" i overheard when she asked you to lunch under the pretense of a 'Thank you' lunch date" kael shrugged.
"You see both you and the princess are clueless on what you want. The princess believed that i am the man of her dreams simply because i was uninterested in her unlike other men. Meanwhile you, you have never really been interested in any woman and i for one know you have had eyes on katerina since the first time she and her dead parents visited my father at salem when we were 8. So as a good friend which i am, i created an avenue for you two to get close" He added with a smirk displayed across his face.
" So you sent me to the katerina last night on purpose,... For this"
"You're welcome, now run along and get prepared to woo your princess" he said along as he entered the bathroom leaving me alone in the room. I just casually walked out and shut the door behind, like he said i need to prepare to woo my princess, i smiled at the thought of that.
KAEL'S P.O.V
"Good morning,love." She didn't answer me. "Still angry i see," i sat down on the chair opposite her the cool morning breeze blowing through my face.
"Where did you go to last night" seraph finally said looking at me like an angry cat cute
" It was you who asked me to leave and go back to one of countless women. I just followed your command" her mouth flew open, tears were already brimming in her eyes.
"Be calm, i was at the mountain side with the people and if you decide not to believe me this time again you can go over and find out from them" i said nonchalantly trying to hide the fact that she not believing me made me upset. I heard her sigh probably from relief or frustration i don't know and i didn't bother to find out.
"I believe you" she said after a moment with a smile.
"But i have been meaning to ask you, what about all your mistresses, did you leave them behind?" I stood up from where i was sitted. "I have none" i said and left the breakfast place. I know she will definitely be thinking about that for a while. "Sire, can i see you for a moment" lenord's voice interrupted my inner gloating. He sounded rather worried, my expression turned serious in an instant "what is it" we moved to a quiet private area.
" Status report, Richard has left with 7 other men to scout the island.
I and five other men intercepted a royal supply moving from Salem to Eshtoreth. When we opened the supplies, they were mostly filled with items for wedding rites.
Permit me to say this, sire, i think prince Kanan is trying to find you in all the kingdoms by marrying princesses from each kingdom to create an alliance between the kingdoms." Lenord reported everything at once.
"And my prince, i got an information that the only kingdoms he hasnt checked are Eshtoreth and Argard". I heaved in frustration when i heard that
"The men in charge of finding routes, have they made any progress?" I asked him
"They are checking out a few possible fast routes"
"Each of you on assignments must hurry, time is no longer on our sides. Keep an eye on Arid"
KING ARID'S P.O.V
"Why did you have me come all the way here, i have a kingdom to run" kanan said impatienly when i arrived at the agreed meeting point.
"Shut up, kanan, if not for the common purpose which we now share, you know very well that i will never ask or agree to meet you and you better watch your tone around me, i am not a child." I responded harshly.
This prince always had a way of getting on my nerves, its as if arrogance runs deep in their familly.
"And what common purpose might that be"
"Prince kael, i want him to suffer. I can give you his present location and i am ready to hand him over to you tonight, but i want something" i said looking straight at him under the night sky. There was silence for a while only the sounds of crickets chirping could be heard.
"By ''hand him over to me', do you mean he has been in your kingdom all this while? And what do do you want." He said with a weird tone, i assume was anger, i couldn't really quite see his face because the night's darkness was thick tonight.
"He arrive in my kingdom about a day or two ago and as for what i want, i want kael's wife. You can have him but his wife remains". I want to watch her shed tears like how he caused my sister tears. "You want his wife. You do know that kael will never go anywhere without his wife, he would rather die than let anyone tak his wife".
I smiled "and is that suppose to make me afraid" my smile turned to a smirk. "I thought your plan was to kill him, let me worry about his wife. You,worry about killing kael and leave his wife to me"
"Why should i do that, give me a reason and i will let it go,... I also want seraphine for myself…'' he grinned widely showing off his dirty teeth. "So if i am to give her up i will like to know why. And it better be a really convincing reason".
I looked him up and down, he already has more than ten wives and he still wants his younger brother's wife. 'and they say i am the man whore' i said to myself. " Kael is all yours, if you even try to take his wife with you, i will burn down your whole kingdom with you in it" i threatened him and walked out " Go and come back with your men, before he realises i am betraying him". I disappeared back into the tunnel i came from.
