Zyran dropped his hand from Mila's neck, he nodded slowly, more to himself than to Mila. Two slow steps, he moved away from her and gave Mila space to walk away.
Clearing her throat, Mila clutched her handbag tightly before leaving. She didn't dare turn back or she might regret her decisions. Mila's entire body, even her fingers, betrayed her. She had to rub her palm against her shirt to stop them from getting sweaty.
She rejected Zyran! She had just rejected Zyran!
Mila chanted in her head as she walked down the hallway, not paying attention to what was happening around her or even the people who turned to look at her. All she could think of at the moment was Zyran's cologne, his hand around her neck, and the look in his eyes.
