Chapter 31 - Death Arms Unleashed – The Battle of Shadows and Steel

Keilan vs. Tian Zhen: A Rematch to the Death

The battlefield was a maelstrom of steel, blood, and power. The scent of ozone from Raikai's lightning clashed with the heavy scent of crushed earth from the fallen trees. Screams of warriors echoed as blades clashed, bodies fell, and the clash of titanic forces shook the very air.

At the heart of the chaos, Shin Keilan and Tian Zhen stood across from each other.

The last time they fought, Keilan had underestimated him. Not this time.

Tian Zhen sneered, his obsidian-heavy sword resting on his shoulder. His Death Arms, a blackened greatsword, pulsed with eerie shadows, as if it could swallow light itself.

Keilan's Death Arms—**his Phantom Step Boots—**glowed faintly beneath him. The moment he shifted his stance, he vanished.

BOOM!

Keilan reappeared behind Tian Zhen, his heel crashing toward his skull.

CLANG!

Tian Zhen twisted, raising his heavy sword in time. Sparks erupted as Keilan's reinforced kick met the steel.

"You think you can beat me this time?" Tian Zhen growled, his eyes filled with killing intent.

Keilan smirked. "No, I know I can."

Without hesitation, Keilan vanished again.

Tian Zhen swung wildly, his sword creating a vacuum as it cut through the air—but Keilan was already gone.

SHADOW STEP!

Keilan reappeared at Tian Zhen's side, his leg whipping forward like a blur.

This time—it connected.

CRACK!

Tian Zhen's ribs crunched under the impact, sending him skidding across the battlefield. He spat blood, but instead of falling, he roared.

"ENOUGH!"

His heavy sword pulsed, and black mist erupted around him.

Keilan's instincts screamed. A domain technique.

The world around them darkened. Shadows wrapped around Tian Zhen, strengthening him. His movements became faster, sharper. Keilan's speed advantage was slipping.

Tian Zhen smirked. "Now you can't run, rat."

Keilan exhaled. Fine. If he couldn't run, he'd end it now.

His boots pulsed with energy.

He shot forward.

Tian Zhen swung downward, his sword splitting the very ground.

Keilan tilted mid-air, sliding past the strike.

He spun, his heel coated in a thin veil of cutting wind— PHANTOM KICK!

The attack struck Tian Zhen's temple.

His head snapped back—teeth shattering.

But Keilan wasn't done.

He twisted in the air, his boots shifting energy from speed into raw power.

One more kick.

A final, decisive blow.

Keilan dropped down, axe-kicking Tian Zhen's skull into the ground.

BOOM!

The earth exploded beneath them.

Keilan landed softly, breathing heavily.

Tian Zhen did not rise. His sword faded. His skull caved in, his life gone.

Keilan smirked, wiping blood from his lips. "Told you."

The Others vs. the Flesh and Bone Forging Fighters

While Keilan finished his fight, the rest of the battlefield was chaos.

Shin Aoren stood in the center, his Eternal Spear spinning.

A group of enemies surrounded him—ten Flesh and Bone Fortification warriors.

One lunged forward, but Aoren didn't move—until the last second.

SWISH!

His spear curved in an impossible arc, slicing through three men at once.

Another charged, swinging an axe—Aoren stepped forward, thrusting through his throat.

Torra Yun fought beside him, his tonfas glowing.

One warrior punched forward, aiming for his ribs.

Torra Yun caught the blow on his tonfa, twisting the attack aside.

Then, with a spinning step, he slammed the blunt end of his tonfa into the man's ribs.

CRACK!

The warrior crumpled, screaming.

Meilen Zhen danced across the battlefield, her dual crossbows firing non-stop.

She leaped over an enemy's sword slash, landing on his shoulders—and fired two bolts into his skull.

She flipped off, spinning mid-air. Two more bolts struck warriors trying to rush her allies.

Xue Mor stood near the back, orchestrating the chaos.

She moved her fingers, wires flickering in the moonlight.

An enemy **lunged for her—**only to suddenly freeze.

Ice crept over his legs, locking him in place.

Before he could scream, Xue Mor **flicked her wrist—**and his throat was sliced open by an invisible wire.

Hou Jian and Hou Liang were relentless.

Hou Jian's burning sword cut through the enemies like wildfire. His roars echoed, rallying their forces.

Hou Liang, silent but deadly, executed enemies from the shadows.

Their orders were clear.

No one escapes.

As the battlefield descended into a bloodbath, only one truth remained.

Tonight—they sent a message.

The Obsidian Shadow Empire would not take them lightly again.
