Chapter 42: The Gods' Reaction
The God Realm.
Clouds swirled and shifted in endless forms sometimes rolling like ocean waves, sometimes as serene as a sleeping beauty. Their transformations followed no fixed pattern, yet each change carried an undeniable sense of grandeur and beauty.
An immense concentration of celestial energy filled the mist. If an ordinary human could step into this place and breathe in just once, they would extend their lifespan by ten years.
Of course, absorbing too much of this divine energy would be disastrous for a mortal just like over nourishment could lead to death.
In the highest region of the God Realm, magnificent golden palaces gleamed under divine radiance. This was the supreme center of power, the place that governed all things within the realm.
The God Realm Committee.
This council was responsible for judging deities, overseeing the balance of the divine laws, and maintaining order across all controlled dimensions.
Inside the main hall, an octagonal chamber, the walls were undecorated yet filled with countless shifting projections. Each of these floating screens represented a different planet, a world under the God Realm's jurisdiction.
Here, the gods observed and monitored entire galaxies though their definition of "galaxy" was different from the vast infinite cosmos known in modern science.
At the center of the hall sat a round table, around which five figures were seated.
Or rather five supreme gods.
Beyond these five deities, there once existed a being of even greater power a Creator God.
This Creator God had sacrificed themselves to birth the God Realm, splitting their essence into five divine seeds, which eventually evolved into five supreme gods.
Thus, the five ruling gods of the God Realm represented different fundamental forces:
Good and Evil embodied thoughts and emotions.Life and Destruction formed the foundation of existence if Good and Evil were the "sky," then Life and Destruction were the "earth."Shura, the god of judgment and balance, mediated between them, maintaining cosmic order.
These five gods governed all things within their domain, and their authority was absolute.
At this moment, their collective gaze was locked onto a particular screen.
A blurry, distorted image flickered across it as if someone had deliberately censored the view.
This mysterious distortion originated from one specific world: Douluo Continent.
The God Realm oversaw 108 different dimensions, each corresponding to a specific planet within a vast galactic system.
From a modern scientific perspective, their "cosmic domain" wasn't as grand as it sounded it was merely a galaxy scale jurisdiction, rather than controlling the entire universe.
This realization significantly reduced the God Realm's sense of grandeur…
"Six days ago, this 'Douluo Continent' dimension suddenly vanished from our control."
The God of Shura, seated at the head of the table, spoke in a solemn tone.
Due to the differences in time flow, one day in the God Realm equaled one year in the mortal world. Hence, what seemed like six days here had been six years on Douluo Continent.
"Could this be the work of those damned Dragon God remnants?"
The God of Destruction furrowed his brows, his killing intent surging.
The Dragon God a powerful deity who had once ascended from the lower world was infamous in the God Realm's history.
The Dragon God's Rebellion
Eons ago, the Dragon God had ascended from the mortal realm, becoming a supreme deity.
This being was the progenitor of all dragon kind, wielding an unparalleled natural talent. Without inheriting any existing divine throne, he forged his own path to godhood, attaining two supreme divinities Destruction and Creation.
Upon ascending, the Dragon God absorbed pure divine energy, instantly surpassing the ranks of third tier, second tier, and first tier gods, and directly becoming a God King on equal footing with the five ruling deities.
Even more terrifying he was a dual God King!
In one on one combat, none of the five supreme gods were his match.
Naturally, the Five Great Gods viewed him as an uncontrollable threat. After all, this was their realm having an unstoppable force suddenly appear among them was intolerable.
Thus, the God Realm Committee sought to restrain the Dragon God.
But why would a being as powerful as the Dragon God submit to their rule?
In the mortal realm, he had been a supreme ruler. Now, in the divine realm, he was a force of nature itself.
If the Five Great Gods individually couldn't defeat him, why should he bow to their authority?
Tensions escalated and war erupted.
At the time, magical beasts and soul beasts were allowed to ascend to the God Realm if they cultivated sufficiently, forming their own Divine Beast hierarchy.
However, divine beasts were always treated as lesser beings mere servants to the humanoid gods.
Despite their intelligence matching that of humans, divine beasts were seen as tools rather than equals.
But now a leader had risen among them.
The Dragon God gave them a cause to fight for freedom from oppression.
And so, divine beasts rose in rebellion against the gods.
The war engulfed the entire God Realm.
In the end, the Five Great Gods led an all out assault, commanding the divine pantheon to eradicate the rebellion.
Even though the Dragon God possessed unrivaled individual power, he was ultimately outnumbered.
The war concluded with divine beasts' defeat.
The Dragon God was slain his divine consciousness and soul annihilated.
But in his final moment, he split his essence into two beings
The Golden Dragon King, who inherited unparalleled physical strength, indestructible defenses, and the power of Destruction.The Silver Dragon King, who wielded supreme elemental control commanding water, fire, earth, wind, light, and darkness, as well as the power of Creation.
This final act of defiance unleashed a cataclysmic energy surge.
To prevent future threats, the God Realm Committee ordered their total extermination.
The Golden Dragon King was trapped within the God Realm, but even the Five Great Gods could not kill him.
In his last stand, he sealed himself inside an impenetrable cocoon, created from his own divine core.
The gods failed to break this seal, so they imprisoned him indefinitely.
As for the Silver Dragon King?
She escaped into the dimensional void, vanishing without a trace.
Now, in the Present
Seeing Douluo Continent's sudden anomaly, the God of Destruction's first instinct was to blame the Silver Dragon King the last surviving heir of the Dragon God's will.
"Has that damned dragon finally returned…?"
His expression darkened.
Something major was happening on Douluo Continent.
And the God Realm needed to find out what fast.
