IAN
I was seconds away from tearing into Nyx, my voice coiled and ready to strike, when something in the air shifted thick and suffocating, like smoke curling before a wildfire. I didn't need anyone to tell me. That presence sharp, commanding, ancient could only belong to one man.
(Rayden is here) Kane said in one breath.
My chest tightened. If this was happening now, if he stepped foot into my territory so soon. Emma would be in danger. And I wasn't going to let that happen.
"You already invited your father to the pack?" I hissed, eyes narrowing as I turned to Nyx.
She smiled, smug, vile, and victorious. "Of course. It's only fair that he sees what you have been hiding."
I didn't waste another breath. "Theo!"
He appeared almost instantly, shadows curling around him like smoke responding to a command.
His eyes locked on mine, reading the urgency written all over me. He didn't ask questions like always, he knew.
