"Thank you, Senior."

"You're welcome. For now, use the standard mecha provided by the Mecha Association to learn with. Once you have your own custom mecha later on, you can switch to training with that," Xing Yu said. "By the way, Junior, do you have any specific ideas about the type and functionality of the mecha you want?"

"Yes. I'd prefer something lightweight since I plan to eventually fuse my mecha with battle armor for combat. As for functionality, I'm more focused on amplification—both in mecha form and, if possible, upgrading it to a red-grade mecha in the future. In single combat scenarios, it should be able to transform into a spear-like medium to manifest and amplify my martial soul, providing a second layer of enhancement."

Xing Yu blinked as he looked at Xu Yuan.

What an ambitious goal.

Even I, your senior, am not yet a red-grade mech pilot.

"Haha, your vision is excellent. Having a clear goal will keep you steadfast in your journey. I hope you'll soon possess your own red-grade mecha."

"I'll take your auspicious words to heart."

After a brief exchange, Xing Yu introduced Xu Yuan to the other two students.

"They're just here for credits, so don't pick up any bad habits from them," Xing Yu said bluntly.

The two seniors felt quite awkward.

"Junior, do you have any prior experience controlling mechas?"

"No," Xu Yuan shook his head, but hesitated for a moment before adding, "However, I'm familiar with the control systems and internal mechanisms of mechas."

He had personally built two or three complete mechas, so he was naturally well-versed in their control systems and internal components.

"Oh? Looks like you've done your homework."

Being familiar with the systems and mechanisms already showed that he was taking this course seriously and had prepared in advance.

"Alright, give it a try then," Xing Yu said after some thought, deciding to let Xu Yuan test his mecha-controlling aptitude first.

With his strength, even if Xu Yuan made a mistake, Xing Yu could easily suppress a standard yellow-grade mecha instantly.

Xing Yu waved his right hand, and a yellow standard mecha appeared on the open ground.

"Go ahead and get inside."

Xu Yuan nodded, opened the mecha, and swiftly entered the cockpit.

This standard yellow mecha stood five meters tall, and its spacious interior allowed Xu Yuan plenty of room to move around comfortably. It was a relatively comfortable model.

However, this was a large mecha, not the lightweight type Xu Yuan had mentioned wanting earlier.

Standard mechas didn't come in small, lightweight variants; those would need to be custom-made by mech pilots themselves.

"The design blueprints for standard mechas are more lenient, and their production is highly standardized, making them suitable for most soul masters. Additionally, one advantage is that their control systems are the most basic, serving as a foundational learning tool for operating any kind of mecha," Xing Yu explained.

"You have a lot of space to move, but don't fidget around in the cockpit. Sit in the proper posture on your seat, ensuring each part of your body is in close contact with the corresponding control mechanisms."

Following Xing Yu's instructions, Xu Yuan quickly positioned his feet on their respective spots below, which controlled energy output and shutdown switches. His hands gripped the handles on both sides, which controlled the mecha's arms. He closed the open ports on either side of his legs, encasing them to allow movement of his legs to correspond with the mecha's leg controls.

His right hand's five fingers were poised over the buttons on the handle, ready to press them to perform various actions with the mecha's arms.

Additionally, there was a stabilizing sensor belt around his waist, a crucial device for adjusting the mecha's balance.

Once all preparations were complete, Xing Yu released the control permissions for the mecha.

Xu Yuan infused his soul power into the core formation within the mecha.

Mecha operation typically relied on a soul master's soul power, especially for high-level soul masters whose soul power was sufficient to operate such a massive machine in combat.

However, for lower-level soul masters—those below Level 60—it was uncommon to rely solely on their own soul power to operate a mecha.

Soul masters below Level 60 usually had liquid-phase soul power, which, when compared to the compressed energy stored within a mecha, might not necessarily be superior in quality.

Of course, the quality of the compressed energy within a mecha depended on the mecha's grade. The standard yellow-grade mecha Xu Yuan was currently piloting contained energy equivalent to a typical Great Soul Master's level.

While this quality wasn't as good as Xu Yuan's soul power, in terms of quantity, it was still more cost-effective to rely on the mecha's internal energy.

By infusing his soul power now, Xu Yuan was activating the core formation within the mecha to establish a connection between his soul power and the mecha's internal energy.

Under his control, streams of energy coursed through the mecha.

Everything proceeded according to standard procedures.

Some of Xu Yuan's soul power flowed alongside the energy within the core formation. If a burst of power was needed, his soul power could instantly replace the mecha's internal energy to achieve higher performance.

This was a technique he had learned from studying relevant materials.

"Alright, Junior, you can now try controlling the mecha's movements," Xing Yu called out.

The mecha began to move under Xu Yuan's control, first raising its right hand in front of itself as if examining it, performing various motions. Then it did the same with the left hand, followed by stepping forward.

Xu Yuan carefully observed everything, correlating the mecha's movements with the input he gave through the various control buttons.

Once the correlation was complete, he started attempting more advanced maneuvers—jumping, running, and even trying somersaults.

As Xing Yu watched Xu Yuan skillfully control the mecha, quickly mastering its functions as if merging with it and performing human-like movements, his eyes lit up.

"This junior truly has a natural talent for mecha control!"

He's a born mech pilot!

"Junior, relying solely on the control mechanisms can only take you so far. For finer control, you need to channel your soul power through the core formation, integrating it into every part of the mecha and regulating the formations in each joint with your soul power!" Xing Yu reminded him.

Xu Yuan didn't respond because he was already attempting it.

He directed his soul power to the joint of his right index finger, pushing the formation to activate. Instantly, the mecha's right index finger began to bend.

"This also tests one's mastery over soul power," Xu Yuan thought to himself.

Suddenly, an idea struck him.

Spear momentum manipulation.

The small confined space enveloped by the mecha was now under Xu Yuan's spear momentum control. He infused his spirit, energy, and focus into this space.

His control skyrocketed!

Simultaneously, he used this heightened control to assist in fine-tuning his mecha operations. After quickly adapting, he began using the mecha for basic drills and even practicing spear techniques.

Watching Xu Yuan's impressive maneuvers, Xing Yu outside was utterly stunned.

Wait… how are you doing all this right after starting?
