I shake the feeling off.
"The date's not happening," I snap.
"Well, that's funny," he says, pulling out his phone casually. "Because I just talked to her. She said she was finishing something and coming down."
I let out a dark laugh. "Seeing as I'm her boss and I gave her work that'll take at least…" I check my watch, deliberately slow. "…two hours, I'd say this little fantasy of yours ends here."
"I suggest you go home," I say, leaning closer, venom dripping from every word. "Back the fuck off."
But he just smiles. That smug, infuriating smile.
"Well, here's the thing," Sebastian says, sinking back into a chair like he owns the damn building.
"Knowing Casey? How beautiful, loyal, and amazing she is. And... oh, right, the fact that she's a Blackwell…"
"She's not a Blackwell," I snap, instantly.
He shrugs. "Still connected. And clearly, she means a lot to you.... That tells me everything I need to know."
