I had expected them to kick me out.
Or at least, for Damon to try.
But instead—
They just kept working.
Like I wasn't even here.
Which was annoying.
Mara and I sat in the corner, watching as Kieran and Damon flipped through documents, occasionally discussing things too quietly for my human ears to pick up.
"This is ridiculous," Damon muttered, scratching something onto a paper. "She's literally just sitting there."
"She's not bothering anyone," Kieran replied smoothly, not looking up.
Damon shot me a pointed glare. "Yet."
I smirked. "I could start."
"Don't."
I huffed, leaning back in my chair. "This is boring."
"We told you that already," Kieran murmured.
I scowled, watching the way he stayed perfectly focused, his dark eyes flicking across the papers in front of him.
He was ignoring me on purpose.
And for some stupid reason, that made my frustration worse.
Twenty minutes passed.
Then thirty.
