The rest of the day went by quickly.
Not much was done in the laboratory. Introductions were entertained prior to the actual lesson. Their real classes will fully commence by the following week.
Weapon class wasn't any different. He really was looking forward to training with a sword again but his excitement was annulled by the predictable trend that went by through the day.
As soon as they concluded the final lesson for the day, they had exactly 2 hours before twighlight and all were required to be in their homes by they time.
When they were dismissed, Xavier scanned the crowd for Max and found him a few seconds later at the edge of the crowd moving in the opposing direction from where he was going.
"Max!", he shouted as he hurriedly tried to dig his way through the crowd toward Max.
When he finally got through the crowd and approached Max, the two first gave each other a friendly shake.
"Hey. How was class today?"
"Fine and you?"
"Excellent. I just wanted to know if the VR will be open so I can train there for a while before heading home."
"Train! Are you already in the Syllox Force?"
"Not yet but I'll join soon."
"Okay. The VR should still be open. I was just on my way there now. Let's go."
They soon approached the VR and walked in taking in that cool and settling tech air.
"Do you smell that? That's the spice if life – Tech."
Xavier smiled and walked up to the chamber while Max went to the to start it up.
As he walked into the chamber, it was a whole new setting. The air was a bit warmer though still conducive enough, the water marching up and down the shore with some palm trees providing adequate shade in the sandy bed – the perfect training environment.
Moments later, training gear started martirialising from thin air.
He did some basic push-ups, weight lifting and ran back and forth the shore almost fie time.
[Daily quest completed]
[Reward: 10SP]
He was finally done and worked up quite a sweat in doing so.
He signalled Max to end the simulation as he walked out of the chamber.
He was exhausted. Beads of sweat running down his body.
Max was already racing down to meet Xavier when he said "I'll be heading home now. I really need a bath."
"Okay. I'll be on my way too, just need to lock up."
The two soon seperated and went their different directions.
When Xavier arrived home, he above all took a bath and made due with his light meal before he laid to bed.
He glanced through his stats again.
'What to do with these SP's'
He once again allocated all to intelligence.
[Intelligence: 70>>90]
'I think I also got a new ability. What was it again? Shapeshifting.'
What could shapeshifting really do for him.
He couldn't use it in the open, it would be too suspicious and draw unnecessary attention.
And then again if he wanted to use it secretly he would have to be careful cause he could recall spotting some security cameras round the academy corners today.
'What a useless ability.'
If not for anything, he merely just wanted to experience how the ability works, so he got up from bed and begun.
He first thought of what to turn into before he decided to imitate the General.
In a sheer second, his entire body morphed to appear like the General.
'Wow, Lyra.'
Within a split second, he mimicked Lyra's exact appearance, not leaving out any detail.
He could also sound like those he shifted into.
A wide smile surfed across his face.
He again laid down on his bed and begun synthesizing.
He could appear to look like anyone he chose at anytime. This was a huge advantage, an advantage that he could utilize to achieve self-purposes.
Though there was no signs of it but he wasn't convinced that the orb had just appeared on its own in his room, the scar on his hand gave him a confirmation to that. No, there had to be someone responsible for that.
He begun to scheme a way to draw out the culprit and acquire justice.
He thought for a while through the night before he got it, his master plan.
Some minutes later, he went to bed to get an early rise tomorrow.
The next morning, he got up one hour before classes begun. He frshened up and walked out of his house.
It was all part of his plan. He did set out as Xavier but as someone else.
He walked up to a familiar closet, picked up a mop and a bucket and begun to unsuspectingly clean the academy.
For today he was going to be the janitor.
The janitor was the only person who had unquestionable access to every room in the academy and probably knew most of the staff in the school.
He decided to start with his primary suspects. Ofcourse, the freshers couldn't have been responsible for this neither could an unawakened, it had to be someone who had a good experience with magic.
So his suspision hanged over every other awakened in the building.
He was commencing his investigation with the history teacher, Mr Austin.
It was awfully suspicious to find a teacher in the state he was yesterday. His unappealing appearance spoke more than just extravagance to Xavier, it also revealed ruggedity.
He had other suspects like the sword teacher, and others but Mr Austin seemed to helm more hope of being his culprit.
He rolled his cleaning equipment to the staffroom which for some reason wasn't locked the previous day.
He pulled on the door handle and entered inside before shutting the door behind him.
He was looking for Mr Austin's desk. He walked past a few before he found his.
He went through his drawers while still trying to appear as if he was cleaning the desk.
He pulled out a lot of files and bottles. His entire drawer was filled with unfinished paper works and alcohol. He searched some more to find any implicating evidence.
He soon heard sound coming from outside the staffroom. He had already spent too much time and needed to pack up.
As he stuffed in the files back into the drawer, an object fell from in between the files.
He didn't have time to look at it, he hurriedly picked it up and put it in his pocket before he concluded the cleanup.
The first teacher to enter the staffroom was Mr Austin. As he opened the door he walked up to his desk and greeted the janitor.
Xavier adjusted his cap before greeted him back before leaving. As he walked behind him, Mr Austin threw an eerie stare at him.
