"I know! Vince was saying that he wants to try out for a Beater position on the Hufflepuff team next year. I'll give these to him because I don't think his family has a lot of money and it would probably be hard for them to have to buy those things for him."
"That's very nice of you, Harry," Lily said.
"Well," Harry shrugged. "It looks really expensive so somebody should get some use out of it." He looked under the tree and noticed there was still one package, wrapped in silvery paper and tied with string. He pointed at it and asked, "Who does that belong to?"
Severus was still sitting on the floor by the tree, reached under it and grabbed the package. There was a note with it addressed to Harry. Severus immediately recognized the headmaster's handwriting. "It is yours from Professor Dumbledore," he replied giving it to Harry.
Harry read the note, 'This was loaned to me by your father. Use it well. He untied the string and pushed the paper apart to pull out what looked like a cloak of some sort. "Why would the headmaster give me another cloak? He must know I have a lot of clothes by now."
"I know what that is. It's Potter's invisibility cloak. He loaned it to Professor Dumbledore some time before Halloween," Lily snapped. "Why on earth did he give it to you instead of giving it back to Potter?"
"Take it easy, Lily," Severus said. "We will return it to the headmaster when we get back to Hogwarts and he can give it back to Potter. In the meantime, we will just ignore it." Severus said using his wand to start cleaning up the wrapping paper and ribbons lying around. Tita came in to announce that breakfast was ready. "Mr. Severus, the elves has asked me to say thank you for our Christmas gifts. Everyone is being very pleased with them."
"Tell them they are very welcome, Tita."
She gave a small bow and popped out again. Severus, Lily, and Harry walked into the dining room where a full English breakfast was laid out on the table. After breakfast, Severus took Harry into the library and introduced him to his grandparents.
"Severus, he looks so much like you," Audra said.
"I adopted Harry in August and then he decided he wanted to be blood adopted too so we did the blood adoption potion two days ago," Severus explained.
"You will need to take Harry outside and make sure the wards will accept him as your heir," Tiberius advised him. "But I must say I'm looking forward to getting to know my new great-grandson."
"As am I," Audra added.
"I'm going to take Harry outside and deal with the wards. He can come back and visit you later as we are going to be here for three more days.
"Please do, Harry. I'm anxious to hear what you think about Ravenclaw. I was sorted there too," Audra said.
As they left the library, Severus grinned. "You have got something in common with your great-grandmother already."
"You mean we both were sorted into Ravenclaw?"
"Yes, she's very proud of that fact." Severus said as they got dressed to go outside. "My grandfather was sorted into Slytherin as has been the majority of Princes." They went outside and Severus unlocked the gate. They stepped outside the gate and he relocked it with the moonstone pendant.
"Dad, I can see the house now from here and I couldn't before," Harry said excitedly.
"Good. Now put your hand on the gate right here," Severus directed.
Harry did as his dad instructed and in a moment, a bright light surrounded his hand which then turned blue and finally gold.
"Alright the wards have accepted you as my heir and once I pass through the veil, this manor will pass to you," Severus explained, holding out the moonstone pendant.
"Along time from now," Harry replied.
They went back inside and since Harry had finished his homework, he decided to go and spend some more time with his great-grandparents.
"Everything went alright with your grandparents and the wards?" Lily asked.
"Yes, very well."
They stayed for three more days after Christmas and then paid a brief visit to Spinner's End so Lily and Harry could see it. Severus, Lily, and Harry went for a walk around the neighborhood and Lily showed him the house she had grown up in, the park where she'd first met Severus, and he had first told her she was a witch.
They returned to Hogwarts two days before New Year's Eve. After getting unpacked and making sure Keb, Isis and Hedwig were comfortable, Harry asked if they could fire-call the Malfoy's and attend the movie that evening. Severus fire-called Luc and they made a date to meet at the Leaky Cauldron at 5:30 the next evening. They would be going to McDonalds for a casual meal and then go to the movie.
"I can't wait to see Draco and see what he got for Christmas," Harry said. He was going to spend the rest of the holidays in the dungeon until January 2nd when the rest of the students would be returning.
Luc was very impressed with Muggle technology when he came out of the movie. "That was quite amazing! Those scenes on Captain Hook's ship almost made me seasick; it was so realistic!"
January 2nd rolled around all too soon and Harry returned to Ravenclaw Tower to await the arrival of the rest of his friends.
Severus walked in and sat down at the staff table. He nodded at Remus. As the children began to arrive from Hogsmeade and walk into the Great Hall, Severus saw Harry walk in with his group of friends and sit down at the Hufflepuff table. Lily walked in behind them and sat down with them. She wasn't about to miss Dumbledore's reaction to Harry's new appearance.
Dumbledore's eyes widened as he saw Harry and he lurched to his feet. He turned to Severus with a cold look in his eyes. "How dare you blood adopt Harry without his father's permission!"
