Cherreads

Chapter 102 - 91

"Is this really necessary?"

Staring at the hovercar parked on the rooftop, Alex Carter's eye twitched uncontrollably.

A Rayfield Excalibur.

Forget the Sword in the Stone or the Lady of the Lake's blade—when it came to luxury vehicles, they were nothing compared to this.

The world's top private hovercar.

And all because Alex had casually mentioned, "My car only has two seats."

In response, Liana Forrest smugly brought out this extravagant ride.

"Well? My car's got four seats—good enough for you?" Liana grinned as she proudly patted the sleek frame of the Excalibur, like she'd just won some kind of trophy.

Alex sighed in defeat.

If it weren't for Kang Tao's recent help with the Aldecaldos, he'd probably have told this annoying girl to get lost by now.

While the three of them bickered, Shockwave—Alex's trusty AI vehicle—silently drove out of the garage on its own.

A mechanical arm extended from its body, equipped with a scanner at the top.

With a quick blue light scan, Shockwave finished analyzing the Excalibur without triggering any alarms from the hovercar's security system.

Even Alex himself didn't know what was happening in his own garage.

Within seconds, the sleek metallic form of Shockwave, originally designed to resemble the Lady of the Lake's blade, shifted with a mechanical grind.

Its body morphed and reformed until it mimicked the Excalibur's sleek design.

For Transformers, having a superior second form wasn't just about improving combat ability.

It was like putting on a flawless designer suit—a statement of power and status.

And Shockwave had just claimed his own.

That evening, the chaos finally died down.

Meanwhile, Liana kept whispering to V, giggling about who-knows-what.

Eventually, the Excalibur rose from the rooftop and hovered away.

Alex didn't ask.

At this point, he'd learned to just let Liana do whatever she wanted—as long as she wasn't putting him or V in danger.

If he kept paying her too much attention, he figured he'd lose his mind.

The three of them climbed into the Excalibur and headed toward Judy's place.

Noticing the missing suitcase from this morning, Alex asked suspiciously,

"What's in that?"

"A gift for Judy," Liana replied casually.

"A gift?"

Alex frowned.

"Does everyone in your family just throw money around like this? Are you all rich idiots?"

"Do you even know her well enough to be giving her gifts? First your mom, now you…"

"Rain girl has no melon," Liana muttered, turning her head away with a pout.

Alex couldn't even be bothered to argue anymore.

In less than ten minutes, the Excalibur arrived outside Judy's apartment complex.

The luxurious hovercar immediately drew attention.

But no one dared to approach—not even the local gang members.

They knew better.

Anyone wealthy enough to own a ride like that was not someone you wanted to mess with.

Crossing a person like that? It was a one-way ticket to a quick and painful death.

Under the watchful eyes of the crowd, the three of them stepped out of the car and walked toward Judy's apartment building.

Jackie's motorcycle was parked outside.

It seemed he was already there.

They went upstairs and knocked on the door.

"Alex, V, you made it—huh? Who's this?"

Jackie, who had answered the door, looked puzzled.

Before Alex could introduce her, Liana stepped forward confidently.

"You're Jackie, right? Hi! I'm Liana Forrest.
