Chapter 26 - Chapter 26: Gate to the World

Chapter 26: Gate to the World

Night.

No. 3 Observatory, rooftop.

Xia Feng stood on the edge of the rooftop, facing the breeze, and glanced at the time.

7:01 PM

He had arrived two hours early. Not only had Mu Qingtong not set any traps here, but she was also incredibly late!

"What is this girl up to?"

Xia Feng raised his head and looked around warily in the darkness. He was speechless. It was just a trade for the Infinite Stone—why did it have to be on the rooftop?

This was the kind of place where people were most likely to die.

7:03 PM

[Xia Feng: Where are you?]

There was no response from the other side.

But at that moment.

[After escaping from the pursuit of three Holy Church agents, you have a better understanding of the Hidden Spirit Clothe.]

[After subconsciously thinking, you modify the Hidden Spirit Clothe.]

[Standing behind Xia Feng to conduct the experiment, you have completely learned how to be completely invisible in the dark.]

Xia Feng: "???"

His neck stiffened, and he tilted his head slightly as if nothing had happened.

There was darkness behind him, and no sign of anyone.

[Xia Feng vaguely sensed something unusual, so he hid behind the wall and thought for a moment, and then he filled the hole in his Hidden Spirit Clothe again.]

Xia Feng: "..."

Swoosh—

At that moment, there was a sound of breaking air in the night sky. Xia Feng looked up vigilantly, only to find three men in dark black uniforms.

The black and gold emblem on the left chest of their uniforms revealed their identities—agents of the Holy Church.

The Holy Church was an official law enforcement agency established by the Empire to deal with supernatural events within the country.

The three Holy Church agents stood in the air and looked around, soon spotting Xia Feng standing on the rooftop.

They flashed and appeared in front of Xia Feng.

The middle-aged man in the lead spoke gently, "Student, have you seen anyone acting suspiciously?"

Xia Feng: "Acting suspicious?"

"A man in a red robe wearing a black mask with red hearts?"

Red Heart Mask?

Xia Feng blinked and shook his head blankly, "I didn't see anything~"

The middle-aged man nodded without further doubt. But as he turned to leave, his steps suddenly stopped. He turned back sharply and asked, "What are you doing on the rooftop alone?"

Xia Feng pointed to the old stargazing telescope not far away, blinked, and said seriously, "I'm studying the 'Three Realms Dependence Theory of the Star Realm, the Dark Realm, and the Present Realm.' This is the only observatory where you can observe the Star Realm for free."

"Mr. Agent, this isn't against the law, is it?"

The middle-aged man's eyes softened instantly, and he coughed, "Well, it's not illegal. You can continue."

But Xia Feng asked again, "Agent, are you chasing a nightmare beast? Could it be that a nightmare beast has escaped into the academy?"

The middle-aged man waved his hand and instructed his two men to continue searching to the south. He then took out a detector and waved it toward the sky, explaining, "It's not a nightmare beast, but a spiritual criminal."

Xia Feng: "A spiritual criminal?"

"You know Bloody Street, right? The space in that area is unstable, and nightmare beasts often sneak into the real world. The evil ones are rampant, and it's very chaotic. This bastard, codenamed Red Peach, often appears in Bloody Street and kills indiscriminately. Whether it's the Evil Race, the evil ones, or spirit masters—even some ordinary people—have all fallen victim to him. There's no pattern to his targets."

"But one thing is certain: every person who died at his hands had their soul extracted. It's obvious he's conducting some inhumane experiment."

At this point, the middle-aged man's tone grew heavier, and he gritted his teeth, clearly hating this spiritual criminal deeply.

"It's been half a year since this bastard last committed a crime. I thought he had given up on the experiment, but I didn't expect him to pop up again today! And he committed the crime in broad daylight! How arrogant!"

Xia Feng: "..."

"Isn't that what you said?"

The talkative middle-aged man turned around, as if seeking approval.

"Ah? Yes!"

Xia Feng nodded seriously, filled with righteous indignation, "Arrogant! Too arrogant! If I catch this kind of inhuman and evil person, I'll definitely—I'll definitely beat him until he cries and calls for daddy!"

"?"

He looked at Xia Feng in surprise. Is this the new interrogation method used by this generation of young people? It's quite perverted.

He shook his head and put down the detector, "Alright, this spiritual criminal has escaped into the academy. I'll inform the higher-ups of your academy about this matter. You'd better be careful."

As he spoke, the middle-aged man took a step and jumped directly to the roof of the opposite building. With another jump, he disappeared in a few steps.

"Phew~~~"

He secretly breathed a sigh of relief and looked at his watch.

7:08 PM

He muttered quietly, "Really, I'll wait for her for two more minutes. If she doesn't come, I'm leaving."

One minute and fifty seconds later.

There were obvious footsteps behind him. Xia Feng didn't turn around but just looked at the moonlit sky with his hands behind his back.

Xia Feng: "You're here."

Mu Qingtong: "?"

She paused, "Sorry, I'm late. Here are two grams of Infinite Stone. Take it."

As she said this, she casually tossed the box.

"!"

Xia Feng was so startled that he abandoned his pose and quickly turned around to catch the box.

Really, this woman always plays by her own rules.

Xia Feng gently lifted the lid of the box to reveal a small gap. Inside lay two small stones with dazzling black and gold light. One of them faintly emitted a red glow.

"This box can't prevent quantization. The one emitting red light has three hours left, and the other has one month. I recommend you use it as soon as possible, or it'll easily quantize into an unobservable quantum body and disappear."

The woman in the black dress said this, waved her hand, and turned to leave.

"I have something else to do. I'm leaving now."

Xia Feng watched her resolute back and was stunned for a moment before reacting, "Only three hours left? Hey! You're too cruel!"

The figure of the woman in the black dress disappeared, and Xia Feng had no choice but to curse as he quickly closed the box after completing the identification.

The Infinite Stone was a mysterious substance. Without special storage measures, it would gradually quantize itself and enter the legendary quantum dimension—what Mu Qingtong had called "quantization."

The quantized Infinite Stone couldn't be observed in the world, effectively disappearing.

That's why Mu Qingtong had reminded him to use it as soon as possible.

Xia Feng: "No, time is running out!"

After thinking for a moment, Xia Feng waited a few minutes to ensure Mu Qingtong wasn't secretly watching. Then he quickly went downstairs to find an experimental classroom, locked the door, and pushed aside the tables and chairs.

He placed the summoning materials on the tile floor.

Xia Feng dripped faded ink and elephant fish blood into a beaker, waited for the liquid to boil, then poured in world tree branch powder and dragon god's spirit. He stirred it evenly and let it cool for a minute until it turned into a fiery red magma-like fluid. He then bit his thumb and pressed his fingertip into the fluid.

Instantly, the fluid attached to and wrapped around his thumb, and white mist began to rise into the air.

Xia Feng frowned slightly, enduring the pain as he quickly carved a formation on the ground—up, down, left, right.

Finally, a flame-red pattern suddenly unfolded on the ground. Xia Feng took out the Infinite Stone emitting a faint red light and placed it in the hollow circle at the center of the formation.

At the same time, his black eyes sharpened, and he formed a seal with one hand.

"The gate to the world, the infinite space!"

As he shouted solemnly, the entire snowflake-shaped formation burst into golden light. The Infinite Stone in the center melted instantly, and a two-meter-high golden vertical crack appeared in the space above.

Xia Feng looked up nervously and saw the vertical crack expand horizontally in the blink of an eye, turning into a dazzling golden door.

"Amazing, so this is the 'Gate to the World.'"

He walked around the tall door in surprise. The front and back of the door were filled with white light.

Seeing that he couldn't figure out what was going on, he didn't hesitate and took a step forward.

His body passed through the light gate, but he didn't enter any different space. Instead, he walked out directly and came to the other side of the gate.

But the lines of the formation on the ground rose into the light gate, and suddenly—the gate closed.

The dark classroom returned to silence. Xia Feng stood there, his eyes empty.
