After showering early in the morning I weared a grey bomber jacket, white t-shirt with black cargo pants, all designer. The bomber jacket was by far my favorite of all the clothes Alice gifted. Honestly feel like I'm lacking as a partner having not even given her roses. I don't know how but I'll makes sure to make it up to her in the future.
I made my way downstairs where I saw Charlie sitting on the couch asleep. He had his pistol in his holster and I realized dad must have guarded the front door all night. I leaned on the kitchen counter seeing this, moments like these my emotions were filled with love for that man. How could my mother leave Charlie was one of life's mysteries I could never understand. Even more mysterious was how Charlie kept on going in my eyes, what would I do if Alice left? I shook my head at the notion and decided to make a delicious breakfast for Charlie.
When the house was filled with the aroma of freshly made coffee Charlie woke up, "good morning Peter." He stretched trying to shake the sleep off him but I could tell he was fighting the urge to take a nap as he sat at the table.
He mumbled as I set the food on the table, "pancakes, sausages, eggs and fruit huh?"
"The least I could do."
He nodded not wanting to admit how much he worried for me throughout the night. As we ate he spoke, "how was the project with Alice Cullen."
"Great, she practically finished it all on her own, actually she did it. All I could do was offer an opinion on it."
He raised an eyebrow, "then what's your part in the whole project Peter, as your father I can't have you grow the habit of being lazy when it comes to work."
"I know dad but I doubt I could have helped with the whole ordeal. All she asked for, was for us to wear the suit and dress to prom. That was the deal with the teacher apparently."
I could feel the amusement in his tone, "since when does my son know how to dance?"
My eyebrow twitched at his remark, "I'm sure it's not that hard to do. I'll just do a couple of moves to a song make eye contact with the teacher, a quick get in, get out gig for a good mark. Simple and elegant."
Charlie smirked, "and where does your partner fit in this elaborate heist of yours?"
I finished my last bite of my pancake, I sighed, "my plan will probably fall apart when I she her in a dress."
"I understand that all to well." He chuckled.
By the time we finished Bella awoke and Charlie left for work. I waited for her at the table and noted how deep in thought she was as she ate.
Bella didn't speak a word during breakfast nor on our trip to school. When Bella parked she spoke, "go to class I have someone or something to do, just do me a favour and tell the school sectary I'll be late."
"Alright-", she didn't even hear me respond when she closed the door shut. I watched her walk towards the forest while Edward went after her. Sensing I was missing something I was going to make a move to follow them when I felt a presence next to my door. I glanced towards it and saw Emmett Cullen and Jasper Hale.
They were both grinning and gestured for me to get out of the truck. As soon as my feet touched the ground they wrapped their arms around my shoulders, "so Peter what are your intentions with our sweet and innocent sister?" Emmett said.
I tried to look towards Edward and Bella as they disappeared into the forest, "I was wondering about the same thing with Edward. Why don't we put this aside for a moment can't you see them growing alarmingly close."
As if I weighed a feather they moved me towards the entrance of the school despite me using my strength to push back. Jasper spoke, "I feel it's more concerning when my sister made us stay away from home for an entire evening. And for a man she's know for what? Half a semester, Edward at least takes relationships slow. The youth now don't even introduce themselves to the family before hand."
"Well then Peter how do we fix this? As Alice's brother it's my duty to test her partner don't you think?" Emmett said while smirking.
Before I could respond Alice appeared next to Jasper who was on my left, "Jasper, Emmett I see your getting along with Peter how lovely. Glad we're all getting along, it would be a tragedy if something where to happen." She whispered in Jasper's ear, too quiet for me to hear.
He dropped his arm from my shoulder and spoke, "well then Peter I'll see you later."
Jasper and Emmett started to walk away while Emmett still facing us, was grinning, "Alice I thought you were busy with Rosalie and Edythe. Don't tell me you couldn't wait to see dear Peter here. When did you become so concerned with the present?"
Seeing them leave Alice went to my side and took my hand in hers, "Emmett I won't help you plan your dates in the future if you continue to tease me." She yelled.
Emmett had a shit eating grin on him as he walked away, "Peter I'll see you later."
I looked towards Alice who was lost in thought, "Alice you alright?"
Alice looked towards me, a relieved expression on her face. She glanced towards the forest, "it appears Bella and Edward got over there 'problem'."
"What problem?"
I could see she debated on what to say, her eyes where golden today. My head turned away from hers instinctively, "that problem." She said.
Before she continued I guided her to the office and did what Bella asked. Students started gossiping as they saw us together. When we got out of the office I noticed Alice was silent.
"I'll see you later then."
"Ya see you later." Said Alice in a quiet voice.
Before she left I pulled her into a hug, "you didn't even say anything about my outfit, after all that painstaking effort."
Her mood improved at that remark, "the same could be said about you rabbit, not even a comment on how pretty or gorgeous I look. Perhaps I should have left you in Emmett's and Jasper's hands."
At the end of her sentence she tightened her hug, "could you promise me one thing Peter?"
Confused by her question I accepted, "of course what do you need."
"If I ever asked you to listen to my words until I finished speaking, would you hear or at least try to comprehend them."
She stared up at me and offered a smile after seeing my puzzled expression. I closed my eyes before she could make eye contact and felt her peck my lips. When I opened them she was gone. The bell rang and I realized that I was alone in the hallway. I ran towards my class and spent the first half of school trying to decipher how she left so fast. All I could come up with was the fact I was left in a romantic daze, knowing how absurd the thought was.
When I made it to lunch and entered the cafeteria I noticed everyone had their attention on one of the tables. There Bella and Edward were eating pizza. I looked towards the Cullens table and saw Rosalie alongside Edythe gleaming with anger. Emmett and Jasper had mixed emotions, somewhere along the lines of worry with annoyance. Alice was there as well, she saw me and gave me a weary smile. I could tell she was tired, of what I'm not sure, perhaps she was convincing the others of something unknown to me.
Then I saw Mike and Eric waving at me, I glanced at them when I felt a tug on my arm, it was Jessica.
"Hey Peter, come let's sit together at the table I've heard a rumor I wanted to discuss with you."
"Alright just let me get something to eat."
"No need I got you a sandwich, the one you always seem to eat."
"Oh thanks a lot Jessica, saves me from going in line."
She sat next to me at the table since Bella was with her situationship. I didn't even get a bite in when Eric and Mike started to integrate me, "is Bella in a project with Edward? I mean that would only make sense as to why she didn't sit with us."
"No idea Mike, one day they're all sad and moody about life wanting emotional support, the next day their insufferable, always making fun of the little guy you know?"
"So it's just a talking phase right?" Said Eric.
"Could be, in any case they look great together don't they, away from the masses where they can't annoy them."
"No!" Said Eric and Mike in unison.
I raised my eyebrow perplexed at their remark, they coughed "I mean as her brother shouldn't you keep her away from the Cullens you know protect and all."
I smiled and tipped my head the Cullens table in amusement, "I'll need help with the fight, I'll take Edward you two take Emmett and Jasper takes a photo with you two on the floor."
Mike showed slight annoyance to my joke, "and you think you could take on Edward?"
I gave them a serious expression and put a palm over my chest where my heart was, "for my sister I'll take on any motherfucker who tries to take her virtue!"
*bang* I felt a can of Pepsi hit my head and gazed at Bella who was red from embrassment. I shrugged and continued to eat my sandwich.
Jessica spoke low enough to make sure Bella couldn't hear, "then why don't you."
I sighed and stood up with my sandwich in hand. I walked towards Bella's table and sat next to her. Without looking I knew she wanted to see me ten feet in the ground.
Me and Edward stared at each other both with a slight grin on our faces, he spoke first, "it's rude to sit at a table uninvited Swan."
"Well this morning I was educated on courtship, Edward never introduced himself officially Bella. As your brother I grow worry in your choice of partners."
Before she could defend herself Edward spoke for her, "and I thought we came to an agreement the other day."
"Oh no Edward I didn't have the faintest of an idea you wished to be with my dear innocent sister, she can't take of herself. Did you know when she was 13-ouch!"
Bella pinched my stomach with all her might causing Edward to laugh, "I do now. But please Peter what about your relationship with Alice isn't it official?"
"Yes and before you continue, I already have been attacked in broad daylight by your brothers. Bella careful, who knows what might happen to you if Rosalie or Edythe catch you in a dark alleyway."
"What about me Peter?" Alice appeared and sat next to Edward, now it was an even match.
Bella chimed in, "don't worry Peter, Alice and me have nothing against each other. In fact we've grown quite close, to the point I share anything with her, right Alice?" She nodded enthusiastically, "when Peter was what, 13-15 not long ago he begged mom for a poster of Britney-"
"Alrightly! You win Bella no need to go all out, please." I could see Edward covering his mouth trying desperately to mask his laughter. Alice was smiling but I could tell she was fighting a small chuckle from covering her mouth.
The bell rang and I was the first to leave, "I'll remember this, cya Alice." I knew my cheeks were red.
I could hear Alice voice in the background, "please tell me more stories later Bella."
"Please do", chimed Edward.
Until the end of the day all I could think about was the new weapons of destruction Bella gave to Alice if she decided to tease me.
When I arrived to art class Alice was there already, she was drawing in her sketch book. I sat next to her trying not to make eye contact and watched as she drew a dress. Alice placed her head on my shoulder as she drew not saying a word. Class went by and we didn't speak a word yet it felt perfect just being together. School ended and we walked to the parking lot. Thankfully no one from the Cullens appeared to ambush me.
From a distance Rosalie waved to Alice to hop in to their car irritation spread all over her face, "I better go rabbit before she decides to cause a scene." She kissed my cheek and made her way to Rosalie.
The ride home was filled with Bella's squeals as she sang the lyrics of Britney Spears famous songs. When I got home I got a message from dad saying that he wouldn't be home in time for dinner and not to wait for him.
A small amount of fear began to take root in me on whether or not it had to do with yesterday's death. I spent the rest of the day doing homework and a workout in my room to take my mind of it. That night I struggled to sleep but at least I wasn't plagued with nightmares.
