Chapter 6 - [ Chapter V (5): "IIPIIPPP!" ]

[ Chapter V (5): "IIPIIPPP!" ]

There are numerous monsters throughout the world, some are evolved animals that became what they are due to reasons currently not known. But what is known is that, they now crave meat— humans to be precise.

A giant Blue Jay is such an example of this case.

[ "This damn bird...!" ]

Covering his face from rogue shards and sharpnels, Felix couldn't help but silently curse inside his head, as his hands get slightly damaged; bleeding, hit by a shard that implanted itself.

Standing in front of him is a giant blue jay who's peeking inside the room with one of its eyes. In seeing Felix it became agitated, flapping its wings, eyes slightly gaining veins, with it about to enter the small cramped room.

[ — iiiiiiiipiip! ]

But unknown to it, the man it wanted to eat so much is something, or someone it couldn't hurt no matter how hard it tries too— the reasons? The three small guards standing right behind him.

Something which the bird completely ignored due to them not releasing a scent that it craves, a scent that only humans share.

[ — iiiiiiiiippp! ]

[ CACKLE ]

About to enter the room, it was surprisingly pulled in instead of entering on its own accord. Looking closely, the bird could see three Goblins— increasingly blooded by both black and red blood the farther the bird looks.

Moderate, bloodied, and extremely bloodied.

Surprised, the bird was about to shake off the three small things but couldn't. In fear, it tried shaking them off harder, but couldn't no matter what it does.

Before ultimately;

[ — iiiiipppipipiip! ]

It was stabbed in the leg by the one in front, then pinned to the ground by the one behind. And finally, bitten in the neck by the most feral of the bunch— without care about feathers getting into its throat.

About to release an ear piercing shriek that could discombobulate anyone near its vicinity, the bird was stopped mid-action as it gets killed on the spot by the group of three small green colored monsters; the last thing it notices is them looking at it hungrily.

And cackling.

Felix the only human on the premise on the other hand couldn't help but be in awe of the synergy, of what was supposed to be normal fodder Goblins; that turns out to be not, as witnessed by him first hand.

And now gruesomely, he is personally witnessing the said Goblins eating the hapless bird that terrorized Felix since earlier. With what could be described as joy... Is that joy?!!

H-how is this even plausible, aren't they full?!!

Plenty of questions rang inside Felix's head, but he didn't voice any of it, too afraid of being eaten next by his familiars.

Even though the possibility of it happening is low, it still stands that there is a possibility of it happening.

So he kept his distance.

[ "Okay..." ]

As far away as he could...

[ CACKLE ]

[ CACKLE ]

Perhaps farther than this...

Felix sits on the corner of the room, not wanting to get out in fear of mutant rats still lingering; the body which is halfly eaten on the stairway being a deterent; looking at him with it's sole eye, the other having been eaten. So he stayed far away from the Goblins, but also not far away.

The fear stems from him knowing their capabilities.

And that includes killing a group of Goblins that they once belonged to. Eating a Giant Wolf's carcasses in minutes, with the Goblin carcasses being the appetizer.

They easily shrugged off stab wounds, and tanking any damage from all weapons that tried hurting them.

Exterminating unknown numbers of Black Rats, one reaching up to... What, a couple of feet tall.

And lastly enough, killing a giant bird that terrorized Felix with ease; one bird that could break windows down, one bird that is crazily abnormal, who craves human meat. That said bird is now being eaten by the said trio of Goblins, with twisted faces... That will haunt him in his dreams.

[ "Crazy..." ]

Is he the crazy one for creating these things.

Or are they the crazy ones because they can eat that much without looking full, or being full, or being dissatisfied with eating.

He could swear that these... Goblins, Reanimated ones could eat a thousand more giant birds, thousand more Giant Wolves, thousand more Black Rats, and thousand more of their kin with them not being close to being satisfied.

Hopefully they don't eat him.

But judging from how they acted since now, that they can be trusted; first of all they did whatever Felix wanted since earlier. Second of it all is that they jumped to his aide when needed, no questions asked. And lastly of it all, arguably the most important factor in this is that they aren't hostile to him who's a human.

From Goblins, morbid Wolves, human sized Cockroaches, blobs of jelly that is Slimes. Any and all foreign and domestic animals, and rock things that he knew off, and had witnessed personally— they all crave human meat, the bird also, the giant Blue Jay; now dead.

He personality witnessed them hunt humans, both old and young, with glee to their face, and some even doing it to what could be seen as a necessity— though he doesn't know exactly why. But the reason still stands, whatever monster there is, they crave humans, and will eat humans.

Except these Goblins... Which is special.

They having died before is now abnormal, an anomaly.

They having failed in hunting, or being a casualty in the hunt, died pitifully, ignored by their greedy kin who didn't bother helping them. Sure, they wouldn't have helped their kin either, but the fact their kin ignored them, deeply hurts them.

So in being given the chance to be Reanimated...

They didn't choose to be, but we're chosen by a higher power that gifted them the ability to perform their revenge. Killing their kin, and eating something so delicious to the fullest; may it be Goblin, Wolf, Rat, or bird meat, they delightfully ate all of it.

So unknown to Felix, the notorious higher power— a noobie Necromancer. These Goblins who have been given a second chance by his power, accidentally or not, to them Felix is the next closest thing to a deity to them.

[ "W-why are you guys looking at me like that..." ]

[ "P-please wipe that bl-blood...!" ]

[ "Do-don't come close." ]

In confusion, he looks at the Goblins who's bloodied, messed up, and what could be described by some as smiling, approaching him, only stopping when ordered too.

[ "D-don't eat me, I-I'm skinny." ]

But the Goblins trail of thoughts is not known to the terrified Felix.

What he knows of is that, he used his Necromancer powers on them when he was trying to test if it's true.

And subsequently used it at three Goblin carcasses, which later rose up, murdered everyone, ate everyone, and followed his command.

To what extent? Felix doesn't know, which is why he is so afraid.

Thinking that, after being ordered around so much, that the Goblins are now gonna kill him, a revolt to be precise...

Closing his eyes, he half expects to be devoured like those Goblins, Wolf, Black Rats, and Blue Jay that got into their way.

...

...

...

What's happening?

After many contemplation, Felix opened his eyes slowly, but was immediately greeted not by a giant bite in his head. But instead by the most bloodied Goblin offering to him what appears to be, the veiny eyes of the giant Blue Jay.

He looks at the Goblin's hand, then at the other two who's not moving and instead looking at him with what could be said to be awe. Then at the Goblin again, with this one cackling to itself.

[ "Uhhh..." ]

[ "Thanks?" ]

In not knowing what to do, he reluctantly accepts the gift.

Thankful that he isn't the one on the eating end.
