Chapter 13 - Healing

Reign woke up quite early the following morning. He inspected his body closely, feeling a lot better than he had the previous day. He could tell that his wounds had improved significantly and maybe he would actually heal earlier than he had thought.

He then called out to Mirage in his mind, "Mirage, are you there?"

"Yes. It seems that essence crystal really benefited you. Your wounds have almost already healed "

"I Know." It was what he had hypothesized too.

He woke up, feeling no ache and carefully made his way outside. He appraised the scenery, appreciating how the early morning sun rays hit the forest at a precise angle, creating a breathtaking scene.

He took in a deep breath, feeling the cool fresh air around. It was the starkest reminder that he wasn't in earth. The air felt different, fresh, moist and filled with something different, mana.

A sweet voice caressed his ears, turning to the source he saw Ravena coming from the woods, basket in hand, "You are awake."

He nodded silently, she made her gracefully way towards him, a light smile on her face. "Let me check on your wounds. You should already be healed."

She lightly took his hand, leading him back inside. He followed her obediently, appreciating the care. As he did he could feel her scent, a calming scent of flowers and nature, mixed with something heady.

Reign noticed something weird, he seemed to have grown a bit taller. Ravena wasn't short by any means but as he followed her he noticed that she only came up to his chin. He also noticed that the ground seemed a bit further away than he remembered, could he have grown taller?

Ravena led him back into his room and sat him down on the bed, "Let's take of those wrappings."

She started by unwrapping his chest, he remembered that he had quite some quite deep slashes there from the panther's claws.

They had sunk into his chest and almost taken his life, as the bandages came off, he was completely shocked to find that there were no wounds left on his chest.

His chest was completely smooth and scar less, as if he had never been injured before. He felt a bit dazed, wasn't this world of magic too cool?

He looked up at Ravena, wondering if it was her doing. He was surprised to see a faint blush on her cheeks as she looked at his broad chest.

She noticed him looking and adopted a serious concentrating expression, though the blush on her cheek deepened.

That was another thing he had noticed, he had gained an uncannily fine physique. He had never stepped into a gym, but his chest was now ripped like a model, his abdomen spotted a block of ripped abs, each outlining itself.

He had gained a physique that was basically a bodybuilders dream, lean and outlined.

He came back to his senses when he felt Ravena unwind the bandages on his arm; his arm too had healed completely. There were no visible wounds from the arrow nor the panther bite.

He moved his hand around in wonder and Ravena couldn't help but smile at the awe on his face. She stood up and tidied the wrappings she then beckoned Reign, "come, I know you must be hungry."

She had hardly finished saying that when Reign's stomach choose to growl loudly as if in agreement. Her smile widened as she watched Reign's embarrassed face. He followed her into the room which smelled divine.

Reign entered the room then backed out to confirm it. He looked at Ravena quizzically since such a small cottage shouldn't be able to support such a huge room. Ravena saw this and said, "Space magic. I used it to extend the space."

In his mind, Mirage couldn't help but say, "it seems that she isn't an ordinary witch. One needs to be extremely talented to grasp space magic. It isn't something that ordinary spell casters can grasp."

Reign meanwhile felt that he was experiencing constant shocks throughout, he had seen the healing magic and now he was seeing space magic.

He felt an overwhelming urge to learn some.

After the meal, Ravena looked at Reign seriously, her demeanor solemn. This time she finally showed the traces a dignified spellcaster.

"When I was treating you, I noticed that your body has a potent dragon bloodline. It's extremely pure and strong. It's even stronger than some pure blooded dragons."

Reign looked at her curiously, he wondered where she was going with this. Ravena saw that Reign didn't seem surprised by this information. She really doubted this guy was as he said, an orphan turned adventurer. He definitely had a couple of secrets.

However she didn't mind his secrets. She was not an ordinary witch she had some techniques. she had looked into Reign's out of curiosity, and what she had seen had greatly surprised her. she was sure that someone whose fate and luck fluctuated so intensely definitely couldn't lack secrets.

The witch continued, "I need your help. I need to retrieve something from a location in the forest; this thing is extremely important to me." Reign listened to her seriously, though he still didn't see how this related to him. He didn't actually think that her, who mirage had said was a grand mage, needed his help.

Seemingly sensing his thoughts, Ravena said, "The item I want needs someone with a dragon bloodline to retrieve. I thought I would be stuck here for a while, who would have thought that you'd come along." Reign finally understood.

He had wondered why Ravena had brought his to her cottage and tended to him so well. It might be due to kindness but Reign doubted that she would do this for every tom, dick and harry she saved. He guessed that a part of it was definitely due to his bloodline. Ravena looked at him earnestly.

"Will you help me retrieve it? I promise to make it worth your while."

Reign considered for a while, Ravena had saved his life. He didn't think he could have survived in the forest with such intense injuries. Besides she had also repelled the baron's soldiers. So he definitely owed her a lot. He would be too ungrateful if he refused to assist her
