Vultra hesitated for a moment before responding, but when he finally did, a sly smile crept onto his face. "Let's go cause mayhem for the gods."
He and Leo prepared themselves, their energy sharpening like blades. Vultra turned to him, his voice filled with anticipation. "You ready to wreak havoc?"
Leo grinned, unwavering. "Don't worry. If things go south, we'll use that attack."
They both exchanged a mischievous look, grinning from ear to ear. Vultra nodded. "Alright, I'm opening the portal. Get ready."
With a surge of power, he tore open a dimensional rift, bridging his universe with the one that housed the gods. The portal shimmered, warping space and time, and as they crossed the threshold, Vultra looked at Leo, his expression turning serious. "There's no going back now."
Leo met his gaze with calm determination. "Good. I have no intention of cowering in fear just because someone's stronger than me. That's not who I am."
Vultra glanced at him for a moment, then thought to himself, This boy… he reminds me of myself back when I was with Fenrier. His thoughts were cut short when Leo nudged him.
"Bro, you spacing out on me?" Leo asked.
Vultra shook his head. "No, just… forget it. Let's move."
Using his chaotic energy, Vultra crafted advanced Assassin and Stealth skills for both of them. Leo, always the tech-savvy one, added his own enhancements by integrating cutting-edge technology into their skills, maxing out their capabilities.
They activated their usual form of transport—a form of high-speed flight powered by a blend of magic and technology—and soared toward the gods' realm.
What awaited them was not a battlefield, but a massacre.
The universal god had slain the other gods one by one before they could even arrive. Their bodies lay strewn across the divine grounds, a grotesque testament to the power he wielded.
Vultra froze as he took in the carnage, his eyes widening in shock. Flashbacks tore through his mind—visions of his own clan's slaughter at the hands of the gods. The screams. The blood. The helplessness. It all came flooding back. His thoughts spiraled as lightning erupted around them, rampaging through the skies in response to his rising emotions.
Leo noticed immediately. Vultra was on the verge of losing control.
Without hesitation, Leo prepared a talisman designed to suppress Vultra's rage. He held onto it, waiting for the right moment. He hadn't used it yet—he didn't want to, unless absolutely necessary.
The universal god, standing in the middle of the devastation, was gripping a badly injured Zeus by the throat. His gaze shifted, landing on Leo and Vultra. Vultra was stunned. But Leo remained focused, even though he had never felt a real connection to the gods.
That was until he saw Wukong.
Wukong, bloodied and barely standing, leaned on his staff for support, his life force flickering like a dying flame. That moment changed everything.
Leo bolted toward Wukong, activating his tech and magic simultaneously. His hands glowed with golden light as he began healing the fallen warrior, pouring energy into him to stabilize his vitals.
Zeus, barely conscious, coughed weakly. "Run… we'll handle him…"
The universal god laughed, his voice deep and condescending. "Oh? Have I struck a nerve?" He chuckled. "Well, it's not like I'm worried. You're all weaklings. I don't even need to try."
Unbeknownst to him, Leo had already begun setting the stage. He activated his domain—an intricate field of energy that subtly marked the universal god. The effect was immediate: a constant 50% reduction in the god's stats. Leo remained quiet, waiting for the perfect moment to spring the trap.
Meanwhile, Vultra was sinking deeper into his rage. His emotions spiraled out of control, and in the peak of his fury, a third eye burst open on his forehead. This eye pulsed with anti-universal magic—pure, chaotic energy that corrupted everything it touched. His power surged to new heights.
He locked eyes with the universal god.
Bloodlust consumed him.
In that instant, the gods' realm began to tremble. Space twisted unnaturally as Vultra conjured anti-black holes—beings of destruction that absorbed the very universe around them.
With a guttural roar, Vultra declared, "You will pay. I swear, you will pay for this!"
In a blink, he appeared in front of the universal god and grabbed him by the neck, lifting him off the ground as though he weighed nothing. In his palm, Vultra condensed a small anti-black hole, its dark energy swirling ominously.
The universal god sliced off his own hand to escape, but Leo was ready. At that exact moment, he triggered his trap. A surge of energy exploded, weakening the universal god and draining half of his power.
The god staggered. "What... what did you do to me?"
Leo replied, "Your window just closed. Now, Vultra—finish it."
As Leo turned his focus to healing the remaining gods, Vultra snapped. He entered an even deeper state of rage—a complete transformation into an anti-being. His form shifted, dark and unrecognizable, a walking embodiment of chaos.
He stepped slowly toward the weakened universal god, his eyes glowing with malevolence. The god knew—he was screwed.
Vultra lunged, choking him again. This time, he tore off both of the god's arms. But the universal god regenerated instantly. So did Vultra. In fact, Vultra grew additional arms—six in total—each restraining the god as he began to absorb him, piece by piece.
With every body part absorbed, the fabric of the universe shuddered. The balance tilted toward entropy.
Leo saw the signs—if this continued, reality would collapse. He had to act.
"I don't want to… but I have to," he muttered, launching himself toward Vultra.
Before he could reach him, Vultra caught him by the neck, trying to absorb him too. Leo activated his anti-armor, but it wasn't enough. Vultra's strength was overwhelming.
Leo struggled, barely managing to move his hand. With all his remaining strength, he slapped the seal onto Vultra's neck. The seal flared with divine chains and a gravitational force akin to a black hole. It began to drain Vultra's power, forcing him to release both Leo and the universal god.
Vultra clutched his head in pain, his bloodlust fading. Leo coughed and smiled. "Bro… that worked like a charm."
Gradually, Vultra regained control. The seal melted into his body, merging with his essence. Leo quickly checked the seal's condition with his tablet—it was working as expected.
Suddenly, the universal god began to cower. "Boss…" he stammered, his voice trembling.
Leo looked up.
The multiversal god had arrived, flanked by other universe gods. His aura silenced the realm.
"What is going on here?" he asked calmly.
The universal god bowed. "My lord, I—I was teaching my gods combat. A... flare-up during training... they died accidentally."
"Liar!" Leo snapped. "You're lying through your teeth."
"Oh?" the multiversal god asked, turning to Leo. "And who are you?"
"They're nobodies," the universal god cut in quickly.
"You dirty liar," Leo said, his eyes burning.
In a blink, the multiversal god sealed the universe off from the others. "He's lying. I can feel it. Tell me the truth."
Leo nodded. "It's a long story."
"I have time," the multiversal god said, flicking his fingers. Time itself froze.
Leo explained everything—from the beginning up to this exact moment. As he finished, he said, "And that's how you found me. Vultra would've fully absorbed him if not for the seal I created."
The multiversal god laughed. "You boys… You haven't had a moment of peace. I'll change that. You both have my blessing. I'll appoint a new universe god. Who do you suggest?"
Leo thought. "Two. Zeus and Buddha. They've held things together the best."
"Not a bad suggestion," the multiversal god nodded. "Done. Farewell, for now. I'll add a few tweaks to you both. Tell your people to come. I'll create a new planet for you all to start anew. Your powers will be sealed temporarily, but I won't leave you powerless."
He looked at Leo. "Your godly powers will be confined, replaced with a 'Multiversal God in Training' status. Your tech abilities? Upgraded—but they'll unlock as you age."
Then at Vultra: "Your chaos powers are too destructive. They'll be sealed too, replaced with a new ability. I'll make you two yin and yang—light and darkness. Friends and rivals."
"And Fenrier?" Leo asked.
"He'll be gifted to Vultra—not as a god, but as the werewolf god incarnate. He'll join you both later."
With a wave, blinding light filled the realm. Vultra levitated. All Leo heard was the multiversal god's laughter echoing through the light.
When Leo woke up, everything was different.
He sat up in a soft bed, in a room unfamiliar to him. He walked to a mirror and gasped. He was a different person—he looked like a child. Four years old, by his estimate.
"I wonder where Vultra is," he whispered.
The scene shifted to another town.
Vultra jolted awake in bed, groggy. He touched his neck—no seal. "What the hell did Leo do to me?"
He trudged to the bathroom, still half asleep. After relieving himself, he walked past a mirror and froze. He turned back, stared at his reflection.
"What the fuck?"
His parents rushed in. "Gale! Are you okay? We heard you scream!"
Vultra, now Gale, blinked. Then he started to speak.
The scene cut back to Leo. His new parents called out, "Nicole!"
He smirked. Wow, Vultra and I really think alike. We're definitely in a new world.
The multiversal god—Valse—was watching it all.
He turned to the captured universal god. "Bas… why did you toy with my creations just because I appointed you?"
Bas tried to respond, but Valse summoned anti-universal energy. "You've complicated my entire report," he sighed. "This power you feared so much… I'll use it now."
"Please, mercy!" Bas begged. "I'll do anything—!"
"It's too late," Valse said, waving. Guards dragged him away, screaming.
Valse looked out into the stars. "Those two… better to have them as allies than enemies. Their growth is terrifying."
As the scene shifted back to Leo and Vultra, now children in a new world, Valse's voice echoed:
"The future—or the destruction—of the multiverse lies in their hands."
And thus, a new beginning awaited Leo and Vultra.
Which path would they take?
Only time would tell.
Until then… stay tuned.
