Jungkook and Taehyung were back at the pilot's house the day after. The latter was discharged as his body temp has normalized and there were no signs of trauma on the baby too.
When they were at the hospital they had an ultrasound and saw their little baby for the first time. They will have to go back when Taehyung is on his fourth month to check on the baby's heartbeat as it's only around that time when it can be monitored.
They were currently having a snack outside their bedroom balcony when Jungkook got a message on his phone. He checked and a loud sigh escaped his lips. Taehyung caught it.
"What is it love?" He asked.
"I asked for an appointment with my appa and he messaged me to meet him for dinner this evening." Jungkook said.
Taehyung looked at Jungkook and noticed how anxious he was.
"Kook, if I may ask, do you hate your father that much?" Taehyung asked.
"It's not that I hate him. I hate the fact that he wasn't there for me and eomma all the time. He was always with his immediate family. Growing up, I only felt his presence when I end up making a mistake or did something that he's not very pleased about.
And, the fact that we're not the legal family really affected my relationships in the past. My friends and then boyfriend left me for being an illegitimate Jeon. I just hated it so much." Jungkook said.
"But was that your father's fault? I mean, if they were real friends and if your boyfriend really loved you, then shouldn't they have stayed?" Taehyung asked.
"I know. It just frustrated me a lot. What's worse is that he never really reached out when my ex left me even if he knew why my ex left. I mean, he could've called me to comfort me or something, righf? But, he didn't. I just didn't feel his presence on moments when I needed him the most." Jungkook explained.
"Maybe he didn't know how to? Maybe he was also frustrated with your set-up? I mean, as your eomma said, it was an arranged marriage right? It seems that your grandparents had control over him. There must have been a reason." Taehyung said.
Jungkook thought about it for a while and then looked at Taehyung.
"You really think he cares?" Jungkook asked.
"Well, the only way for you to find out is talk to him." Taehyung said.
Jungkook nodded.
"About your ex, he never reached out to you afterwards?" Taehyung asked.
"He did. But, I think he just physically missed me, if you know what I mean." Jungkook said.
"So you kept on seeing him after he broke up with you?" Taehyung asked.
"Yeah, for about two months, but eventually I stopped it. I knew how he thought about me. Me being a bastard son was still not acceptable for him. He would never fight for our relationship. So, I ended it completely." Jungkook said.
"You never thought about him afterwards?" Taehyung asked.
"Hey, why all these questions?" Jungkook asked.
"Nothing. Just curious." Taehyung asked.
"Taeh, I've moved on from him. From that chapter of my life. So you don't have to worry about that." Jungkook said.
"What if he comes back?" Taehyung asked.
"There's no one to come back to. My heart belongs to someone now. And you very well know who that someone is." Jungkook said as he leaned over Taehyung who was sitting in front of him, and gave him a kiss on the forehead.
"How about you? You were with Eunwoo for five years. Don't you miss him?" It was Jungkook's turn to ask.
"You know what? Looking back, I can't even find a reason why our relationship lasted that long. I guess it was out of convenience that we stayed together? I mean, the first two years was great. But, after that everything was routinary. We almost always talked about work, go on dinner dates but it was void of romance. It got boring, maybe that's why he ended up cheating on me. And, when he did, I was hurt but at the same time I felt relieved. I know that sounds bad, but it was just how I felt.
I didn't fight for our relationship because I felt that there was nothing really meaningful to fight for. I just ran off and didn't look back. Do you get what I mean?" Taehyung said.
"Yeah. I'm glad you did though. Or else I wouldn't have met you at the airport that day." Jungkook said.
Taehyung giggled. "That's still one of my favorite moments of us." Taehyung said.
"And what would be the other moments?" Jungkook asked.
"Every moment after that." Taehyung said making Jungkook laugh.
"Then you're using the word favorite wrong, Vante-ssi. Tsk. You're a writer, love. You should know these things." Jungkook teased.
When Jungkook mentioned writer, Taehyung was reminded of his upcoming schedules.
"Kook, I forgot to tell you. I have several book tours and signing, plus interviews the next few weeks." Taehyung said.
"Where?" Jungkook asked.
"Just here in Korea. The international ones will start by next month, but then I guess I have to postpone those as I can't fly for the whole of my first semester." Taehyung pouted with the thought. He loves traveling, but it's something that he has to forego for now.
Jungkook felt bad for his boyfriend so he patted his lap signaling Taehyung to sit there. The latter did, sideways, and wrapped an arm around Jungkook's neck.
"Can you postpone everything for the next three months? The doctor said that you're qualified as having high-risk pregnancy. Maybe you can take it easy for a while? I'm sure Jimin would understand." Jungkook said.
"You're right. But what am I supposed to do when you're away on flights?" Taehyung asked.
"Oh about that, Joong hyung messaged me telling me that he has arranged for me to be with you first for your first trimester. So, I'd be on sabbatical leave for now. And, since he's the president of the company, I should follow what my boss says, right?" Jungkook happily said.
Taehyung's eyes brightened and he hugged Jungkook tight, excited with the thought of being with his boyfriend every single day for three straight months.
He then realized something.
"Wait a minute, Joong hyung huh? Since when have you been chummy chummy with my brother?" Taehyung asked.
"We talked at the hospital together with your dad and my sister while you were undergoing treatment. He's such a nice guy." Jungkook said.
"Yes, he's the best brother ever." Taehyung said.
"He also told me about you and my sister." Jungkook said.
"Yes she told me about it too. It made me cringe. No offense to your sister, I mean she is quite a catch, but there's no way I'm going to date a girl." Taehyung said.
"So if I had a brother, you'd consider?" Jungkook said.
"A twin, maybe?" Taehyung said teasing his boyfriend.
"Is that so? So you just like me for my looks?" Jungkook said.
"And hot body." Taehyung said trying to keep a straight face, but failing miserably.
Jungkook laughed then kissed Taehyung softly.

Jungkook smiled at Taehyung and kissed his forehead, forgetting the stares that are locked in on them.
"Good evening, sirs. May I get your name please?" The man on the receiving area said.
"Jeon Jungkook."
"Oh yes, Mr. Jeon. Your father's waiting for you. This way please." Jungkook and Taehyung followed him.
Jungkook took note of what the man said…your father. Did he openly declare who I was to him? He thought.
As they were walking towards the table, the two stopped when someone called Jungkook's name.
"Jungkook?" A man said, standing up from one of the tables.
"Mingyu." Jungkook said as he froze on the spot.
"Taehyung oppa?" Mingyu said.
"Oh, hi Mingyu. It's been a while. You two know each other?" Taehyung asked the two.
"Yes, he's my ex-boyfriend." Mingyu said under his breath.
"Oh, so you're the ex." Taehyung said.
Jungkook looked at Taehyung with furrowed brows and Taehyung got the message.
"Kookie, Kim Mingyu is my second cousin. His dad and my dad are cousins. We haven't seen each other since we were kids. I think that was the time uncle and auntie got divorced, right?" Taehyung asked.
"Right." Mingyu said.
"So, did uncle eventually marry his mistress?" Taehyung said, deliberately putting down Mingyu knowing how he treated Jungkook in the past.
Mingyu was taken aback by what Taehyung said.
"Keep your voice down oppa." Mingyu said.
"Oh, I'm sorry didn't mean to announce that. I didn't think it was a secret." Taehyung said in a low voice.
Jungkook knew what his boyfriend was doing and he was amused at how sassy he could be, and at the same time felt grateful for how he's standing up for him.
Mingyu turned to Jungkook and tried to ignore Taehyung.
"It's been years, Kook. We should catch up soon." Mingyu said.
"I don't think so, Yu. Nothing to catch up on really. But, it's nice to see you. Now, please excuse us." Jungkook said.
"Wait, Kook. So, you and oppa are —"
"Getting married. And you're invited by the way. Just wait for the invitation for the details. See you, cuz." Taehyung said before walking away with Jungkook.
"So, when's our wedding?" Jungkook teased.
"Shut up. I can't believe you dated him. He's like the black sheep of our clan. Hated his guts." Taehyung said.
Jungkook chuckled. "You're a feisty one, Kim Taehyung. You never seize to surprise me."
"There's more to me than meets the eye." Taehyung said.
"I have to agree with you on that." Jungkook said, placing his hand around Taehyung's waist.
The two were getting lost in their world, but they were interrupted by someone.
"Jungkook, son!"
Jungkook looked at the direction where the voice came from. He saw his father walking towards him.
Ji Mo stopped in front of Jungkook and that's when the latter saw that his appa was actually crying.
Ji Mo threw his arms around Jungkook but the younger stood still.
"I missed you son. Thank you for finally seeing me." Ji Mo said.
Jungkook fet his heart clench and without thinking, he wrapped his arms around his father too as his eyes welled up in tears.
"I missed you too, appa." Jungkook said with his voice breaking.
Taehyung watched the two hug and couldn't help get teary eyed too.
Ji Mo suddenly noticed Taehyung and pulled away from Jungkook.
"Taehyung, you're all grown-up. What a fine looking man you are. Can you give your uncle a hug?" Ji Mo said with his arms wide open.
Taehyung stepped forward and hugged him.
"I can't believe the two of you would end up together. Come, let's go to our table. Ji-hoon said that you two have good news for me so I can't wait to hear it." Ji Mo took Jungkook and Taehyung's hands and pulled them to their table.
Jungkook and Taehyung looked at each other smiling widely.
The three sat down and Ji Mo looked at them lovingly.
"So, before we eat, what is it? I've been dying to hear what the good news is. Are you two getting married?" Ji Mo asked.
Jungkook couldn't help but chuckle at his appa's reaction.
"Calm down, appa. We will eventually get there, but that's not it." Jungkook said.
"What is it then?" Ji Mo curiously asked.
"Taehyung's pregnant, appa. You'll be a grandfather soon.
Ji Mo was shocked at the news and then remembered that his best friend, Taehyung's dad, did mention once that his son is intersex. He started shedding happy tears again.
"Oh my goodness. This is the best news I've ever heard in my entire life." Ji Mo said as he stood up and went to hug Jungkook again.
"Congratulations son. I'm quite sure that you will be a great father. I'm so proud of you." Ji Mo said and that made the two break down and cried in each other's arms.
Taehyung looked at them and suddenly felt a wave of emotions rising in his chest. He started crying too. And not just the normal cry, but ugly crying.
Jungkook and Ji Mo suddenly noticed and they both panicked.
"Love, are you okay?" Jungkook asked.
"Yes, I am. I'm just so happy for the two of you." Taehyung said in between sobs. He tried to stop but he couldn't.
Ji Mo started laughing.
"Oh my, you remind me of Jung-ah when she was pregnant with Jungkook. She would usually have a crying spree all of a sudden." Ji Mo asked.
It took Taehyung five minutes to compose himself while Jungkook just stared at his adorable bear, rubbing his back.
"I'm so sorry I don't know where that came from." Taehyung said.
"It's okay love, it's quite adorable actually." Jungkook said as he wiped the remaining tears from Taehyung's face.
"Let's eat. We don't want our pregnant Taehyung to be cranky all of a sudden." Ji Mo teased.
The dinner was full of laughter as the father and son talked. Jungkook told his appa that he's ready to take on the CEO position in JJM Airways, making Ji Mo cry for the third time that night. He explained his main reason for accepting it…that he wants to be with Taehyung and their child as much as he can. Ji Mo understood and he couldn't be prouder of his son for making such a decision.
As for Taehyung, all he could do was to look at his boyfriend fondly and couldn't help but fall in love with him all over again.
