"Well, I'm not going to do that!" Harry exclaimed. "I know! I'll give this to Fred and George when I get back to school. They prank everybody and their pranks aren't mean and they're not always directed at the same person."
Severus rolled his eyes. "If you must." But he did have to admit that Fred and George were nothing like the Marauders. True, they liked to prank people and professors were not exempt, but they never pranked the same people continuously, deliberately humiliated anyone, or put them in the hospital wing as the Marauders had.
Harry yawned. He still wasn't quite use to his physical changes yet. "I think I'm going up to bed." He gave his mother a hug. "Happy Christmas, Mum."
"Happy Christmas," Lily replied returning his hug and giving him a kiss. "Pleasant dreams."
"Happy Christmas, Harry," Severus said giving him a hug.
"Happy Christmas, Dad," Harry replied giving Severus a hug. "And thanks for brewing the Blood Adoption potion for me."
"You are welcome, Harry." Severus replied with a smile. "Happy Christmas."
After Harry had gone to bed, Severus and Lily sat up talking. "I can't believe Black gave him that. What's it going to take to make him and Potter realize that Harry's not a Marauder clone?" Lily asked.
"They are going to believe it no matter what proof they are presented with."
"I hope seeing Harry the way he is now will show them the truth!"
"That would be nice, but I am not going to hold my breath."
"I guess we'd better be getting to bed too. Harry will probably be up first thing tomorrow."
"Being that this is his first Christmas sans the Dursley's, he will be really excited I am sure. I forgot to ask you; is your room satisfactory?"
"It's wonderful, Sev! I feel as if I'm staying at Buckingham Palace…only better."
"Good! If you need anything, you know to ask the elves?"
"Yes."
They went upstairs and before adjourning to their bedrooms, Severus and Lily checked on Harry. He was sound asleep, snuggled down under the down comforter on his bed.
"Did I ever tell you how I found Harry to deliver his Hogwarts letter?"
"No, I know he said Petunia and Vernon had left their home trying to avoid the Hogwarts letters that kept coming.
"Yes, they had taken refuge in this two-story shack in the North Sea off the coast of Norwich. You came to me in a dream and asked me to rescue Harry and showed me where he was."
"I did?" Lily asked mystified. "I don't remember anything about that time, but then I guess you're not supposed to."
"I brought Harry here after I took him away from Petunia because the weather was bad and this was a lot closer than flying back to Hogwarts."
"Well, you've done a remarkable job with him, Sev."
"He is an easy child to raise and has not given me any trouble, but I suppose in a few years it might be a different story."
"If you remember how we were at thirteen and fourteen," Lily remarked.
Severus grinned. "All too well!"
After saying goodnight and wishing each other a Happy Christmas, Severus and Lily went to bed.
Harry woke up at the crack of dawn. He got on his robe and slippers and went next door to wake his mum and then across the hall to wake his dad. They all went downstairs together, into the living room. "Why don't I hand out the presents?" Severus suggested. He knelt down under the tree and began calling out the names from the tags on the presents. When he was finished, they each had a pile of presents to open.
Harry ripped the wrapping paper off his presents enthusiastically. Severus smiled as he watched him. He got that from his mum. Severus began opening his presents, but at a more sedate pace while Lily, like Harry, tore the ribbons and wrapping paper off hers.
Harry ended with a lot of new clothes, slacks, jeans, jumpers and T-shirts. Severus was thankful he had the forethought to have a two-year growing charm cast on them. He also had gotten a book from Hermione, a big bar of Honeydukes chocolate from Millie, a Lunascope from Vince, a book on Potions from Draco and clothes from Uncle Luc and Aunt Cissa. Greg had given him a book entitled 'History of the Magical World: From Merlin to Now' while Neville had given him a strikingly beautiful plant called a Rainbow Reflection that had all different colored leaves, Theo and Dean had teamed up and gotten him a box of chocolate frogs and cauldron cakes.
Lily loved the clothes that Severus had bought her from Twilford and Tatting's. They were silk and in colors that complimented her hair and eyes. She also loved the Charms book Harry had bought for her. Lucius and Narcissa had given her gift certificates to a wizarding spa and to a new restaurant that had opened in Diagon Alley with a suggestion that she might want to take Severus with her.
One of the gifts Severus received from Lily was the book, 'Moste Ancient Potions' that was about the scrolls wizarding archeologist had found in a cave in Wales that was thought to have been where Merlin had lived and had been translated. Severus was excited to start reading it, wondering if Merlin had any thoughts on the human brain. She'd also given him a set of crystal, gold, and silver stirrers From Harry, he'd gotten a wooden box filled with potion ingredients and a set of glass canisters to keep them in.
Harry opened his last two presents. One was from James and was a helmet, knee and elbow pads, and gloves for Quidditch. The second box contained a chest with six books entitled, 'Simple Defense', volumes 1-6 and was from Remus."What am I supposed to do with these?" He asked pointing at the Quidditch gear. "I have no interest in trying out for the Quidditch team next year. I like riding a broom with you, Dad, but I'm not into competitive sports."
"I think James is trying to influence you to be like him," Severus replied, frowning at the gear.
