POV: Male Lead (Min-jae)
The city lights blurred past as Min-jae drove through the dimly lit streets, his fingers gripping the steering wheel tightly. The unknown caller had sent him an address—an abandoned warehouse near the docks.
It was a setup, no doubt. But Min-jae wasn't afraid. He needed answers.
Beside him, Ha-neul sat silently, her gaze locked on the road ahead. "Are you sure about this?" she asked.
"No," he admitted. "But I don't have a choice."
They arrived at the warehouse, the scent of salt and rust filling the air. A single light flickered above the entrance. As they stepped inside, shadows moved in the darkness.
A man stood at the far end of the warehouse, his back turned. He was tall, dressed in a sharp black suit, his silver hair glinting under the dim light.
Min-jae's instincts screamed danger.
The man turned, revealing a face lined with experience, his cold eyes locked onto Min-jae.
"So, you actually came," the man said, his voice smooth but chilling.
"Who are you?" Min-jae demanded.
The man smirked. "Call me Chairman Seo."
Ha-neul stiffened beside him. "Seo… as in Seo Group?"
Chairman Seo chuckled. "Ah, so you're familiar with my company. Good. That means you understand that I don't make empty threats."
Min-jae narrowed his eyes. "What do you want from me?"
Seo's expression darkened. "Your father has taken everything from me. Now, I want to take everything from him."
Min-jae remained silent, waiting for more.
Seo took a slow step forward. "You and I share a common enemy, Kang Min-jae. Your father is a liar, a manipulator, and a thief. He ruined my family years ago. Now, it's time for payback."
Min-jae clenched his fists. He knew his father wasn't innocent, but was he truly the monster this man described?
Ha-neul spoke up. "Why involve Min-jae? If you want revenge, go after Kang Dae-hyun yourself."
Seo's smirk widened. "Because the best way to destroy a man… is through his own blood."
Min-jae's jaw tightened. "You think I'll betray my father?"
Seo took another step closer, his gaze piercing. "I think you already want to."
Min-jae inhaled sharply. He wouldn't deny the resentment he felt toward his father. But could he trust this man?
"What exactly do you want me to do?" Min-jae asked.
Seo tossed a black envelope onto a nearby crate. "Inside is everything you need to know about Kang Dae-hyun's darkest secrets. If you want the truth, open it."
Min-jae hesitated. This was dangerous.
Seo leaned in slightly. "A deal, Min-jae. You help me take your father down, and I'll make sure you don't go down with him."
Silence filled the warehouse.
Ha-neul looked at Min-jae, concern in her eyes. "Min-jae, don't rush into this."
But Min-jae already knew.
This was the moment everything would change.
He picked up the envelope.
"Deal."
