Jack's POV
That honeymoon almost became the death of me. I almost didn't survive it. Staying a week with Katherine in that honeymoon suite was the hardest thing I had ever done in my life and I counted down to the day we were finally going to be home and I was going to have my own room to myself.
When I was finally going to have peace.
When we got home—to my house—I gave her the rules to live by and she seemed too eager to comply. I couldn't tell how much disappointing that was.
It was like she didn't want to stay with me if she had a choice. I was glad I didn't put her in the room next to mine. I didn't want a reminder that the woman sleeping so close to me didn't want me. That would have killed me.
I was getting to work tomorrow. I had a lot to do to leave my company behind.
