POV: Male Lead (Ahn Min-jae)
Min-jae sat in his dimly lit office, the black envelope from Chairman Seo resting on his desk like a forbidden curse. His fingers hovered over it, hesitation creeping in. Did he really want to know the truth about his father?
Ha-neul sat across from him, her arms crossed. "Min-jae, I don't trust this. Chairman Seo has his own agenda. What if this is just another manipulation?"
Min-jae exhaled sharply. "Maybe it is. But what if it's not?"
He picked up the envelope and tore it open. Inside were neatly stacked documents, a USB drive, and a set of old photographs. His heart pounded as he pulled out the first sheet.
Confidential Transaction Records – Ahn Dae-hyun
His father's name was stamped across multiple illegal deals—money laundering, bribery, hidden accounts offshore. Min-jae's breath caught in his throat as he flipped through the pages.
Then, he saw something that made his blood run cold.
Project "Black Sun" – 20 years ago
A familiar name appeared on the document: Seo Group Lawsuit – CEO Seo Joon-hyuk vs. Ahn Dae-hyun
His father had framed Chairman Seo's father, causing the downfall of the Seo family's original empire. Worse, the documents hinted at something even darker—evidence that his father might have been involved in Seo Joon-hyuk's death.
Min-jae's hands trembled. He barely noticed Ha-neul moving beside him until she whispered, "Oh my god…"
She was holding the old photographs. Min-jae leaned closer and saw a woman.
A beautiful young woman, standing beside Ahn Dae-hyun.
His father… and another woman.
Ha-neul turned to him, her voice barely above a whisper. "Min-jae… this woman… she looks like you."
A realization struck him like lightning.
Could this woman be… his real mother?
His chest tightened, his mind spinning. His father had always been cold, distant. Could this be why?
His entire life had been a lie.
Min-jae clenched his fists. If his father had hidden this from him, what else was he hiding?
Ha-neul placed a hand on his arm. "Min-jae… what are you going to do?"
His jaw tightened. He needed to find out the whole truth.
And for that, he had to confront Ahn Dae-hyun himself.
