Chapter 17 - ACT 1.16:The White Room

Genesis and Debmaw ran into the entrance of the lungs lair in an attempt to flee the rampaging Grey Soul of the White Room.

Once in the room, they looked around for the impeding danger and they found it. The lungs were in the shape of an anteater. It had rough scales that dug into its soft flesh, making its rough scales, deep red. Its head had a long snout with snot spilling out of it. The snot repulsed Genesis, but he kept looking to see how it would work.

It's tounge was like a mask, covering it in a light pink and a lot of saliva. It had no teeth, but it had sharp nails that made indents in the floor of flesh.

The beast made a terrible roar, a roar of dominance and a roar of power. The ground was vibrating slightly, making the flesh tear apart. Genesis just barely managed to stand his ground, when the roar was released. Genesis saw as the long pink tongue of the lungs unravelled from its face, showing countless scars and scabs.

The lungs then said in a slurring tone.

"My name isss Sssapio and I am the Left Lung of the mossst gloriousss White Room."

The bird looked at Genesis and said.

"This guy isss going to attract Hallowion pretty soon if he keeps roaring. We have to take care of him and fast."

Genesis looked upon the ugly beast, with a look of disdain. He was especially happy to destroy a creature this ugly. He unsheathed his golden sword and it shone with a bright light. The creature looked as if he knew who Genesis was, but no words came out of its mouth.

Genesis and Debmaw came charging at the anteater, but it gave off a displeasing shriek, blasting Genesis away. However, Debmaw turned to ash and reappeared behind the creature but the creature quickly swung its short tail.

Sapio scales made scratches in Debmaw's feathers, but they were quickly healed, Debmaw tried to strike the beast with his razor sharp talons, but the beast's scales were to hard. Sepio's tongue was in the ground, sucking up blood from the fleshing floor with the pores that appeared.

When the creature's tongue resurfaced, it had red spikes in the places where the holes were. It tounge first struck Debmaw, but the decay was in effect, completely nullifying its attack. The tounge then went to random distances and turned around in a straight manner and it was heading directly for Genesis's heart.

There was an arrow flying at Genesis, well actually a pink, fleshy and spiky arrow heading towards him, but an arrow is an arrow. It sped up with spikes being shot out into the ground. Genesis struck the tongue, directing it into the walls, but the creature absorbed more blood from it's tounge.

Sepio was on the move somehow, in a way unknown to man. It was able to roll into a ball as well as have it's tounge be an offensive weapon. Debmaw and Genesis tried to strike but Debmaw's talons were not strong enough to cut through the scales and when Genesis struck the rock hard tounge, it turned as soft as a cushion, stopping the golden shining blade in it's tracks.

Genesis and Debmaw both tried to attack again, but the Left Lung of the White Room let off another one of its shockwave level screams, blasting them into the walls.

Debmaw and Genesis looked at each other in agreement. These consecutive loud noises would definitely attract Hallowion and this time, they may not have been as lucky.

Debmaw turned to ashes and entered the nose of Sepio, in an attempt to infect him with the virus, Debmaw stayed inside of Sepio, for longer than he could manage and when he came out he was completely worm out. But it worked as the Left Lung started to cough out blood.

Debmaw stayed on the floor, grunting as he recovered himself back together. Now, it was all up to Genesis to kill this beast. Sepio was acting as if he was not just injected with a lethal virus seconds ago as he was still going full throttle, as his ymtounge was zipping across the room like a particle of the sun.

Genesis blocked and parried, in every single strike getting closer to Sepio. The anteater kept going strong until it slowed down in pace, Genesis took the opportunity and attempted an overhead strike, but Sepio still had one more trick up its sleeve.

The spikes it had been shooting out littered the floor then they came into a single form the form of an arrow, Genesis blocked as many he could, when they came together but some pierced right through his legs and hands, leaving holes in them, Genesis's blood tried to loosen his grip of the wooden hilt but all attempts failed as Genesis was stuck defending against 3 projectiles, the rolling body, the spiky tounge and the arrow made out of flesh.

Genesis struggled as the song of cutting flesh became his recitation, his blade shifted through air and flesh alike, making them seem as if they were non-existent, the anteater slowed down stopping the continuous throwing of it's body to save it's energy, the virus was grasping the Left Lung's life, but Genesis would be the one to extinguish the flame.

He moved on forward with a conviction. His sword gleamed brighter than ever as his soul was overflowing with energy. He started to smile as the creature's tongue slowed down and it was like swatting a fly away. He charged at Sepio with all intention being to kill it.

The creature retracted it's tounge to make the mask over its face again, but Genesis's sword was ecstatic to feel the blood of the Left Lung on its edge. He slammed the sword down, delivering a devastating blow, but the scales were holding true, Genesis lifted the sword again and stabbed its scales.

The creature attempted to scream, but the virus turned its throat a sick green, rendering its voice useless. The creature then tried to spin around to knock Genesis down with it's tail, but Genesis was ready, he jumped over the swing of Sepio and stabbed it in it's head delivering the final blow and killing the beast.

The beast attempted to let out another one of its shouts, but its voice was prohibited from being heard by the virus. So, instead, it stomped on the ground, and then it died.

Debmaw was slowly arising as they heard the noises of the Grey Soul approaching, Genesis hopped onto Debmaw's back and they flew.

It was a bit difficult to stay on the flying bird as when it turned to ash, Genesis had to hang onto its talons. Genesis wondered how a being could live like this for the 19th time. Genesis and Debmaw decided to fly right and they heard shouts, screams, and the striking of arrows.

It was his comrades. They were still alive and they were currently fighting another beast from the gang of the White Room's, infamous organs. Genesis saw the creature. He could see a number that was in roman numerals. It was the number 7. Genesis flew above the beast who was in the shape of a salamander, it spewed out smoke from it's mouth to fog the battlefield, it had similar blood colored scales as the Sepio and it also had a long tounge as a projectile.

Genesis could only assume that this was the Right Lung of the White Room. Genesis flew over the beast as Debmaw decayed and he fell.

With golden sword in hand, Genesis finished off the beast by cutting of it's head. By now, Genesis looked like a monster himself. He was riddled with scars, his most prominent being, the scab at his hand, leg and torso. It was made when the healing of his own body merged with the healing of the tentacles, as if his body was overpowering the tentacles' grasp on the body. His worst wound was the lost of his eye which was not covered, his armor was crunched up and torn, one could see teh countless bruises and scratches, they could see, he was covered in scarlet fluids and his hands and legs had holes in them.

Kingslayer he may have been but Survivor, he was the definition of Survivor.

His appearance was so malevolent that when he came in view of the archers, theirs hands trembled filled with indescribable feeling of terror and they let their arrows fly, but Genesis had gone through too much to be felled by some measly silver arrows, his sword shone a bright gleam, radiating hope from the golden blade. He cut the arrows down and saw his friend, Lautaro. He whipped his sword, throwing away the foreign blood from its edge. His hair dripped down more and more streams of ruby blood as his appearance was no longer clouded by the smoke.

They could see his face, his king, Jae, was in shock he covered his mouth with his bloodied hands. His queen was riddled with a look of bewilderment and his friend Lautaro was in the most awe as a smile was boldly shone across his face.

Lautaro was the first one to welcome Genesis back. He ran to him, dropped his sword and gave him a heartfelt hug. The other members soon followed in crowding around him. They sang songs of praise. The cheers were interrupted with the arrival of Debmaw, the blue team raised their weapons, their stance was stronger and their eyes were colder.

Genesis raised his hands as to tell them to stand down. They followed his command and waited until the bird spoke.

"No, no, you can keep going. He deserves the praise."

The crowd erupted back into cheers, those who called him "Kingslayer" before now called him "Victor." Genesis stood in silence as let his grip on his sword go loose. That was the first time he ever truly felt on top of the world.

The king brought Genesis up to the corpse of Right Lung and said.

"This man braved the impossible odds, survived while riddled with countless scars, he went in battle against monsters unknown to mankind and even tamed one of these monsters himself. If he can do it so can we, we can brave through all the impossible, many of all have fallen that may be true, but the fact you are still here today, does that not overflow you with hope? If it does, then keep going!"

Genesis could barely hold his laughter when Jae said he "tamed" Debmaw, but all in all, the speech even gave Genesis hope, not the will to survive and hate, the ability and desire to live for himself and hope for better days would come.

The group decided that they would stay here to recuperate and they would stay here to train for the fight against the last organ of the White Room the Brain.

Genesis gave them information about the Grey Soul of the White Room, he told them about his name. He told them that he killed his brothers, he partially lied when he said that. He told them that the soul yearns to kill him because he tricked it and escaped from it's razor sharp teeth. He told them about the golden sword where he found it and he narrated about the tales of his grand voyage of slaying monsters after monsters. Genesis also clarified that Debmaw was not his pet and actually an organ of the White Room who seemed revenge and when they asked who the organs were, Debmaw gave them the information.

Genesis took a while to rest, then he was treated, fabric from the beds were used as bandages and Genesis was nestled by them. One could confuse him for a mummy.

Genesis bandages quickly turned, dirty as he was covered in blood, yet he was ready for the spar.
