"He is just moody from the wine. Ignore it and have a seat," Kiera offered.
Taking her advice, Iris did as she was told, pouring herself more wine. It did not take long before Iris succumbed to the alluring pull of the alcohol, her drunken state kicking it quickly.
"That's it, time to go," Kiera informed her as she got their things ready.
By the time they were about to leave, Peter walked up to them, intercepting their path.
"Since she is drunk, it would be wrong putting all the work on you. Let me drive her home. I promise to take care of her."
"Hard pass," Kiera enunciated
"Thanks but no thanks, I can handle it from here," Kiera informed him and moved away from where he was.
She had made up her mind. She would not let Iris go anywhere with him. Though he didn't resist, his eyes shot daggers at Kiera, the hatred unabashedly clear. The moment Peter was out of earshot, Kiera dialled Carlos, Iris's brother and sent him their location.
