Chapter 2 - Chapter 2 What's So Funny?

...

It had already been the fifth day since the soul possession.

Chu Feng was currently sitting in the Alchemy Dao Lecture Hall, ready to attend class.

In this world, Pill Masters hold an extremely esteemed status. Almost every wealthy family ensures their children enter the Alchemy Academy to study alchemy. Even becoming a mere First-grade Alchemist guarantees a life of luxury and endless riches.

"Chu Feng is the Eternal Life Pill Master—who in this insignificant Jianyun Dynasty is worthy of teaching him alchemy, let alone being his teacher?"

Asking him to sit here in class is akin to a Ph.D. sitting among elementary school students.

There were over forty students in the class, every one of them from wealthy families.

Either they were sons of princes or grandchildren of ministers and generals, or perhaps even commandery princesses or noble ladies.

Soon, a young female teacher with elegant features and fair skin walked into the classroom holding test papers.

She had a tall figure, a charming face—undeniably a stunning beauty.

"Wow, so beautiful!" Chu Feng couldn't help but silently praise her.

Her expression was icy, her brows carried a hint of malice, and her entire demeanor exuded a chilling killing aura that made one's heart tremble. "Teacher Xie Bing is here, sit properly!" The students in the class instinctively sat upright one after another.

They appeared quite fearful of Teacher Xie Bing.

"Bang!"

She slammed the test papers onto the lectern with force, her face filled with fury as she yelled, "How on earth have you been studying? Among the five low-grade classes of Alchemy Academy, ours performed the worst in the midterm exams, ranking dead last overall!"

"The Headmaster called me in for a harsh scolding…"

She kept ranting angrily from the lectern, venting all her grievances from the Headmaster onto these unmotivated students.

Chu Feng quickly noticed something new and intriguing—the teacher's pants had a large stain of dirt, and she hadn't realized it.

Of course, this was partially due to Chu Feng's seating position.

He happened to sit in the front row, angled slightly to her side, allowing him to see a bit of her rear side.

"This is too damaging to her image—should I tell the teacher or not?"

He couldn't help but reveal a hesitant expression on his face, though the corners of his lips carried a smile.

A cold and arrogant young man sitting behind Chu Feng noticed his audacity to laugh under such circumstances and froze for a moment before revealing a schadenfreude-filled expression, clearly anticipating a show.

"Chu Feng, this idiot, sure is reckless!"

"Does he even realize who's standing at the lectern? That's spicy-tempered Xie Bing! She's furious, and yet he dares to laugh beneath her—does he have a death wish?"

"Heh, I should help this fool draw Teacher Xie Bing's attention to him so he can perish faster!"

The cold and arrogant young man, Liu Ping, a prince from another manor, outwardly seemed friendly with Chu Feng but was actually full of malice.

Liu Ping sneered and deliberately let his pen drop to the ground, creating a noise.

Xie Bing's sharp gaze instantly locked onto him.

Her mood was already terrible, and as she scolded her failing students from the lectern, someone dared to grin at her. That, too, happened to be the infamous bad student.

How vile! How outrageous!

"Whoosh!"

A piece of charcoal flew from her hand with frightening accuracy. With Sword Master First Level cultivation, Xie Bing could easily injure someone with a falling leaf.

The charcoal she flicked in anger had astonishing power.

At the very least, it could leave a lump on the insolent fellow who dared disrespect, ridicule, and challenge her authority.

Chu Feng was still debating whether to inform Teacher Xie.

Suddenly, he sensed a chilling killing intent locking onto him, followed instantly by an incoming projectile.

In his past life, he hadn't just been the Alchemy Venerate—his Sword Dao cultivation wasn't weak either.

Instinctively, he tilted his head, narrowly dodging the attack.

The piece of charcoal narrowly brushed past his hair and landed with a "pop" on the unfortunate soul sitting behind Chu Feng.

"Sigh, this body really is too weak. It apparently only has Sword Dao cultivation at Second or Third Level. I nearly couldn't dodge a projectile tossed by a mere Beginner Level Sword Master!"

Chu Feng shook his head repeatedly, feeling quite dissatisfied with the body he had taken over.

Liu Ping, who was waiting to see Chu Feng get reprimanded by Teacher Xie Bing, was suddenly struck by misfortune. He hadn't expected Chu Feng—a mere Sword Dao Second Level weakling—to actually dodge Xie Bing's projectile.

"Ouch!"

The piece of charcoal hit Liu Ping squarely on the forehead—just a little lower, and it would have struck his eye.

He cried out in pain, touched his forehead, and felt a massive lump swelling up.

Talk about backfiring plans.

Xie Bing's face briefly revealed a hint of surprise—Chu Feng had clearly been staring, seemingly entranced. Yet he managed to dodge her projectile aimed to teach him a lesson. It was downright unbelievable.

As for accidentally hitting Liu Ping, there was no way her pride would allow her to admit fault.

Liu Ping had taken the hit in vain.

"Chu Feng, you have the nerve to laugh down there?"

"Do you know that of the two top rankings in this midterm exam, you managed to grab one?"

"But instead of earning the top rank, you've managed to claim dead-last for three consecutive exams. Scoring so poorly, you still have the guts to laugh? What's so funny?"

Xie Bing was absolutely livid—this guy was beyond brazen.

Grabbing dead-last ranking, getting scolded, and still smiling so carefreely—it was maddening.

She had never encountered such a shameless student.

"Speak up. What's so funny?" Xie Bing's roar shook the classroom.

The other students were trembling, too afraid to even breathe loudly, all casting pitiful glances at Chu Feng. This time, Chu Feng was definitely doomed—at the very least, he'd end up bedridden for half a month after taking a beating from Teacher Xie Bing.
