Chapter 212 - Chapter 212: The Sword of Truth Pierces Through

However, the current mid-tier spirit moved very stiffly, and Roa felt no vitality typical of a spirit from it.

The wolf lunged toward Roa, looking quite impressive, with sharp claws and teeth, and a long, muscular body.

But relying solely on appearance didn't have any practical effect.

To Roa, the attack was weak and powerless; a spirit that couldn't even be classified as mid-tier was genuinely boring.

Roa didn't even bother to dodge, merely shifting his body slightly.

And it was this small movement that allowed him to evade the fierce lunge of the wolf spirit.

Roa reached out and directly grabbed the wolf spirit by the neck. The wolf howled in desperation, instinctively sensing danger and attempting to resist.

Roa applied slight pressure with his right hand, and with a sound of bones breaking, he released his grip, and the wolf spirit fell lifelessly to the ground.

For mid-tier spirits like this, death was truly death.

Roa looked at Jio with a hint of amusement and teased, "Is this the level of the so-called heir to the demon king?"

Jio's face showed anger upon hearing this. He didn't waste any more words and shouted, "Manifest! Demon Light Spirit————!"

Another red light lit up, and the crimson patterns glowed.

Brilliant light gathered in Jio's hand, eventually forming a long spear that was entirely white.

Jio tightly gripped the spear in his right hand, raised it high, and hurled it toward Roa. The powerful force concentrated in the spear shaft, piercing through the air with a whistling sound.

Roa frowned slightly; it wasn't because the attack was particularly powerful, but he was somewhat surprised that Jio could summon another spirit.

Most spirit users in this world only had one spirit; occasionally, some could contract two, but the majority primarily contracted one.

This wasn't to say they could only contract one spirit; in fact, as long as spirit users wanted, they could contract as many as they liked.

The key, however, lay in the spirits themselves. Contracting two spirits, known as dual contracts, would cause the spirits to influence each other, leading to an imbalance in the spirit user's divine power, making it difficult for them to control the spirits. In some cases, they might even be unable to summon their spirits.

Moreover, having an additional spirit didn't necessarily mean an increase in combat power.

Having an extra spirit was akin to having an extra mouth to feed; ordinary spirit users had limited divine power and couldn't support that many mouths. Following the principle of striving for excellence, most spirit users chose to have just one spirit.

The guy in front of him was actually a dual-contract spirit user, which surprised Roa slightly.

Surprise aside, the battle had to continue.

Divine power gathered, and a blazing firelight rose. A long spear appeared in Roa's hand as well, the fiery red spear radiating intense heat. Roa gripped the spear tightly and hurled it toward the white spear.

Roa's speed in condensing the spear was quick, and the divine power he infused wasn't much, but the crimson spear carried a scorching wave, cutting through the air with a long trail of heat. Although it was launched later, it arrived first. The red spear collided with the white spear, and divine power intertwined, but in just an instant, the white spear began to shatter, the spear shaft breaking inch by inch, first the tip, then the body, and finally it shattered into white light and dissipated.

Jio didn't show any signs of panic; he coldly said, "Manifest! Mirror Spirit————!"

The red patterns lit up again, and the air in front of Jio twisted, and a mirror appeared out of thin air, standing as tall as a person, reflecting a chilling aura.

Roa raised an eyebrow, having a faint guess.

Mirrors likely absorbed or reflected attacks.

The fiery red spear, carrying a wave of heat, scorched the air. Although its speed was slightly reduced, it still reached Jio in the blink of an eye.

The fire-red spear shot toward the mirror, and the surface of the mirror rippled slightly, the space beginning to twist and change. The spear tip pierced the mirror surface, pausing for a moment before being swallowed by the mirror.

The next moment, the mirror spat out the red spear, a long rainbow shooting toward Roa, the black divine power wrapping around the spear as it headed toward him.

Roa raised an eyebrow; honestly, although he hadn't infused much divine power, the fact that it could reflect his attack surprised him a bit.

Jio smirked, a wild grin on his face as he arrogantly said, "Kid, you can taste your own attack now."

Roa ignored Jio. While Jio's mirror spirit had some merit, it wasn't much.

The fiery red spear didn't fly as Jio had imagined; as it aimed at Roa, it began to dissipate.

The divine power in the middle started to break down, the scorching divine power leaking out, and the crimson divine power continuously flowed away, eventually gathering in Roa's hand.

The spear dissipated in mid-air, leaving only a layer of black mist wrapped around it. This faint layer of black mist was likely the reason the mirror spirit controlled everything.

Roa's expression was playful as he smiled and said, "You're using my attack against me? The idea is good, but unfortunately, it's useless."

Jio's smile froze. Although he hadn't expected to kill Roa directly with his attack, he had merely wanted to annoy him. However, the current scene made Jio's actions look quite ridiculous.

Jio felt his dignity was being provoked and shouted angrily at Roa, "Stop looking down on people! Manifest! Sword Spirit————!"

A familiar flash of light appeared, and the red glow once again filled Jio's body, the red light flickering from another crimson pattern on his arm.

An ancient longsword suddenly appeared in Jio's hand, tightly gripped by him. Jio bent down, leaning forward, and suddenly lunged at Roa like a cheetah.

In the blink of an eye, Jio's figure vanished, and in just a breath, he was already behind Roa, tightly gripping the ancient longsword in his right hand.

Roa clicked his tongue inwardly; this was already the fourth spirit the opponent had summoned. Although they were all quite weak, it genuinely surprised Roa.

The ancient longsword sliced through the air, descending toward Roa's head, but Roa merely stood there, making no move at all.

His golden hair swayed in the wind, and a cold glint flashed in Roa's eyes.

This guy's brain isn't quite functioning well; he's the first enemy brave enough to engage Roa in close combat.

Roa remained motionless, and to Jio, it seemed like Roa hadn't reacted yet.

Although his instincts told him that Roa couldn't be so easily dealt with, Jio still held onto a glimmer of hope deep down.

After all, his sword was almost pressed against the opponent's head; how could the opponent turn the tables?

Very well, the advantage is mine.

Then, in the next moment, Jio's vision blurred, a tremendous force struck him, his right hand dislocated, and his right arm twisted into a pretzel shape, a wave of excruciating pain surged through him.

Jio's expression froze, the ancient longsword fell to the ground, and he faced the ground, making intimate contact with it.

The intense pain spread along his arm, reaching his heart; it wasn't just his arm—Jio felt a burning sensation on his face as well.

Jio struggled to get up, but Roa's left hand exerted force, rendering Jio's left arm useless once more. The piercing pain swept over him, and Jio nearly blacked out from the agony.

At this moment, Roa spoke calmly, "Well, you might as well let your backers come out; that way, you can suffer a little less."

Jio gritted his teeth; he had been completely defeated in just one move. The stark contrast in strength made him feel extremely embarrassed.

Jio roared, "Show yourself! Wind Spirit————!"

A violent whirlwind suddenly began to swirl around Jio, the fierce wind trying to carry Roa away, giving Jio some time to recover.

But the boy's footsteps didn't budge an inch; that hand still firmly gripped his right arm.

Roa's slightly regretful voice echoed in Jio's ears, "It seems you didn't appreciate the mercy I showed you."

Jio's face stiffened; he looked up in disbelief, only to see a pair of crimson-gold eyes. A powerful aura pressed down on him, like a pitch-black hand tightly gripping Jio's heart, the overwhelming pressure nearly suffocating him.

The cold crimson-gold pupils reflected his current disheveled appearance. The moment he saw those eyes, Jio felt a bone-chilling coldness surge in his heart.

"I, I…"

Jio opened his mouth, his voice trembling.

He didn't understand why he was acting so uselessly, but at this moment, he regretted agreeing to the dark spirit's request.

Roa remained motionless, unaffected by the Wind Spirit at all.

The scorching divine might spread, the intense divine power seeped into Jio's skin, a burning sensation surged through his blood.

Jio howled in pain, the burning sensation stabbing at his nerves, and he began to struggle.

Roa kicked Jio aside and coldly said, "What's wrong? Don't you plan to come out? He'll be dead soon."

Roa never showed mercy to his enemies; as the saying goes, being merciful to the enemy is being cruel to oneself.

Although this guy's intelligence was indeed pitiful.

"Lotus, go."

Black wings spread open, and a girl emerged from the shadows, followed by another girl.

The black-haired girl slightly bowed and pretended to be elegant as she said, "It's nice to see you again. My name is Restia Ashdoll; you can just call me Restia. As for the girl beside me, well, her name isn't important. I'm here this time just to ask for your help."

Roa sneered, kicked the fallen Jio, and showed a mocking expression as he said to Restia, "Is this how you ask for help?"

Restia still wore a smile on her face; she calmly replied, "He hasn't posed a threat to you, has he?"

After saying that, Restia gently brushed her dark hair behind her ear, her expression growing more playful as she coldly glanced at the groaning Jio on the ground. Restia said, "There's no need to waste time on a fool. Let me see your strength and whether you can withstand this power."

Restia didn't give Roa a chance to speak; she reached out and caressed the face of the girl beside her, showing a look of pity.

"Lotus, I'm doing this for your own good; don't blame me."

Roa had excellent hearing; even though the other party murmured, he could hear her words.

Restia's words left Roa puzzled, but now wasn't the time to think about that.

The girl beside Restia stepped forward; she was a very beautiful girl with brown hair.

However, at this moment, the girl was enveloped in a faint black mist, the dark energy swirling around her, causing Roa to frown.

The girl's condition wasn't good either; she gave him a very strange feeling.

Roa furrowed his brow, recalling the oddities, and at that moment, he heard Est's voice in his mind.

"Really persistent, aren't you?"

Est said.

Roa curiously asked, "What's wrong, Est? It seems you know her?"

Est's cold tone replied, "This girl is Solomon's paired sword, that dark spirit."

Roa suddenly understood; no wonder Restia looked so familiar; it was because he had seen a similar scene in his dreams.

Although the dark energy surrounding the girl wasn't as dense as Solomon's, it was still significant. Looking at the girl's expression, Roa realized that she had likely lost her sanity.

Est revealed her true form, her youthful face growing colder as she spoke to Restia, "What? Your Master was killed by my Master so many years ago, and you still haven't given up on causing destruction?"

Restia's smile gradually faded, and her tone turned cold as she disdainfully replied, "What you killed was just a failure. How can Solomon be called a Demon King? A Demon King is not a madman; he couldn't withstand the power of a Demon King and became a mere aggregation of resentment."

Est coldly said, "Then what do you want to do now? Isn't it better to hide underground like a rat?"

This was the first time Roa had seen Est speak with such a confrontational tone.

But this time, Restia smiled and said, "After you defeat Lotus, I'll tell you."

After saying that, the girl named Lotus stepped forward, standing in front of Roa and Est.

Enveloped in pitch-black divine might, she exuded an extremely terrifying aura.

An emotionless voice came from the girl, "You are the sword of the wise; you are the sword that pierces reality————"

As the words fell, the black mist surged, and a powerful divine might rose from the girl. The black lines on her right hand glowed, symbolizing the opening of the door between the spirit and the spirit user. The black divine might flowed into it, and a pitch-black knight's longsword appeared in the girl's hand.

When the knight's longsword appeared, the light in the girl's eyes completely vanished, leaving only a pitch-black void.

Roa raised an eyebrow; the person before him actually gave him a sense of pressure.
