"Aaahh! Ahhh!"
Aurora's cry echoed in the distance. Shinji was carrying her forcefully and returning her home.
She protested and fought back with all she got, but it wasn't enough to stop him.
"There's no way you're coming with me, this work is dangerous and I will not let you anywhere near it," Shinji said.
After a few useless attempts, she finally stopped resisting and accepted her faith.
On the way home, Shinji reflected on what happened today.
'I wasn't careful, if I only paid more attention or used my partial transformation this would've never happened.'
Beating himself up wasn't going to help, he just needed to become more aware so things like this don't happen in the future.
Arriving home, he dropped her off and canceled his vigilante work for the night.
Shinji thought about the people dying at this exact moment, he couldn't really bring himself to care, people died every day.
There was no way he'd let this wild girl alone without supervision.
He clicked his tongue in annoyance and sighed out of exhaustion.
Aurora seemed full of energy and ready to embark on a journey beating villains as she started throwing punches to the air out of nowhere.
'What am I going to do with this girl?' He asked himself.
He focused his attention on the girl and started speaking.
"Listen, Aurora, I know that you want to follow me to beat some villains but that can result very badly." He took a breather.
Aurora's attention was now fully on him.
"I can't protect you and defeat the villains at the same time, please, you gotta understand, it's for your own good."
Her head dropped and a sad expression made it to her face.
She then activated her quirk and directed it towards Shinji.
"Liar," she metaphorically said.
"I don't have the energy to deal with this right now." Shinji was starting to get sleepy.
He didn't know why as he was fine a second ago.
Taking the little girl up to her room, he watched her until she got tired but ended up falling asleep first.
When he woke up, she wasn't there.
Panicking, he rushed down the stairs to find her eating breakfast with her sister.
Miki looked at him strangely.
"Why are you here? You should have been in school like an hour ago," she said as a matter of fact.
Shinji slapped himself on the forehead and asked himself how could he sleep this much.
He rapidly got his belongings before rushing to school in a flash.
It took him a while to arrive there, when he did, his desire to go to school diminished.
The press was there crowding around the school and making a mess out of everything.
'Should I just stay home?' He thought to himself.
Shinji sighed and started walking in the direction of the school.
He stopped dead in his tracks as he heard a commotion, and saw reporters hurrying through the gates of the school.
His curiosity got the better of him and he followed the crowd of reporters.
'What is this all about?' He wondered.
Picking up his pace, he saw the destroyed door leading inside the school.
Shinji opened his eyes widely, 'how did this happen?'
Looking in front, he could see a blue haired man discreetly leaving the scene.
He then saw his professor appearing with Present Mic who explained the robot test a few days ago.
They started controlling the situation before he walked up to them and asked if he could go inside.
"I'm sorry kid but you'll have to wait until we resolve this situation over here." Present Mic said while throwing his hands in the air.
Shinji reluctantly stood aside and waited for the authorities to arrive.
The reporters kept pestering him about how his classes were with All Might but he didn't utter a word.
The look of annoyance in his face made the reporters feel uncomfortable.
Seeing his unmovable conviction to not speak, they stopped bothering him and focused their attention on the professors.
The authorities arrived after a while and forcefully escorted the press out of the installation.
It took some time, but it was finally done.
Shinji headed inside the building but was stopped by Aizawa.
"Kid, you have some explaining to do, why are you late? Also, did you see what happened?"
"I'm just late, I'm totally innocent. I saw some blue haired guy walking away if that helps."
Aizawa looked him straight in the eyes.
"I believe you."
Aizawa then asked for details on the person and Shinji pointed out what he noticed.
Seeing that there was no more conversation to be made, he stepped inside the building.
Making it to class, he saw everyone together discussing what happened.
His presence was quickly noticed and the students swarmed him from all directions.
"Dude, where were you?! You missed the entire thing." Kirishima yelled.
Shinji didn't focus on these people, he instead looked at Momo in the corner of the room.
He was brought back to life when he heard Midoriya's voice.
"Shinji, why are you late?"
"Had some stuff to do," he responded, "arrived to the sight of the press breaking in."
Things seemed strange today, but Shinji didn't know that they would be stranger tomorrow.
