In recent years, the Demon Realm had rapidly developed. On top of traditional buses, new ground transport like the Forest Line—a forest railway known as a train in the human realm—had been introduced.
The Black Dragon Wing was their aerial vehicle. Humans called it a plane, but no one in the Demon Realm understood that word, so they called it the Black Dragon Wing instead.
With these, travel was incredibly convenient. A trip from Black Dragon City to White Tiger City took only a single day by Black Dragon Wing.
Within the Black Dragon Clan, it was even faster—just one or two hours to reach anywhere.
Black Dragon Mouth, now a secondary Black Dragon City, had become the hub of demon transport. It housed the largest train station and airport of the clan.
It was the central transfer point to all other demon territories—and home to the factories that manufactured both the Black Dragon Wings and the Forest Line trains.
Gone were the days when messages traveled slowly and people could only meet twice a year.
But Eggy still sniffled.
"But… but I won't get to go home with Brother. I don't want you to go!"
Bai Baobao hugged him tight.
"Be good, little brother. I'll bring you tasty snacks from White Tiger City—it's got so many good things to eat!"
At the gate, Bai Buer was already impatient.
"Can you stop dawdling, little brother? Our flight's gonna be delayed!"
Eggy clutched his brother's sleeve desperately. Bai Baobao gently pried his hands off, planting a kiss on his forehead.
"I'll come back."
Eggy chased after him for a few steps, watching the car drive away, shrinking into a black dot in the distance before finally vanishing.
His little mouth quivered. Then he burst into tears with a loud "waaah!"
When Yin Jixue returned, Ruoshui reported that Eggy had lost his appetite.
"That's odd," Yin Jixue said. "Isn't he usually a bottomless pit? Why the sudden change?"
Lou Zhao, feeding his wife spoonfuls from a small bowl, didn't even look up.
"Let him be. That kid eats seven or eight meals a day—missing one won't starve him."
Ruoshui added, "The eldest young master left today. The little prince cried for ages and fell asleep. When he woke up, he didn't want to eat."
Yin Jixue shook her head with a soft smile.
"So that's why… They're close. Sharing meals, beds… it's going to be hard for them to be apart as they grow."
Lou Zhao muttered without lifting his gaze, "Crying again. No backbone. Bai Baobao's just gone for a few days—school starts soon and he'll be back."
Ruoshui's eyes widened.
She had been secretly protecting the little prince and had seen the tearful farewell firsthand. She thought Bai Baobao was gone for good!
Turns out he's just gone for a while?!
Maybe… she wouldn't tell the little prince. Let it be a surprise.
Yin Jixue shot Lou Zhao a glare.
"Where does our little Eggy lack backbone? He's loyal and affectionate—he's the best!"
Lou Zhao sighed, surrendering.
"Yeah, yeah, you're right."
After dinner, the couple went to check on their son. Eggy was curled up under the covers, quietly sobbing—making Yin Jixue's heart ache.
"Still crying? Come on, get up. Dinner's ready—we even made your favorite egg tarts. You can have an extra one today."
From under the covers came a loud gulp, echoing through the quiet palace.
Eggy poked his head out.
"Then when I graduate elementary school, I want to go to White Tiger City."
The way he said it—it was either that, or starve.
Yin Jixue had already planned to take him traveling after graduation, so she nodded without hesitation.
"Deal. Now come eat."
Eggy reached out his chubby little arms. But just as Yin Jixue was about to scoop him up, a powerful set of arms yanked him away mid-air.
Lou Zhao cradled him one-handed.
"You brat! We leave you alone for half a day, and you go on a hunger strike?"
Eggy flailed to escape, but his father had him by the back of the neck, and there was no escape.
"Mommy! Daddy's bullying a child!" he cried helplessly.
But Mommy didn't help at all.
Eggy's mind drifted to thoughts of his brother. When Daddy used to grab him like this, Brother would tiptoe up and snatch him away.
Thinking about it made his lip tremble again—he was ready to cry.
Lou Zhao acted fast—he clamped a hand over his son's mouth.
Eggy's big eyes widened. Father… how shameless! Just as the tears were about to fall, they got shoved right back in.

Without his big brother to play with, Eggy's true little devil nature finally emerged.
With no one to shield him, the tiny green dragon became a miniature chaos demon. Every three days, he was climbing rooftops or wrecking furniture. With no one left to take the blame, he quickly found himself being dragged to the study for punishment by dear old dad.
Lou Zhao lounged in a chair like a noble lord.
"Alright, tell me—why were you on the roof today?"
Eggy hung his head and twiddled his fingers.
"I just wanted to practice flying…"
Because once he learned how to fly, he'd go visit his brother in White Tiger City.
Lou Zhao scanned him from top to bottom and nodded with approval.
"Hmm, not bad. But jumping from high places made your mom worry. If you want to learn something, come to me. I'll teach you myself."
Eggy hadn't expected that—and immediately forgot all his guilt, beaming as he got ready to train.
…But it didn't go as he imagined.
What he didn't realize was—he was a chubby child, and flying was extra hard.
Lou Zhao was equally baffled. Why was his kid so bad at flying? Eggy flailed mid-air like a drowning bird, completely unable to hold himself up. He had inherited none of his dad's former grace and majesty.
Then Lou Zhao touched his son's soft belly… and everything made sense.
The old father sighed.
"Back in my day, I didn't even have the means to eat this much. If you want to fly, maybe grow a little taller first."
Eggy rubbed his round belly, looking pitiful.
