[ Chapter I (1): "RULES FOR THE GAME" ]
[ "Excuse me..." ]
[ "But... W-what is this?" ]
Felix looks on in bewilderment, at the floating text in front of him.
At which that suddenly appeared in front of him, he steadied his breathing, stopping himself from yelling and alerting the party of Goblins feasting outside.
[ "What the..." ]
[ "T-this is..." ]
How do we put this into words?
Not real.
Hallucinations.
Or, is there really an omnipotent-being upstairs that looks on below. Just like how Felix looks below the Goblins.
He doesn't know.
Felix plays with the holographic image, swiping it to the left, then to the right. Then to the left again, in curiosity, as it hovers in a fixed point around him.
He tried throwing it away, but it didn't work. As the said holograph spins around him, making rounds, before ultimately stopping on his side.
He grabbed the holograph and fixed it in front of him, amused.
He looks on at the three simple dots. Wondering what class it'll give me, or what it deems to be the most appropriate class for him at the moment.
Class has different meanings, depending on what context it is used.
For example, class can be used to refer to a group of students learning together in a classroom.
Class can also be used to refer to people that have the same economic status, that is class.
Class can also refer to a rich person, someone who's suave, a gentleman, or someone who does things with precision and elegance that it deserves recognition.
That is the three uses of class.
But, there's a fourth and last use for the word class.
Class in the context of categorizing, that may be objects, elements, or even; in this case specifically, people.
But on how this... System categorizes people is beyond him, beyond Felix, as he only acquired such power, such ability seconds ago; not even minutes.
As he watches it, genuinely curious on why he has been chosen to be... A Player.
Does it have any connections with the monsters that shouldn't be.
Does it have any connections with the reality turning game-like by the minute, by the hour, by the day.
Does it have any connections with his salvation...
To be precise he doesn't know yet, that's why even though it felt like eternity he waited for the so-called holograph to reveal some information to him. Who's curious.
And before he knew it, answers struck;
[ PLAYER NO. 1 IS AWAKENED TO BE A NECROMANCER! ]
[ TO MUCH BETTER UNDERSTAND THE NECROMANCER CLASS, PLEASE LEVEL-UP DEAR PLAYER ]
[ INTEGRATING THE NECROMANCER'S SKILL... ]
[ ... ]
[ "Holy..." ]
He watches carefully.
Felix watches carefully with awe at how word-for-word, text-per-text.
At how this game-like concept, this text scatters his mind the more he reads on, and how it bugles it even.
Worse of it all, it— the System, doesn't even give him time to breathe in properly before shocking him with another blow.
Necromancer Class?
Necromancer's Skill?
A week ago monsters emerged out of nowhere and started terrorizing everyone, not just his city, not just his country; but the whole world, without care.
That sounded unrealistic.
But compared to this...
This holograph floating in front of him, talking to him.
Something that shouldn't even be.
Something his mind isn't capable of conjuring no matter how sleep deprived it is.
So he believes what it says to be true, albeit with a little reluctance due to it not showing him anything supernatural, other than this...
Like for example, bestowing him the supposed powers of a...
Necromancer, someone that supposedly wields death in their hands, the one who brings the deceased back to life.
From what he heard, from what he studied, and from what he knows little about Necromancy; the art that Necromancers practices is that. It's another term for witchcraft i.e it's viewed as evil, or bad, but other than that, nothing.
So even though he is excited about the prospect of being a Necromancer. He still doesn't understand what the hell a Necromancer actually means, or even how he would, and could wield his ability for the betterment of himself.
Especially now that he is near death's door— starving, isolated, thirsty, stuck, and if his guess is correct, hopefully not don't wish that on him, then he might be crazy.
So he waits in anticipation, and in fear, on what kind of skill would be given to him. And so that he may use it immediately, if he could, to ease his suspicions, or completely remove it if he could.
Hopefully the latter.
[ REANIMATION LVL. 1 ]
[ — THE SKILL ALLOWS A NECROMANCER TO REANIMATE THE DECEASED AND MAKE THEM DO HIS BIDDING, WHATEVER THAT MAY BE ]
[ — APPLICABLE TO LOW-TIER MONSTERS ONLY ]
[ — 0/3 ]
Reanimation.
He reads carefully about his skills description.
Realizing quickly, that yes, this ability is overpowered.
Heavily limited because it could only be used on "Low-Tier Monsters" whatever, and whoever could fit in that said category.
[ "What can fi-" ]
[ "Wait..." ]
In the span of a week, within the comfort of his room, Felix has encountered or witnessed numerous types of monsters.
They range from weird and unknown, or to familiar and known.
He had witnessed a group of Goblins, those being one of the most common, one currently stationed outside— but never alone.
In some cases he'll notice a wild Giant Boar running around, or is in the process of being hunted.
Bats, red ones, he doesn't know the purpose of theirs, or how they function. But in noticing them at night-time, he hid away, not wanting to know.
There are some cases of Giant Wolves hunting both on day, or night, in groups.
Mutated Rats that are glowing green, and are faster than the normal variants of it.
Blobs of Slime in the color of blue, green, red, white, purple, and other more colors that eat bones, leftover flesh, and metal.
Cockroaches that try to mimic a silhouette of men, awfully failing.
Birds with multiple heads, that eat humans.
Fishes with legs, how weird that may be.
Brutish green hulking monsters that look like Goblin, but not at all, from his knowledge of games he identified them as Orcs.
Rock monsters that vary in sizes, small, medium, large.
And many more other instances that made him fear whatever wrathful deity that is above.
Most monsters that came are known to him, using little knowledge of what he has of monsters.
But to some, he doesn't know at all.
But in using what little he does know. He could categorize them using what he knows they do, or the threat level in which they may, or may not have.
[ — kikiiikii! ]
He looked outside and spotted the group of Goblins still eating.
And from what he knows about such creatures, he could proudly categorize them as low-tier.
And if his theory is correct, then according to what the... System had said, they are available to be used for his Reanimation Ability.
[ "How do I use this?" ]
[ "H-hey, System." ]
[ "How do you work?" ]
He tapped on the holographic text, on the text, even spin it but nothing seems to work.
What lies in front of him is still the description of his skill, Reanimation. With no instruction on how to use the said skill.
As a last resort, Felix used his imagination.
Wanting the laid out carcasses of Goblins to wake-up.
[ REANIMATION LVL. 1 IS BEING USED BY PLAYER NO. 1 (FELIX HARP) ON GOBLIN (DECEASED) ]

[ INSUFFICIENT STORAGE! ]
Which thankfully, seems to work.
