Chapter 11 - ACT 1.10: The White Room

In the trenches of the White Room, Genesis now with a tired expression on his face was walking through the invalid White Room.

He had searched for another day today. There were to many "another days". He held onto the hilt of his sword tightly as he thought he heard a noise. The amount of Agents attacking him were detrimental, but still he traveled alone, because he could not bear to let another companion die.

He held his sword, his grip tightening on the silver. Genesis had grown a lot over the past 3 months, a lot. He was one of the best swordsmen in the White Room worthy of the title, "Knight". He thought back on what he was once was and he marveled on how weak he was.

He had defeated countless Agents now, the previous him would be incoherent at the number. He was strong now, but was he strong enough to take on the White Room, who knee they hadn't even found its heart yet.

They knew the White Room was so vastly superior in size to them that not even their eyes could see it all. They could only guess were they were at in the body of the White Room. They guesses they were in it's stomach, which other place would bring food. Another clue was the Miasma of Malice they had hypothesised that the Miasma of Malice was the White Room's stomach acid, they had theories on why it stopped but could not answer them.

Genesis released his tension as he lightly kept his hand on his sword and walked up to entrance of the White Room's stomach. It sounded disgusting when you thought of it that way, but the White Room was a disgusting animal.

Genesis briskly attempted to walk his way out of the belly of the beast. Suddenly there was a sound of stepping, too fast to be normal and too many to human. He brought his sword out of his sheath with lighting speed. Genesis hated repetitions but he loved it when they saved his life, he heard it, 2 Agents approaching, fast. He ran into the direction of the first Agent, he saw it do a slide into the corner he was in and he tried to fight off the Agent but it kept it's distance until the second one came.

Genesis hated when supposed to be mindless beats started working together. They charged at him with pace, but he was used to this by now.

The countless bruises caused by the creatures left scars, mental ones as well. He hated them, so very much. The Agents ran to him and he dashed against the hollow hallway, running up it until he stabbed his sword into it, planting himself into it.

Immediately when the Agents crashed into each other, their nature of taking in overpowered and one of the Agents had absorbed the other, when Genesis saw this he pushed of the ceiling of the hallway he was in and swung his sword, killing the Agent.

He wiped the maroon blood of the Agent on its now bloody corpse, leaving his sword less silver than it was. Genesis attempted to wipe off the blood of the Agent on his calloused hands. When he did he cut himself, he was confused for a moment then realised it was the second month and he could actually hurt himself with the sword. He sighed as he walked through the hallway, looking at the blood of the White Room littered on its Agents.

'How disgraceful. Your master has truly no respect for you.'

Genesis hatefully thought.

The White Room and the Agents were 2 separate entities but the same at once, the Agents were the product of the White Room's need of protection, with the White Room eventually evolving to make the Agents for internal protection, in a way the Agents were the white blood cells of the White Room, they even looked the same. White, with tentacles that attacked anything intrusive, but one thing about them that was different was the burden they put on your mind.

'Pure torture.'

Genesis thought.

He escaped the clutches of the White Room's stomach for another day. He came up with a stain of blood on his silver armor, and he was feared upon by the citizens he went directly to the Jae to deliver his reports.

"There was no substantial progress but the increasing number of Agents feels like we're getting close to the heart."

"Good work, we will find it eventually and get this curse off you."

Jae responded as he rested on his throne.

The blue team had 2 options they could target the brain or the heart, they first tried the brain, and while thinking they were in the jaws of the beast they tried to climb up, but they found nothing and it was declared "too dangerous" as they had lost more men to falling than the Agents and themselves.

They only had one other option to belive, that they were in the stomach of the beast. So they started to continue their dig down, hoping they were right, but in the process they had lost many to the vile Agents. Genesis sat down on his bed, the continuous weight of the armor breaking it down as he had used the bed multiple times.

He reflected on the journey he had from here. A journey littered with grief, sadness, malice, hate and murder. He was a being with a divine soul he was to high to be feeling emotions as pitiful as those, yet he still did. He felt as if he had a responsibility to uphold and was failing miserably. He thought of the acquaintances and enemies he had made on his way here. He looked up and saw Lautaro approach.

"Hey, how are you doin'?"

"I'm doing just the same as always. Hateful, yet above. Disappointed yet joyful."

Lautaro was always confused on the words Genesis spout out and this day was no different.

"When you're feeling less... hateful, you can eat your breakfast."

"How could I stop hating my self. If I was strong enough then-"

Lautaro intercepted Genesis words like a masterclass defender.

"But you are strong now, with your new strength and your new self show the White Room who you are, Genesis."

Lautaro walked away after delivering the bravery boosting speech. Genesis stayed on his bed for a few minutes, playing with his hair. He sat up and listened to the stares of the people and saw the cries of their voices.

They screamed out words like.

"Why were you the one who didn't go?!"

"Kingslayer!"

The accusations everyday were able to be ignored at first put being called these words day after day was detrimental to the mind. He ignored the voices like he normally would and sat down to eat his breakfast.

***

After the eating the deceiving breakfast he, picked up his sword and tried to use the amplification of his divine soul again. He could sustain it for a minute until his body screamed at him to put his soul back in it's place.

He walked around aimlessly. He lied in his bed then decided to get up and join training, his personal training ever since the incident he expanded on what his body could be, he was better than before, but not as good as the people he wanted to surpass.

Lautaro was still improving, everyday. Although Genesis knew he would catch up he knew that it would take time, time he didn't have to spare, if he could charge into the White Room and defeat all the Agents while his comrades razed the heart, they would win. He did not want his friend to be strong enough to take away his wanted burden.

Jae was also one of the many that were still stronger than him. Genesis did not care about surpassing Jae as he was the king and he was a knight, loyal and devout for a singular person. A singular person that was worthy, Jae had done a lot for his subjects, too many good deeds to count too little evil to be remembered. He was perfect, a person like that should not be dying in war. That was why it was Genesis's mission to surpass all the knights and he was currently sharing second place in the strongest, if he was first he would be by the king's side and do anything to protect their only king and Genesis wasn't sure the other knights were as loyal as he was, in fact he was sure that they would leave the king's side if he ordered them to.

Genesis pondered on how he would uphold his burden as he was divine, a higher being of this world, he was to be their savior against a thing as grotesque as the White Room. He looked upon the carving of Hank, the only deceased king, he swore he would protect his king to his last breath as it was his responsibility to protect those less than himself.

Genesis hated repetitions, especially those that involved a great person and king's death.

He gathered around warriors around asserting them in cohorts, he commanded cohort 5. He looked to the person he previously hated before, the newest addition to the knights. Allus. They were going to raze the White Room today obliterating everything in their path. They had done enough mining and digging, so they figured why not attempt to kill all the Agents in the White Room, then there would be no obstacle in their way. This command had been giving after the first death of a king, they had been orchestrating the annihilation of the White Room for quite some time now.

Almost 3 months, they had been planning to slaughter everything the White Room had to offer. Now was the time, the time of the grand obliteration of the White Room. They walked in accordance to the entrance and they were ready to plunder.

The spearmen with shields filtered in first then the axemen with shields, the swordsmen were next, the bowsmen were prepared after the swordsmen and there was finally another row of swordsmen.

They were ready, almost 3 months of preparation had cone to this. They had to do this now or else they would lose to many people and they would lose the war, this was their last stand.

They descended down the makeshift flesh stairs and they watched as the rust colored meat was squelching, they could here it trying to close it's open wound but it couldn't.

The climbed down the stairs following the most promising path with was the path Genesis dug out, with his own sword. As he led the last cohort, both in number and in placement, he knew what they were trying to do, protect him.

As if a divine being like him would need such courtesy, they should have been laying out red carpets and worshipping him!

They navigated the countless turns as Genesis's prying eyes protuded their being, he used the shakiness of their hands as a sort of spyglass and he saw that they were truly ready for the great raid.

'This is to be the most grandiose achievement I have ever sought out. Now I am different from what I was before I see the world as second to me. I see it as lifelong companion. A little brother I must protect. As a being with divinity it is my utmost responsibility.'

The dialogue is Genesis's mind raged on like a terrifying sea, drowing out any doubt of his superiority and responsibility.

He was ready every single second in this petrifying White Room had come to this attempt, the attempt of victory, the attempt to protect hid comrades.

Genesis was not going to let an animal as vicious, unforgiving, unholy and deceiving harm his little children. He was going to fight for them till he dies.
