It took about three or four hours, and the entire ship was reinforced.
At least now, they didn't have to worry about it disintegrating.
Soon, Rin spoke. "Let's go, we'll head towards the nearby sea area and see if we can find the right airflow."
He had initially planned to locate the trio who had guided Luffy to the Skypiea in the original storyline, but when he arrived, he found they weren't home. So, Rin assumed that they didn't know about his group's presence and were diving into the sea to search for it instead.
Not wanting to interfere with them, Rin decided to go on his own.
The three of them boarded the reinforced ship and sailed towards the nearby seas.
With no exact location, they simply kept drifting.
A full five hours passed, and by dusk, they had only covered about a third of the area.
"This can't continue," Rin muttered under his breath, "It's hard to locate without a proper guide. Do we have to head to the New World to reach the empty island?"
Right at that moment, Casa's voice interrupted his thoughts.
"Captain, look! What is that?"
Casa pointed in a certain direction.
Rin lifted his head, squinting to see what Casa was referring to. In the sea before them, a massive whirlpool had started to form. But this wasn't just any whirlpool it was spinning upward, not downward.
Rin's mind immediately flashed to the image of the Straw Hat Pirates soaring into the sky during the Skypiea arc. His eyes widened in excitement.
"This is too good! I can't believe we're so lucky it's the updraft!" Rin shouted, unable to contain his excitement. He knew exactly what it was: the Knock Up Stream, a rare natural phenomenon that could launch them straight to the Sky Island.
Without wasting time, Rin barked orders. "Hurry up, head towards it!"
"Yes, Captain," Casa said, understanding that the whirlpool was the key. He quickly adjusted the rudder, steering the ship toward the rising vortex.
Soon, they were right at the center of it.
Rin stuck his head over the edge and looked down. The whirlpool was speeding up, increasing in power and direction. He shouted, "Casa, Artoria, hold onto the handrails! We're going to fly!"
Before Rin even finished speaking, a loud "Boom" echoed as the ship was suddenly thrust upward with immense force.
The speed was overwhelming.
Both Casa and Artoria were momentarily caught off guard by the sudden change, but they quickly grabbed the handrails beside them as Rin had warned.
"What's happening?!" Casa shouted, gripping the ship tightly. He'd never encountered something like this before.
Rin held onto the armrest, barely keeping his balance. "It's the updraft! A natural phenomenon that can send us to Sky Island."
"This is incredible…" Artoria whispered in awe.
The ascent was rapid.
In just half an hour, the ship had risen high above the clouds, and the air became colder.
"Is this the empty island?" Casa asked, scanning their surroundings.
"Yes," Rin nodded, but his mind was already focused on something else. He had to figure out how to find Enel, the former god of Skypiea, and convince him to join them. Enel, though originally a resident of Birka, was now an unpredictable wild card in this timeline. Rin knew that one of the first steps in recruiting him would be defeating him in battle.
Remembering the power of Enel's Goro Goro no Mi (Rumble-Rumble Fruit), Rin shivered slightly. The thought of facing someone who could manipulate lightning on that scale wasn't comforting.
"But there's still time before the story's events unfold," Rin muttered to himself. "Enel shouldn't be as strong as he was in the original timeline. He might be on par with my current abilities, maybe even a little weaker."
Rin shook his head, refocusing. There was no point worrying about that right now.
Breaking the silence of Casa's wondering gaze, Rin spoke again. "Let's keep going. We'll pay the fee and head into the empty island, just like in the original story."
They sailed past the area where the sky folk collected fees from travelers—reminiscent of Skypiea's customs—and Rin paid the required amount, entering Skypiea proper.
They docked at a nearby island.
"Let's rest first," Rin said. "It's getting late, we'll talk tomorrow."
"Got it." Casa nodded.
Artoria also agreed and made her way to her quarters.
After returning to his own room, Rin wasn't in the mood for sleep. Instead, he focused and silently spoke in his mind, "System, open the package."
'Ding! Currently holding Daily Pack X13! Weekly Pack X2! Would you like to open them all?'
Without hesitation, Rin responded, "Of course."
The system's voice rang out.
'Ding-dong! Opening Daily Pack X13!'
'Ding – Congratulations to the host for obtaining: 100,000 Berries!'
'Ding – Congratulations to the host for obtaining: 100,000 Berries!'
'Ding – Congratulations to the host for obtaining: a bottle of champagne!'
'Ding – Congratulations to the host for obtaining: a bottle of wind oil essence!'
'Ding – Congratulations to the host for obtaining: Navy Six Style Iron Block!'
A flurry of prompts followed.
As usual, most of the items were either Berries or daily essentials, with the exception of the Navy Six Style - Iron Block technique. While it wasn't earth-shattering, it was useful.
"About what I expected, but it's not disappointing," Rin mused as he contemplated the Iron Block technique. It was one of the core techniques in the Navy Six Styles, known for its ability to withstand powerful impacts and deliver rapid counterattacks.
Once the daily packs were opened, the weekly packs were next.
Rin was curious, hoping for something truly valuable from the weekly packs.
He silently wished as the system prompt came again.
'Ding-dong! Opening Weekly Pack X2!'
'Ding – Congratulations to the host for obtaining the item…'
