Chapter 13 - Chapter-13 Fight

Jay-jay's POV

Aries is seriously crazy. He didn't even tell me that my brother, Kuya Angelo, was at home. So that's why he picked me up from the classroom. Good thing Kuya didn't ask any questions.

Now, I was on my way to school, and Aries was giving me a ride again. As usual, he wasn't saying a word. I was staring out the window when I saw Ci-N walking.

His hands were in his pockets, and he was wearing a headset.

"STOP THE C—OUCH!" I hadn't even finished speaking when Aries slammed on the brakes.

I wasn't wearing a seatbelt, so I was thrown forward.

"What the fvck?! Do you really have to scream?!" he snapped at me.

Good thing there wasn't a car behind us.

"I'll just get off here," I said and stepped out of the car.

I didn't wait for his response and immediately ran toward Ci-N.

"Hey, Ci-N!" I called out and smacked his arm.

He glared at me but quickly smiled when he recognized me. He took off his headset. "Good morning!" he greeted with a smile.

Smiling again?!

I was ready to yell at him and scold him for skipping school, but my attention immediately shifted to his face.

"Holy... Ci! What happened to your face?!" I asked.

His lip was wounded and slightly swollen. There was a small bruise on the right side of his lip and another near his left eye. He also had a scrape on his left cheek.

"Uh... hehe... I fell off my bike," he said while scratching the back of his head.

Fell off his bike?! Is he serious? It's obvious he got into a fight.

"Yeah, sure..." was all I said before continuing to walk. He did the same.

"How's the classroom?" he asked.

It's fine… they're just acting crazier than ever.

"Same as always… except they haven't spoken to me for a week."

"Huh?!"

"Let me explain it for you," I said, clearing my throat as if preparing for a speech. "...My middle name is Fernandez." That was all I said, waiting to see if he'd get the hint.

But apparently, he's slow too. Maybe just explain it properly, Jay.

"And? So what?"

Oh, great. He doesn't even know Aries' last name.

"Aries is my cousin!" I quickly told him.

"Ahh—" He suddenly stopped and seemed to be thinking. I already knew what was coming.

"What? Are you going to avoid me too? Ignore me like the others?"

He suddenly smiled. "Of course not. Let's just pretend I don't know about that issue."

Ci-N's smile was contagious. I found myself smiling too.

We continued walking until we reached the school. I saw Aries leaning against his car, arms crossed, glaring at me. I quickly looked away. I couldn't blame him—I did jump out of the car earlier.

We were close to our building when Ci-N suddenly stopped. He was staring at a guy sitting on a tree branch.

"Who's that?" I asked.

"That's Calix… our classmate, duh," he answered.

I couldn't see the guy's face, and I didn't know his name. Maybe he was facing away from us. But I kept observing him.

Oh, right... He is our classmate.

"He never learns… It's like he didn't even sprain himself last time from hanging out there," Ci-N added.

"What? What happened?" I asked.

Sorry, but I was intrigued.

"He hurried down… and ended up falling straight to the ground, hitting his foot on a huge tree root."

"Ahh… but why was he even up there?"

"Who knows... Let's go," Ci-N said.

We started walking again. Somehow, this Calix guy seemed familiar. I just wasn't sure why. I hadn't gone far when I heard a name. And just like that, I knew why he seemed familiar.

"Mica! Wait up!"

The letter! The love letter I found on the second floor of our building. Was it theirs? What if—Stop!

You already have too much going on with Section E. Don't drag their love life into it! Oh, my brain worms were right! I shouldn't be meddling in their business.

Mind your own business… if you even have one.

"Hey, Jay-jay!" Ci-N called, snapping me back to reality.

"W-what?" I asked.

"You spaced out… what happened to you?" he asked.

"N-nothing… I just remembered something."

Ci-N just shrugged.

We were nearing our classroom when we saw our classmates in a commotion outside the room.

It looked like a fight was happening. Ci-N and I moved closer for a better look.

It was Keifer and another guy. Keifer was gripping the guy's collar. I could see his fury, but I couldn't clearly see who he was up against.

"Hey, bro… What's going on?" Ci-N asked one of our classmates.

"David's back… He wants to be the class president again, but of course, Keifer won't let that happen," our classmate replied, looking way too excited about the fight.

A fight and he's excited? Nice.

I tugged on Ci-N's sleeve. "Is that David?" I asked.

"Yeah…" Ci-N briefly answered.

I couldn't see his face properly because of our nosy classmates.

"I'm with Keifer!"

"Team David all the way!"

"500 on Keifer!"

"I'll bet 1000!"

Wow! Instead of stopping the fight, they were placing bets. Impressive!

I tugged at the edge of Ci-N's sleeve again and gestured that we should go inside the room. I had no intention of getting involved in the commotion.

That's right! Stay out of trouble!

I sat down at my seat. Since everyone was outside, I had the room to myself.

I noticed that they had put back the cardboard, tin sheets, and plywood barriers at the back, covering the stuff there again.

Tsk. So extra!

I felt someone enter the room, so I shifted my gaze to the front.

Pfftt! It was just Yuri.

He went straight to his seat at the back. We sat there for a few minutes, and for some reason, the brawl ended up inside the room.

Even our chaotic classmates followed them in. Punches were being thrown left and right. They kept knocking each other down and getting back up until Keifer stumbled and crashed into me, causing me to fall straight to the floor.

"Aarrgghhh… Ow!"

Keifer got up and went back to fighting, while I struggled to stand—only to have someone step on my hand.

Damn it!

"Ow! What the hell?!" I shouted.

I forced myself to get up quickly because I felt like a stampede was coming. I rubbed my hand where it had been stepped on.

Some tables and chairs had already been knocked over.

Ugh, I don't know… I was starting to get really annoyed. They were so loud, and it was giving me a headache. And I got even more pissed when I saw my bag looking like a dirty rag.

Son of a—!

"STOP IT ALREADY!" I shouted, but no one paid attention to me.

Ugh! You're all so annoying!

Before I even realized it, my hand had grabbed a chair and hurled it at the fighting guys.

Wait—! What did I just do?!

The fight came to a halt, and now everyone was staring at me.

Shit! You're in trouble now!

Keifer and David were both glaring at me. Crap! Even our classmates, who seemed to have been enjoying the fight, were now looking at me like I'd ruined the fun.

I heard someone chuckle quietly. It seemed to be Yuri since his shoulders were moving up and down, and he was covering his mouth while looking away.

I forced a smile and held up a peace sign with my fingers.

"The hell?! There's a girl here?!" David snapped angrily.

Oh, shut your mouth.

He was taller than Keifer but a bit skinny. He had a scar on his jaw and was somewhat pale. His looks were pretty average.

"Were you the one who threw the chair?!" Keifer asked angrily.

I was about to open my mouth to answer when Ci-N beat me to it.

"Yeah, it was her…" Ci-N said with a smile. I squinted at hIM.

Oh, how kind of you! May the Lord take you now.

Keifer immediately walked up to me and grabbed me by the collar. His eyes were blazing with anger.

"Ara—"

"You're such a busybody!" he shouted at me.

His face was so close to mine that I could smell his breath.

Minty.

Wait! Why am I even noticing that?!

I tried to pry his hands off me, but he just tightened his grip. Our classmates started to intervene.

"Hey, Keifer, she's a girl—"

"I don't care!" Keifer yelled.

"What the hell?! Your spit is getting on my face!" I complained.

"Oh, you're really asking for it—"

"Keifer! Let her go!" Yuri said.

"She's still a girl, dude!" Felix added.

"Let go of me! What's your problem?!" I shouted.

"I'm the one you should be fighting!" David chimed in.

"Choke her harder… hahaha," Ci-N joked.

"Let her go… just get back to fighting David," the rest of the class added.

Almost everyone was asking him to let me go. Keifer had no choice since the whole class was telling him to.

He let me go reluctantly but shot me a deadly glare before turning back to David.

He was about to throw another punch when Yuri suddenly spoke up.

"Let's just do a re-election on Monday to settle this!"

The whole class murmured in agreement, and Keifer seemed to consider it for a moment.

He looked at David.

"I'm in," David agreed.

"Fine… after class," Keifer added.

Some people were disappointed, while others agreed with the decision.

And then there were those who blamed me.

I might as well kill someone early today. I'll skin them alive for fun.
