I watched Cairn walk off to join the other wolves. I brought my hand to my mouth as I remembered the way his had felt on mine. I returned to the tent, where I found Angelo still seated in his bed and looking at me.
For a moment, we stared at each other. I smiled at him and got closer to him. As I waited for the person who was going to take over watching him so I could continue my research and medicine making, I decided to make conversation.
"I'm glad you're safe, you really scared me for a second," I said in relief.
"Are you going to yell at me, too?" he then asked as a saddened and fearful expression appeared on his face. "My father and uncle shouted at me so much yesterday. I swear I'll never do it again!"
