Chapter 19 - ACT 1.18: The White Room

Genesis followed the blue team to their base of operations. They hid out in a dug out part of the White Room, which was constantly guarded by both archers and spearmen so it would not be found or even destroyed by the Agents.

Genesis took a place to stay in and he reflected on his journey and thought about his thoughts. He had come a long way from the boy in the White Room.

A knight he was now, Genesis smiled at the remembrance of the start of the hierarchy. He thought it was too extraterrestrial. Things like that only happen in movies, webnovels or books. Yet it happened to Genesis right as his life got worse for another time, so it got some what got better?

Anyway, Genesis knew that he had duties to uphold and to protect his comrades, the brave people who embrace this new world. The people who ventured into the body of a gargantuan beast for the survival of themselves, they did not just give their lives to due, they stood to fight for another day even when the world was against them.

Genesis was amazed with how far they progressed, with or without him he was still very proud of his partners and especially his cohort.

When Genesis had gone missing they rejected the chance to become knights themselves and trained harder than anyone else in the team and they had faith for him to come and they waited for him and they believed in him and Genesis felt so pleased when they did that. He felt happy that he had followers he could trust and believe in and if they believed in him, then he would believe in them.

Genesis lay quietly on his bed reflecting on how he went through this marvellous journey in the first place, it all was originated from the very appearance of the Purposeless Wanderer, a single action he commited, made Genesis's life all the more better, although he did save his life there were repercussions, repercussions to grand for Genesis to meddle with, but the very same consequence he could not dare interfere with involved his new life in the world of evolution.

Since the Purposeless Wanderer showed up, Genesis's eyes were blinded by it's godliness and the Purposeless Wanderer had to rearrange Genesis's soul with his and made it divine. Genesis also realized he would have to be stronger so he decided to train harder and his late night training led him to meet the woman with the void armor, the vessel of the White Room, whether it be literally or symbolically Genesis did not know, all he knew was that he had the hardest battle against a human he had ever had in life and came out victorious. His incredible victory led him to be hated by the White Room, which then led Agents to target him. That unfolded into the death of Hank and the hate from the White Room was probably why Genesis fell further down in the White Room, he had faced the Bladder of the White Room, whether it was literally or symbolically Genesis still did not know. In his fight against the liver he had lost his left eye which sent him back several light years in the art of the sword, yet he kept going along the way he met and slaughtered Agents, lost his energy gained countless scars.

He angered the Grey Soul of the White Room but only gained scars, bruises and a new enemy. The Soul was an enemy that hated Genesis for who he met which led further back to when he was saved by the Purposeless Wanderer, he gave up his silver sword to save his arm and was bleeding all over, he survived yet again by a product of the Purposeless Wanderer. It was like every time Genesis found a reason to hate him, he would just save his life. Genesis took the old golden sword of the Purposeless Wanderer and Genesis escaped the beast the same way he did, which led the beast to rampage because of its lack on liking getting tricked.

Genesis thought about how he almost died from anemia and blood loss because of the bruises and splinters everywhere on his body. He remembered how he had to get slammed against a ceiling by an advanced Agents and then had to do everything in his power to kill it and then used it's flesh to heal his mouth that was littered with holes.

Genesis reflected on how his journey led him to meet the most interesting character here, the Liver, Debmaw. His constant decay was always so interesting to Genesis. His personality was an absolute field of mystery. How could one be so close to turning to dust every few seconds yet still be so playful?

Genesis remembered his training with Debmaw, although short he learned a lot, he learned how to use the curse of only having one eye and turn it into a blessing, just like Debmaw did to his decay he did to his eye, making the right eye better in terms of focus. He also learned how to channel his soul energy throughout his golden sword, it was the Purposeless Wanderer's last blessing for him, a divine soul that paired up perfectly with a golden sword, the energy in the sword was only a slight boost against creatures but slight was all he needed.

Genesis worked together with Debmaw to defeat the Left Lung of the White Room and Debmaw did most of the heavy lifting by infecting Sepio with the Virus but Genesis was the one to deliver the final blow to the formidable archer.

Genesis had stayed on the back of Debmaw as he flew into the battle zone of where the Right Lung was and Genesis made quick work of it, with a surprise attack from the heavens, slicing off it's head. Genesis chuckled as the archers shot their bows in pure terror of what they saw, a monster he was now, no longer the worst knight, but the scariest. It's funny to think that you can go from the least impressive to the most overwhelming.

Genesis lay flat on his back, ready for the purge of the final organ, the Brain of the White Room. The group took mere hours to gather themselves, this would be the final fight, the final fight until they slew the heart, the sole and only heart of the White Room.

This fight will be told for generations onwards, but for either side, either the humans will tell their children's children about the glory of victory or the Agents will tell their abomination of children how amazing the Brain was.

Jae let the soldiers organise themselves into their own groups. Most of Genesis's old cohort fled to him and Genesis was indeed happy. The rest of the soldiers dispersed between different captains except for the archers in Sephina's cohort.

Jae led the raze to the Brain, they flew up many countless flights of stairs until they arrived there at lair of the Brain, the Brain looked like a human brain except bigger and more tentacles were flying out of it. It used to it's tentacles for some sort of control panel that was connected to the main body of the Brain. The tentacles were constantly typing away at a keyboard.

The blue team entered the room and the Brain did not act until the first arrow etched itself into it. The brain seemed to twitch and then stop, suddenly a wave of energy slammed Genesis against the wall along with countless others.

The Brain of the White Room was using some sort of psychic energy to hurt them and they could do nothing about it. The Brain kept using the psychic energy to hold them against walls, steal their breath and break their armor apart. One poor soul had his armor broken apart and the next was his torso.

Genesis tried to see a pattern to the chaos, but it seemed like there was none. Genesis ran up to the Brain but was immediately shut down. In the close proximity of the Brain, Genesis could see that when he swatted away, a tentacle pressed a button on the keyboard. So that must have been it. It could only use the control panel for its psychic attacks.

Genesis ordered Debmaw to try to infect it with the virus, in the moment the Brain stopped the choking and slamming and focused on the decayed bird which had split it's ashes into 19 parts which was one more than the tentacles had.

'Perfect!'

Genesis thought, almost saying it out loud. While the brain was distracted by the threat of the virus, the knights got to work, first was Lautaro the closest one to the Brain, he dashed forward swinging at it over and over again and when the brain swatted him away Debmaw inched ever so closely to the main body of the Brain.

Next up was Sephina, who let off 3 arrows striking true and bold. While the knights were having their time to shine, the king and queen would not dare miss out on the silver filled opportunity. Noel quickly ran upwards, stabbing it over and over before getting knocked away again. But one thing that didn't get knocked away was Debmaw, Genesis knew he had to take a lot of energy to stop his evolution from healing him back, but nevertheless, he kept going.

The entire cohort of Allus charged onwards and left it scarred and beaten, the Brain was in a predicament it would only take one push from Debmaw for it to meet a most fortunate end, or it could die at the hands of these pesky humans, so the brain chose the former knocking away the humans and letting the virus infect it.

Debmaw stopped the form and stayed in the corner, getting his energy back from the long time he stayed in the form. Once the virus infected the Brain everyone charged upwards arrows were flung and so we're people.

The Brain lost it's tentacles one by one and was left with nothing to defend it's self with and it was Allus, filled with rage that he had lost to a cripple, delivered the final blow in an excellent display of spearplay, sliced and stabbed the creature until it died.

Genesis realised that he never got the name of the Brain, all the other organs had names except for the Liver whose mouth was to big to have words go through it and the Right Lung who he swiftly executed, maybe because the Brain didn't have a mouth or maybe it did not want to share, but anyway they still defeated the Brain and the next was to be the siege against the heart.

Genesis went over to Debmaw and said.

"You did good, rest for now and we will defeat the heart later."

However, the bird was already sleeping and Genesis thought a sad thought. That this could be his last ever dream, so Genesis let him enjoy it.

Genesis went around until he saw him. The baby, the baby with a bright blue light surrounding it. He went over to the cooing baby and the child reached for his face and Genesis let it try.

After his brief interaction with the child, Genesis saw someone familiar, Smugde, was his name now with dried blood on his face and still with two small axes, he was now a certified soldier. Genesis went over to seal of coffin that should have been sealed a long time ago.

"I'm sorry for brutally beating you up."

"Oh, it's you, I thought you died. I forgot all about it a long time ago."

Genesis looked at the scars on the child's face and knew he was lying, scars like that don't just disappear because you forgave someone. They stay with you in everything you do.
