Chapter 15 - Chapter Fifteen-Encounter with her ex

Sabrina decided it would be good to take some stroll outside after eating Naomi's dumplings.

No lies; her dumplings were delicious.

It seemed to have the same taste and aroma like the ones her mother had always made for her.

Naomi had fallen asleep shortly after they finished eating and, having no one to talk to, Sabrina thought it would be fun for her to take some walks outside.

Walk-passing an Italian restaurant, Sabrina was tempted between leaving or getting in to buy some Italian food as the strong, delicious tempting g aroma attacked her nostrils.

She'd just taken her lunch, but it won't hurt if she buy some foreign food, right?

She got in, selected some foods and made payment when she turned to see the last person she wished to bump into—Jason.

His mouth was agape as he stared at her, speechless.

His face was full of disbelief and shock, but few seconds later, it was replaced by anger.

"I have been calling you for like forever, why haven't you been picking my calls?."

Sabrina sneered and kept quiet. She made to leave, but he grabbed her hand.

Her expression slightly changed.

"Let go of me, Jason."

"Why haven't you been picking my calls?."

She pulled her hand from his grip angrily.

"Are you insane? Isn't it obvious I don't want to have anything to do with you?."

Sabrina hated his guts.

What was he thinking?

To even think of touching her?

Jason scoffed, "Because you're married to Lexis, you feel on top of the world now?."

He didn't like her arrogant attitude one bit.

He hated the looks she was giving him; looks of disgust and anger.

Like he was some dirts.

He tried to accept the fact that she was married to another man, a man way more powerful than him—so powerful he could control the whole city of Catalonia, Lexis Woodsman, but it stung him. She was his woman.

His woman that he carelessly let go.

And that bastard husband of hers has been making his company—the Kennedy's company to be crashing down.

Jason has worked nonstop for days, trying to partner with other companies but they all rejected him.

Stressed, he reached out to Sabrina, since she was the reason why Lexis was punishing him, but she never returned his calls. She never for a day, picked his calls.

Sabrina smiled truimphantly, "Ofcourse I feel on top of the world because my husband is literally the richest man in Catalonia and oh, I shouldn't forget to tell you, he is hellishly handsome and sweet, spending more than a million on me every 24 hours as it's requested of him as my husband." She bragged, enjoying the bittered expression on his face.

"Sabrina, alright, let's talk." He softened his tone. He knew how strong headed and stubborn Sabrina was. She wasn't someone who could tolerate being talked to harshly, or she would refuse to do what he needed her to do.

So he was faced with no choice but to lower himself.

His company was at stake.

"Talk about what?." Sabrina arched her brows, "Mr Kennedy, we don't know eachother, don't forget."

Jason tried to hold her hand but she dodged to a side. It was the same hand he had used to slap her on the day she caught him cheating. Jason's shoulder dropped at her action.

She had barely taken some steps away from him when he spoke, "it's something relating to Dad's health."

She paused, "What?," she faced him, "what do you mean? What's wrong with uncle Patrick?."

Jason held the smile trying to form in his lips. He knew if he involved his father, Sabrina would definitely give him listening eyes.

He was aware of the fondness she had for him.

His mother didn't like her much, but his father, Patrick, did.

"Dad fell sick shortly after the company started crashing down. Doctors said his blood pressure is getting high and the only way to make him better is by reducing the stress and make him stop overthinking. But how can he get well when he watches news everyday about the crisis of our company? Or when he'd call other companies to partner with him but they'll reject his order? How can he watch the company he built with his own sweat and struggle fold before his very own eyes?."

Sabrina looked away from him, lost in thoughts. What could she do?

"But…why are you meeting me? I mean, I don't know how to help regarding this."

"Lexis. Beg him please. He's the one responsible for all these happening."

"I don't know if I can do that." Sabrina shook her head. She and Lexis were husband and wife on paper. No commitment, no feelings attached. How could she talk to him on dropping his punishment on Jason and his family?

"You can." Jason pulled her hand into his, "please, talk some sense into him."

The plea and frustration in his eyes softened her heart a bit.

"Okay, I'll try," She pulled her hands out from his hold, "but don't hope on me."

Saying that, she walked away.

Jason watched as she retracted, her pear-figure catching his very attention.

No doubt, Sabrina was a very attractive woman, with long wild curly black hair and a pair of forest eyes, with tiny waist and curvy hips. She was far more prettier than Gina, who was an average beauty with excess bust.

He did have feelings for Sabrina. He still did. But her decency—her abstain from sex was something he hated.

Even her belief in 'marriage before sex.'

For years, she restrained him from touching her. The only times they would kiss would be when he complained bitterly about her decency, before she would give in.

He was sex starved.

Hence, when Gina had first lured him, he fell into her trap stupidly—by having sex with her.

As they say, forbidden fruit tastes the sweetest. He continued screwing her in secret until they were finally caught.

He regretted his actions, but it was too late.

He let out a sigh before walking away.

Unbeknownst to him, he didn't notice Gina standing outside by a corner, clenching her fists.

Damn Sabrina, she should stay away from her man.
