move.
Drae's heart racing, she tried to step back, but the knight's eyes seemed to hold her in place. She stared up at him, he was young and wore an embroidered cloth mask which covered from his nose to his jaw, a nose mask, she wasn't insane when noticed the librarian, this one had an abnormal iris, one looking crescent like amber in colour and the other normal, it was red or was she mistaken. The man's beauty radiated out of his mask even with the head piece that heed away his hair but trace of silver like strands could be seen
Please, she said, her voice barely above a whisper. I really must go now.
The knight's gaze lingered on her for a moment before he nodded. Very well, my lady. But I hope it wouldn't cause trouble knowing your name.
The next moment she was no longer standing in front of him, she had made her way while he was distracted.
Interesting he said watching the figure scurry away
As Drae made her way back to her parents, she couldn't shake off the feeling that the knight's words were more than just a polite farewell.
Meanwhile, Mr. Patton had requested a lookout from a guarding guard across the castle. He was supposed to leave early to ensure his business shoes were perfect fits.
The guard, a burly man with a thick beard, nodded as Mr. Patton explained his request. I'll keep an eye out for you, sir. Don't worry, your shoes will be ready in time.
This little bear Mr Patton sighed in defeat and headed out
As Mr. Patton left, the guard couldn't help but wonder what kind of business required such attention to detail. He shrugged, returning to his post, keeping a watchful eye on the castle grounds.
As the evening wore on, whispers began to spread about a certain lady spying on the training knights. Drae's encounter with the cat-eyed lord remained a secret, but the rumor of her adventurous spirit spread like wildfire.
The Pattons, unaware of the whispers, prepared for the grand gathering, eager to make a good impression. Little did they know that Drae's actions would set off a chain of events that would spore the evening.
The grand gathering was just hours away, and the Pattons were ready to face whatever the evening might bring. But as they made their way to the grand hall, Drae couldn't help but wonder if she would see the cat-eyed man again.
The mystery surrounding the knight's identity and intentions only added to the excitement. Drae's heart skipped a beat as she thought about the possibility of meeting him again.
As the night unfolded, the Pattons would discover that the grand gathering was just the beginning of their adventure. The castle held a number and surprises, and Drae's encounter with the cat-eyed knight was only the start.
The Pattons' journey was about to take a dramatic turn, one that would test their courage, wit, and resolve. Drae had made her way back and an obvious scolding awaited her atlas, with her adventurous spirit and curious nature, was at the forefront of it all.
The grand gathering loomed ahead, a night of music, dance, and merriment. But for Drae, it was more than that. It was a chance to uncover the secrets of the castle, to explore the unknown, and to follow her heart.
As the Pattons made their way to the grand hall, the sound of music and laughter filled the air. Drae's heart beat faster, anticipation and excitement building up inside her.
The night was the beginning of many adventures, soon they stepped into the hall after being dropped from the carriage, Olivia held her head eyes, she was indeed a beautiful lady, beside her was Lady Lydia also a beauty woman was not a day older, she looked more to her daughter as a sister behind them stood Drae and Matt they trailed after, Matt looked smart and soon ran off to another aisle to a room allocated for young masters. Drae stood idle behind fiddling with her kerchief
