The next step to his plan was to spread words of an assailant and intruder.
He shared the topic with a few of the Syllox staff to place it on the mouth of everyone.
If he wanted to draw out the culprit, he needed to use his own fear to draw him out.
He walked around some more and continued the chat till it was time for second period.
He walked to the Janitor's closet, placed the equipment back and changed back to Xavier.
He left the closet and ran to the hall to meet up with Mrs Lisa's class. That was a class he wouldn't like to miss for anything.
During his little sprint, he spotted the janitor he mimicked. It was good he managed to pin the exact time that particular janitor comes to school to know how long he would be working with his image.
He slowed down as he approached the hall.
Though he was early, all were already seated awaiting their teacher.
He managed to get a seat near Lyra as his pant slowly died down.
Mrs Lisa came into the class, greeted the class before picking up from where she stopped yesterday.
Xavier managed to use that period to cultivate and teach Lyra how to as well. Now, his mana core had gained some degree of maturity.
The class as expected was pleasant and it really did crack the hearts of many to see it come to an end.
It was break time and Xavier wondered theough the halls as the topic he managed to spread has now been also divulved to the students.
What the students said didn't matter to him.
He walked up to the staffroom and waited there pretending to be reading a book by the hallway.
What he needed was that conflicted look on Mr Austin's face to give him an assurance, ushering to the next phase of this plan.
He waited there and watched as the teachers vehemently discussed,.. but nothing. There was nothing. He didn't even seem to care.
All he did was sit back on his chair, taking in some alcohol and smiling.
Xavier was getting bored of his stakeout. His eyes streched through the staffroom window looking around for any clues that could expose him.
He was still attempting to get a glance when a scream came from the other end of the hall.
The sound ran a cold quiver through the spines of all that heard, leaving the residual eerieness lingering in the air.
"What could that be?", a teacher in the staffroom said.
Students began migrating to the source of the sound. The crowd of students clustering around the Janitor's closet.
Some teachers from the staffroom began digging through the students to get to the forefront of the crowd.
Xavier followed the teachers to get a good look at what was causing all the ruckus.
When the teachers saw what had happened, one let out a loud gasp as she covering her mouth with both her hands.
The view before them was unsettling.
Xavier now had had made it to the front and also shared in the horrible sighting as all now stared at the devastating appearance before them.
There was silence for a while. The teachers conflicted on what action to take next.
There was nothing that anyone could do but to mourn.
It was the janitor and he was dead. A stout dagger plunged in through the side of his neck as blood oozed out of the cut consuming the serenity of his apron.
After a brief session of unconscious silent mourning, Mrs Lisa began to do some damage control.
"Students, please kindly leave this area. There's nothing to see hear. It's time for your next lesson," she said with a cracking tone of sorrow detectable in her voice.
Xavier's eyes shone wide open. He couldn't believe it. He was dead.
The guy that he saw a few minutes ago laid a waste on the floor.
'That could have been me.'
He wept within himself for bringing this upon another person. The agony and guilt overwhelmed him. Droplets of tears ran down his face.
He clenched his chest to relieve his soul but it was just too much to helm.
"I swear that I'll bring justice and avenge him."
The bell had already rang and it was time for the next elective course of the week – Forge mastering.
He managed to pull himself together.
He looked on his comm to get the location of where the class will hold.
He got to the venue and noticed that they were fewer than the elective class of yesterday.
He accounted their deficient number to the incident that just occured. Some students who saw the bloody sight couldn't build the heart to go for class but spent their time reflecting in the library.
Forge mastering class was a bore for Xavier.
All the instructor did was to categorize weapons and state their strengths and weaknesses – something that he had already learnt yesterday during weapon classes.
He couldn't wait for the class to be over and as soon as it was, he dashed off regretting why he wasted his time on such a grueling art.
He decided to skip weapon class today. There was something he needed to do above all today and that was get some credits.
He marched to the Syllox Force managerial centre.
In there were weapons of different types lined up in increasing order of deadliness, towards the corner mages and soldiers performing basic drills and to the far end he spotted a registration booth.
He walked up to the booth and signed up to be a part of the Syllox Force and partake in their daily revenue.
As a bonus, he was given a complementary 50 credits for joining and was instructed to be present for their weekly drills.
He smiled upon receiving the credits and walked out of the room ecstatic and satisfied.
The job was not an easy one that is why it come with such high pay.
Members were expected to be in top shape at all times ready to fend off fiery darts of evil.
While the risk alone usually scares most people off, Xavier couldn't care less about that. He was storng so he could keep up with the rest, probably even do better.
What really piqued his interest was the income –100 credits a day.
'With that much money, I'll never be hungry again.'
Pondereing on the thought, he realized he hadn't had breakfast so he made his way to the cafeteria and ordered a sumptuous meal.
