The slightness fell over us in agony, and the people of Troy were scared for Briseis. What would he possibly want with her? Will he kill her in revenge or use her for his pleasure?
" I am leaving now to get her back. I will challenge him in battle for her," Hector says. "You are not going to win; just look at the injuries from today," our father says.
"I'll go."
"No, Paris, we need you here."
"Briseis will be okay, I believe he won't kill her," Hector Pipes up.
"We can't just do nothing, we can't," My Father says with disappointment all over his face.
"The time isn't right, she will come back. The gods will protect her." Achilles will be on Agamemnon's side, and sadly, that means we will have double the men against us, triple maybe. Let the Gods keep Briseis safe. We have the entire city to protect." I say these words, knowing that I will find a way to get her to safety somehow. Briseis has always been a very dear friend to me. She is funny and charming, the perfect princess in my eyes. We have so much fun together riding horses and learning how to shoot. The night sky turned dark, and the orange moon hung beautifully above. Closing my eyes, I prayed that the stress would escape me. This war was getting out of control, and it felt crazier by the minute. I felt her arms wrap around my waist, and I pulled her closer, holding her tightly.
My cheek rested against hers; it was so soft against my skin.
"Prince, I'm scared," she whispered.
"I won't let anyone hurt you," I promised.
"No, I'm afraid that our love will hurt everyone."
I bring my lips to hers, kissing her sweetly and savoring the taste of her lips, reminding me that this is worth fighting for. She was my happily ever after, after all this.
"Helen, everything will work out. Our army is stronger than anyone else's."
I kissed the girl I had risked everything for. Our love will heal our kingdom. Together, we will patch it up with the help of many princesses and princes we will make.
