While Lilly and Kenny were having a stand-off, Clementine went back to the retail area to look at Larry, who was convulsing in pain and squirming on the ground. His whimpers reached Lilly's ears, and in desperation, she dashed toward Kenny, who was standing in front of her, and pushed him into the door knocking the air out of him and breaking the lock inside triggering the sensor, however, the door still wasn't opened, Katjaa, Clem and Doug heard the commotion. While Doug was keeping watch, Clementine and Katjaa ran toward the office.

Buuuuzzzz!

Buuuuzzzzz!

Clementine and Katjaa stopped in their tracks while Doug was visibly frightened while looking at the incoming deads outside that will soon break in. All of them turned to the barricade that was about to be broken. Doug quickly went over and leaned against the weakest one, stopping it from falling apart. The next was barricade on the left, with rotting hands sticking in and flailing around trying to grab something alive.

Growl!

Thud!

Crack!

Grraa!

Suddenly one of the planks behind Doug broke and a hand came from outside, digging its claws into his face, Clem quickly ran over to pull him out of the dead's grasp, but by the time she got to him, there were two more on him, pulling him outside.

Clem watched in horror as Doug was sucked outside his stomach was tore open, his body twitched as they picked him apart slowly but surely, his screams stopped when they sunk their teeth into his throat. The makeshift barricade finally broke, forcing Clem to run back to the office, Katjaa had already pulled Duck inside and held the door open yelling for Clementine to get inside. Then, she felt a pull from behind and saw Lilly run past her.

Lilly had escaped Kenny, who was restraining her, stopping her from making any more rash decisions, but she soon escaped him and ran into the retail area.

"Dad!" Lilly screamed and grabbed his arm, trying to pull him inside, but he was one behemoth of a man. The dead had gotten inside, filling the room one by one. Though Clementine had reached the door, she couldn't let another one of them die.

She grabbed Larry's other arm and pulled him inside the office with Lilly. It was a good thing that Larry had moved next to the office before his attack. Katjaa and Clem held the door close, while Duck and Kenny pushed the heavy table in front of it.

The loud banging on the door continued as did the alarm; their hearts were racing, sweat forming on their forehead. Kenny couldn't decide where to take his family, and Lilly kept trying to wake up her father but to no avail.

Knock!

Knock!

They heard a knock on the door. Frightened, they were dead, being surrounded by both sides. "Clementine!" they hear Wesker from outside. "Kenny!"

Clementine runs to the door, opens it, and jumps into his arms. He embraces her with one hand as the other holds a bloodied axe. Kenny laughed maniacally and ran outside with Duck and Katjaa. "You're an angel Wesker," Katjaa said sweetly, while Kenny was still laughing, "I put the gas in, run to the truck." Wesker gestured and told them to get out of there.

Kenny nodded taking him family with him, while Clem was still clung to him, "Hey!" Wesker shook her, and she looked up with a saddened face. "Follow Kenny, I'll be right behind," Wesker said to her, confusing her. "We don't have the time; the truck will be surrounded before I can get her out of here," Wesker said, pushing her toward the truck.

"Move, and then think, Clementine," Wesker said and locked the alleyway exit from inside, Clem stood there frozen until katjaa came back running and dragged Clem with her as the dead began swarming the alleyway, Katjaa reached the truck as Clem came to her senses finally grasping her situation.

"Drive!" Clementine yelled. Kenny and Katjaa looked at the girl. "He said to get out of here," She said.

Kenny started the truck and rolled out of there as fast as he could, not letting the sacrifices made today be wasted.

The ride to the motel was a quiet one as they pondered on the loss of people, some friends, some survivors, and some that were more than friends.

Reaching the motel, they met with Carley leaning against the balcony, and she ran down as quickly as possible when she saw a blue truck. First to get out was Katjaa, followed by Duck, and then Kenny, and the last to get out was Clementine, still in shock.

Carley was depressed at the number of survivors that returned from the drugstore, but the most heartwrenching was "Where are the rest? Where's Wesker?" she asked, her heartbeat racing. Kenny shook his head. "You left him there?" Carley yelled. Katjaa was about to say something, but Kenny stopped her,

Carley clenched her fist, stopping her hand from shaking. 'I'm such a loser. I can't even go and save him.'

Glenn came out to the balcony. "Hey, Carley, come here, quick, you have to see her," Glenn said.

Carley went up, with the four following after her. Intrigued by who Glenn was talking about, Kenny asked, "Who's in there?"

Carley stayed silent. Reaching the balcony, she said, "A girl Wesker was trying to save." Standing in front of the door. "Heh. He's always saving someone," Kenny chuckled.

"First, Clementine, then Shawn, and now us," Katjaa said, looking down.

The door opened to a worried Glenn. "Come in, quick," Carley hurried inside and saw the girl sweating bullets; her temperature had risen abnormally high. "I-I don't think we can save her," Glenn said, looking at the ground with great sadness.

The girl slowly opened her eyes, with regret on her face, "K-ki-kill me," She pleaded with the last of her strength, "I-I can't do it," Glenn turned away, not prepared to take a life, "I-it could be because of the blood loss, what if you're still fine," Carley argued, not taking into the reality of life.

"Right, tell her, Kenny, you saw it, right? Wesker saved him; that's how it happened, right?" Carley turned to Kenny in desperation

She was adamant on proving Wesker right, that his decision was right. He said he could save her. Was it also a lie? Carley shook her head of the negative thoughts.

Having not seen the boy, Kenny wasn't sure whether he survived or not, as Hershel had kicked them out before anything. His silence only brought misery to Carley.

"I-It was a gamble," The girl said meekly, "And I lost. Now, kill me before I turn, I beg you," tears streaming down her face.

"I don't wanna become a demon; please, kill me."

Carley clenched her fists as tears formed in her eyes, her hands shook as if vibrating, she slowly drew her gun and sent everyone outside. As the gate closed behind her, the tears flowed as she looked at the girl. "It's not your fault," The girl mouthed as she lost the strength to speak.

Carley put a pillow over the girl's face and pulled the trigger.

Blam!

Her hand lost the will to hold the gun, and she let go of it and stood over her, watching her lifeless body. Her hands trembled. Fear? Fear of tomorrow that will claim even more lives.

Outside the room, the group heard the muffled gunshot ring out. Glenn was next to a car; he found the key and was listening to the radio. His hand tightened on the door as he heard the gunshot. "I think I need to go," Glenn said, feeling remorse for how things turned out here and now in Atlanta.

"I don't think that's the right call," Kenny said, worried that the group was slowly thinning out.

"Maybe. But I'd rather make the wrong call and know than make the right call and not."

"See you guys," Glenn bid them farewell and drove the car toward Altana.

Carley watched from above; the alarm in the distance still rang with the same ferocity as before.
