Leaving behind her childhood house she went through the forest.
That is the only way for her to go, the village she wanted to reach was not that distant but it would require some time to get there
Going through the forest is the only way, even though that means meeting with occasionals monsters wandering there.
Surely meeting some monsters would be a death certificate for someone, but to her it would only be a small encounter.
Not a hard encounter to say the least.
Only goblins wandered in that forest, and for someone like her, someone who trained her sword skills ever since she was a child, who has probably decided her future maybe too soon, it would not be a problem to her.
Maybe only if those small devils were united as a large group that would be considered a problem, but it has never been reported something like that, except in the Goblins Grove but she wasn't directed there
Still encountering a group of three or four goblins wasn't that uncommon, but not encountering any would be indeed a strange situation which should eventually be reported.
Luckily that wasn't the case…
Two hostile creatures appeared in front of her, with widely spread grin all over their face, their daggers made out of stone or anything else they could find, their lack of intellectual capacities that could only gave them a not so propter understanding on how to wield those weapons.
Everything that was visible gave what was their true nature…
A small beast only capable of going on using only their senses and instinct.
Their intentions were clear and they did nothing to hide them…
As one rushed towards the girl while being confident of winning the fight.
But that is their nature isn't it?
Not being able to understand if your enemy is stronger than you is indeed unfair.
The girl simply decided to send away the goblin with a simple kick, she could easily kill him with a slash but while not being sure of unsheathing her sword fast enough she decided to go with an easier option.
The goblin got sent towards a tree, strangely surviving the impact.
'The goblin survived?…'
Going closer to the other goblin, while finally having the sword in her hands she decapitated the goblin in a mere attack
The small monster tried to block it but it was pointless, the difference in her weapons and strength was simply unmatched by the mere goblin.
As soon as she killed the goblin, the girl felt a tiny bit stronger.
Of course it was thanks to the kill, but that sensation vanished not even a second later, it was only a goblin afterall…
If it was a different monster, a stronger one, that sensation would've been more pleasant and long lasting.
Walking to the last goblin her eyes were looking at the unconscious prey that stood below her, while watching the unfortunate beast she felt a sense of sorrow.
This was one of her problems, even against a beast she felt the sensation of cutting a life.
A problem she wanted to change about herself, but it's not that simple.
And using her sword again she took that life.
Everything she could do in that situation was killing the goblin with a single strike, not wanting to torture the unlucky life that once was in front of her.
But she had no time to waste so she took one crystal each from the corpse of the goblins and continued her journey.
With those two crystals she could easily sell them and get some money in return, while being from mere goblins the rewards wouldn't be large, probably not even enough to afford a simple dinner.
But decent enough for a start.
Even if killing goblins without even trying could be seen as a great accomplishment by a civilian, it wasn't really the case.
Goblins are weak, probably the weakest monster known to mankind, they are destined to perish in a battle.

Looking in front of her an entrance gate made out of wood was visible
'Finally I'm here, it felt like days'
Only five, maybe six, hours passed but to her it seemed way more.
Of course taking a journey with someone else would've been more enjoyable, but that wasn't her case.
Even if due to her nervousness and lack of sociability she wouldn't have talked much if someone was with her
She is more of a listener.
At the entrance of the gate two guards were watching by, making sure that no monsters would appear, they simply stood there.
They were probably two adventurers who took the job of guarding the village
Many prefers to protect rather than exploring and adventuring, surely a safer choice but that would stop their growth speed.
Many of the villages remaining are built in parts of the land where monsters wouldn't normally go, still it can happen.
Easily entering the village, the girl watched inside and pondered to herself
'Now where should I go? The adventurer guild should be somewhere close… I guess?' Gathering courage, she decided to ask some of the locals for directions
Not worried about what people thoughts of her, she was preoccupied to fumble something, after all she had no humans interactions for years
And even before that, it was only one person, but that person is long dead.
[...]
Reaching a wide building she was sure that this was the adventurers guild. A simply decorated facade was in front of her.
'Man… not sure i actually needed those directions'
It was probably true
The building stood vigorous, giving a sense of fierce many would have guessed that this was the right place by a mile
Even though she sensed it from a distance, not being completely sure was a problem, what if it wasn't and she just entered someone's house?
Sending those thoughts away she entered and a huge hall was inside,
Many adventurers were eating, joking, playing cards, forming parties, or simply deciding what mission was appropriate.
A few gazed at the ingress directing their eyes at the newcomer , some of them stared intensely at her silver eyes or at her face, many just glared back to her, but after some second everyone continued what they were doing.
Not sure of what to do she stood still for a moment, scanning through the hall searching for a beginners guide or something she could do, deciding to go forward in search of it.
Finally seeing a counter where on the opposite side a presumably secretary of the guild stood there, knowing what to do now she went there.
Watching the girl coming by the secretary said
"Good Afternoon, how may I help you?" a professional smile was
"Umh, I wanted to join this guild, do I have to compile some papers?"
"Indeed you have, just give me a minute and I'll be back" after saying this the secretary left momentarily, going through a door in search for those files, with that the girl was left one.
Searching for something to do she simply decided to scan the hall once again, watching useless stuff not knowing what to do, she saw how some torches were spread over the walls.
Turning her head to the entrance, the girl felt a sense of solace as she saw a group of people who seemed to be newcomers, her facial expression was probably the same as theirs when she entered, all of them insecure on what to do next.
Wondering a bit she heard some footsteps coming in her direction, the secretary came back.
"Alright, compile this with your personal information, it's only basical stuff so no need to worry" the employee surely saw through Helga's facade of trying to act calm.
As her sight passed to the paper she read some pretty basic questions about herself. Taking the pen from the counter she started answering what was needed.
Less than a minute and she was done then handled the paper back.
The secretary reached for the paper and started reading out loud to make sure there weren't any mistakes.
"So adventurer Helga, age 16, specialized in wind magic, you use a sword as a weapon, everything right?"
Then Helga answered with a bit of excitement hided in her voice
"Yes, everything is right"
"Then, welcome to the adventurer guild"
A sudden joy engulfed her
She now could take requests and getting paid well based on her true strength, form parties without worrying.
But her thoughts were interrupted by the sudden burst of the Guild entrance doors
A man probably in his thirties was the cause of that mess, in his face was easily written a sense of fear and exhaustion.
"THERE IS AN EMERGENCY"
