Chapter 14 - chapter 14

Kaylee watched Ivaander from behind and it felt like she was reaching out to him and he continued to move further and further away.

Nothing but darkness surrounded them both, and suddenly the light shined brightly it blinded her completely.

She blinked— and realized she was sitting on the table as Mark, Justin and Tiffany approached the area. Ivaander looking at them all, as the group stopped and spoke to him.

The muffled voices of them all, as Kaylee was so far deep in her own mind— she wasn't paying any attention to them. She continued to reply that same motion again and again.

Ivaander almost touching her chin, only but a fingertip away, as he decided not too, and all she could think about was the why.

She also continued think of what he told her— how she was alluring— a word she never heard someone say to her. That— and the fact that pretending to be something she was not?

What could he have possibly mean by that— she was pretending to be something she wasn't? — maybe— or maybe not. All she knew now was she was so lost in her thoughts it was beginning to irritate.

She wanted everyone to leave her and Ivaander alone long enough for them to have a better understand of each other. It was just like when Tiffany interrupted them when they were at the library and the bell ringing.

It was as if the universe was against them or something or maybe it was a warning to stay away from him. Kaylee didn't know for sure, all she could continue to do was guess again and again.

" Oh wow! So you really aren't from around here. I figured as much. " Mark stated aloud towards Ivaander.

Who was the center of attention right now, because he was swarmed with the group, and with them asking him questions.

" Is that why you and Kaylee were speaking alone? Hmm ? Do you like my friend or something? " Justin questioned.

Kaylee ears popped hearing that alone— making her snap out of her trans and jolt up from the table. Walking over towards Justin as she slapped his arm.

" Ouch! Hey. What? " Justin asked her.

Kaylee squinting her orbs down at him and tossing her arms to the side.

" What the fuck do you mean what? Why would you ask him that ! We don't even know each other ! " she barked.

Tiffany arching a brow a bit and shifting her orbs over towards Ivaander whom watched in silence. Tiffany crossing her orbs over her chest and looking back at Justin and Kaylee.

" Hey... look it don't take that long for a playa to know if he feeling a girl, ight. " Justin commented.

" Right. " Mark added.

" Ugh! Idiots. " Kaylee chimed in to say.

" Well I only spoken to her twice— so I am not sure quite yet— how I feel about her... " Ivaander would finally state aloud at Justin's question. His finger tapping his jaw in a ponder.

Justin, Mark, Tiffany and Kaylee all turning to look over at him as Kaylee feeling a hint of embarrassment and wanting to scream.

She needed to get Ivaander away from this or they would all bombard him with questions pertaining to her. This would turn bad rather quickly if she lets that happen.

" Sooo you not objective to it? " Mark asked arching a brow.

Ivaander looked over at Mark, as Tiffany chimed in to ask a question herself.

" Hey- what's with your eyes? Are they like contacts or what? "

" Uhh— " Ivaander would think to himself, blinking cluelessly at her remark.

" Con—tacts? " he stated confusingly.

Kaylee quickly intervened and grabbed Ivaander's left hand and pulled him along with her. Grabbing her items from the table and walking away from the group.

" That's enough. Let's get you out of here before they make you lose brain cells. " Kaylee commented.

Ivaander a bit stunned by Kaylee's bluntness noticed that she was holding his hand, rather than pulling his arm.

The male looking at the back of her head, as the two were the same height. Ivaander forming a small smirk as he was thankful she did pull him away when she did.

However, he felt he could show that gratitude by locking hands with her in return. Which the male did so, entwining their fingers together, causing Kaylee to stop in her tracks.

Her face blushing once again, as she looked down at their hands entwined and looked back up at the other. Ivaander, looking at Kaylee, as the two stared at one another.

Kaylee feeling a chill up her spine, as his hand was warm to the touch. She felt like she could faint in second now— as the feeling she felt was overwhelming.

She couldn't even speak let alone, make eye contact but she couldn't do anything else other than stare at his face. Tiffany and the gang caught up again, and Tiffany watched a bit.

Her face started to turn ill, as she felt a sense of shock and anger inside, before Mark intervened and spoke aloud.

" Mmm we interrupting something or? . " he said aloud, causing Kaylee and Ivaander to unlock fingers and look at him.

" Huh? What— no— I'm just pulling him away from you guys before you question him like he's a damn celebrity. " Kaylee quickly stated.

Ivaander glancing over at her to hear her words, which made him internal smirk devilishly.

" Oh come on... we just wanna talk to your new little friend here. I mean after all— if he's going to continue to be around you— that means he's gonna see us more as well too. " Justin remarked.

Tiffany pondering for a long time silently before she formed a fake smile against her lips. Walking up towards Ivaander and Kaylee a bit more.

" Justin's right. Which brings me to this— What was your name again? " she asked him.

Ivaander looking over at Tiffany.

" Ivaander. " he told her.

" Yeah.. Ivaander. Why don't you come to our senior party tonight. " she told him, which made Kaylee orbs widened.

" What?! " Kaylee exclaimed.

" Oh yeah! Come through! " Justin stated pulling out a bag of chips and started to eat them.

" Mhm! We having a senior party tonight, you should slide through. " Mark chimed in to also say.

Tiffany smirking devilishly as she accomplished her first goal, as she looked back at Kaylee to see her expression. Her lips parting to speak towards her with a shrug.

" What's the matter Kay? You don't want your new friend coming? I mean— any friend of your's is a friend of ours. "

Kaylee narrowed her orbs down at Tiffany, knowing precisely what she was doing, as the two eyed each other like they wanted one of them to explode.

Ivaander noticing the two women giving each other a death glare, however he was more concerned about Kaylee's comment.

Though Ivaander had his own agenda in mind, which he looked over at the group entirely, and then back at Tiffany.

" Why — I'd love to come, if that's alright with you Ms. Tiffany. " he stated cheerfully his accent hard.

Kaylee quickly looked over at Ivaander with a stunned expression. Her inability to believe he'd agree to come along.

Kaylee felt as though she could pass out any second now, Ivaander coming to the party was all the more reason now she no longer wanted to attend it.

" Great! " Tiffany exclaimed, as she glanced over at Kaylee quickly almost like a teasing expression, before shifting her orbs back to Ivaander.

" Gimme your phone— and I'll put my number inside so I can text you the address. " Tiffany told him as she got closer to him and stood by his side.

Ivaander blinked a bit as Tiffany grabbed his arm and pulled him to the side alone as the two exchanged information.

Kaylee watching like a hawk, before Justin walked over towards Kaylee and stood beside her.

" Damn girl— take a picture — it'll last longer. " he remarked, although Kaylee didn't pay attention him.

She was too busy eyeing Tiffany as she was laughing and rubbing her polished fingernails all over Ivaander's arm.

' Fucking slut. ' Kaylee thought.

" Yooo — earth to Kay... " Justin said waving his hand in front of her face now.

Kaylee blinked and turned her head towards Justin.

" Huh? Sorry what— " Kaylee remarked, as Justin shook his head at her.

" Man— look you know Tiffany got a man— ain't no reason to be jealous. "

" I'm not jealous. " Kay quickly commented.

Justin chuckled at her words that sounded so quick and also vicious.

" Right— and I'm going to be the next black president. " Justin replied.

Ivaander and Tiffany eventually stopped speaking as Tiffany waved goodbye, as the male headed off. Kaylee watching as the male decided to leave without so much as a word to her.

Frankly, she didn't know why she cared, but she did— perhaps a thank you was in order she felt she deserved. After all she was trying to assist him, with getting away.

Then— there was them speaking first, and he told Tiffany goodbye but didn't bother to at least come back and say goodbye to her.

Kaylee tried to not let it bother her, as Tiffany tossed her blonde her and winked at Kaylee almost like taunting her.

She didn't know if Tiffany was just being so cocky that all that blonde hair dye was getting to her brain, or she was too stupid to realize they both shared an apartment together.

Nevertheless, this wouldn't be the last time Tiffany and Kaylee talk about what just happened. Luckily, they didn't have classes tomorrow, so that made this much easier.

In addition, the party wasn't until 9pm which means Kay could spend a good chuck of time getting on Tiffany's ass about what transpired.
