Katherine's POV
I exhaled, feeling like I could finally breathe when I saw Jack packing his bag for his business trip. I felt like I had been underwater for days and this was my first attempt of getting in oxygen into my parched and aching lungs.
It had been hell stuck at home with him because of his grandfather and knowing he would rather be somewhere else. What was the point of a couple stuck at home if they wouldn't talk to each other or do what couples were meant to do?
Enough of feeling sorry about my loveless, sexless marriage and being miserable.
"Be good." He said, stopping at the door and glancing back at me.
"I will."
I had just one more day before I had to get back to work. Hopefully, I would be able to force Jack out of my system when I get busy.
He waited for a moment at the door, staring at me and my stupid heart leaped, assuming that he wanted to come back to give me a kiss like any other husband would do before a trip.
