Thorne was now seen sleeping in his bed, exhausted from the day's training, when he sensed something with his observation haki. It was a person walking stealthily, trying to remain unseen, but failing to conceal their presence.
Marijoa didn't have many people left; the guards were all hunting the natives, protecting the Celestials who had participated. Only the slaves and their guards remained. Thorne, curious about the person sneaking around, left his bed and decided to follow them.
"Hmmm, is this Tiger?" Thorne said after approaching the person and seeing their complexion and color.
"Wait, is this the time when the slaves break free and burn Marijoa? Well, I guess I'll watch the whole thing happen," Thorne said, finally deciding not to interfere but would assist the slaves if needed.
Thorne then observed the person, using his Observation haki. He detected every person left in Marijoa, and there were only a few Celestial Dragons present. Even the Five Elders were not in Marijoa, possibly hunting the natives and watching who would be the next family winner.
"No wonder so many slaves got free this time. No God's Knights are in the vicinity, and only a few guards are here, perfect for an escape plan. Is it a coincidence, or did Tiger observe this?" Thorne thought, seeing Tiger free the first group of slaves, which consisted entirely of humans.
"I thought he was only here to free the fishermen; it seems he has a soft heart, especially for those who share his experience. Let me help you in this way," Thorne said, summoning a storm in the skies above Marijoa. It was full of thunder, masking any sounds the escaping slaves might make.
Tiger, noticing the storm, was glad as it would conceal any noise they made while freeing other slaves. He also couldn't help but notice that no guards were patrolling the streets.
"Alright, everyone, who here wants to accompany me in freeing other slaves? If you don't want to, just find a way for us to travel safely, and don't wander around so the guards won't notice us," Tiger whispered to the ten freed humans, all of whom were incredibly thankful and decided to join him in freeing more slaves. Tiger accepted their offered help, heading towards the prison where the slaves were kept.
It didn't take long for Tiger and the others to free the majority of the slaves, finding keys in most of the prison cells and shackles at the guards' house, which was left unattended due to their confidence that no one would escape.
The number of freed slaves reached several thousand, all brainstorming how to escape the Red Line. Thorne, watching this, couldn't help but think of a way for them to escape, too.
"If they used the Red Port, marines on both sides would notice them. If they jumped, there would be no guarantee of survival. Wait, what if I can do this?" Thorne then created small dragonic creatures made of pure storm clouds. Thorne made sure they were solid and could be ridden. He then made them bigger until he was sure each would hold 1000 slaves and sent them flying towards the storm to hide their presence.
The slaves, deciding they could escape by climbing down the Red Line wall where Tiger climbed up, realized that their large numbers would surely be seen by any guards. So, they planned to create diversions first, perhaps creating explosions on other sides to make noise while the slaves moved towards their escape route.
"Who wants to volunteer to go with me to create a diversion?" Tiger asked the slaves, who all hesitated, since it would attract the guards' attention, and they didn't want to be caught again.
"Why do you have to be the bait, brother Tiger? Let the useless humans create a diversion for us," a fishman said, looking down on the humans because they hadn't done anything to help them escape.
This escalated into a fight that created a lot of noise and disagreements until they decided to divide the slaves into two groups: those who wanted to go with Tiger and those who wanted to go directly to the walls to try and climb down.
The number of those who wanted to climb down was greater than those who went with Tiger, mainly composed of fishmen and some humans who wanted to stay with the fishmen for protection. There were also children, thankful for their saviors, and then they divided their numbers.
"What? Why are they dividing?" Thorne said to himself, noticing that they would travel in two routes. The humans who went directly for the Red Line wall were immediately seen by the guards, who notified others, creating a diversion for Tiger's group.
The slaves fought back, desperate for freedom, using everything around them, with some getting hold of explosives and igniting them towards the guards, creating chaos that would ensure the Celestials punished the guards.
"Hmmm, I guess the marines are coming now. It would be impossible for this kind of chaos not to be noticed by them. I guess Kizaru will be arriving now," Thorne thought, looking at the whole of Marijoa being covered in fire, with slaves scattered in every direction. Thorne then noticed three people coming towards his castle, not wanting their castle to be destroyed, and went to check it out.
When Thorne went to his castle to check on the three people, the marine reinforcements arrived, with Kizaru being the first to arrive due to his devil fruit's advantage. He then began picking off the slaves one by one, not caring whether it was the right thing to do or not.
After a while, Kizaru managed to round up the slaves. They then interrogated them about who the mastermind behind the escape was, and they immediately gave up the fishman's name and the direction they went. Kizaru then immediately moved in that direction, not doubting the words of desperate people.
On the other side of Marijoa, Tiger's group traveled smoothly towards the wall, thanks to the diversion on the other side that allowed them to arrive without any problems.
When they reached the furthest side of the wall, they began climbing down, with the children carried on the backs of the adults who went with them. Tiger, who was staying behind to assess the situation before climbing down, couldn't help but notice a light coming their way.
"Everyone hurry, someone is coming fast," Tiger said, warning the others about the impending doom.
"I must say, it's really inconvenient that you divided your group from the others. If you had just gone with them, the patrol should already be over by now," a tall, lanky figure with a lazy voice said, his suit colored yellow. It was Borsalino, still not promoted to Admiral.
Kizaru then started charging his attacks that would hit them when suddenly, lightning struck his position, which he caught in time and dodged.
Not knowing where it came from, he looked at the sky, where he saw a dragon-like creature made of clouds descend upon them, protecting the slaves climbing down. It fired another lightning strike towards Borsalino, who simply took the hit so he would have a reason to slack off and proceeded to act as if he had fainted.
The slaves who had not yet begun climbing down mounted the dragon, and those who had jumped onto its back when it reached the lower part of the wall.
"Who's helping us?" Tiger then thought as they were carried by the dragon to a remote island, far from Marijoa.
After the dragon like creature left, Kizaru suddenly stood up, looking at the sky, knowing that someone was helping them, but did not know who it was.
On the other side of Marijoa, a few minutes after Kizaru left, the captured slaves were now desperate, not wanting to go back. They were being guarded by marines and guards, but suddenly, a sharp lightning bolt hit the ground, striking one of the guards. This was followed by another blast of lightning that precisely hit each and every one of the guards, not killing them but merely incapacitating them.
It was then revealed that a dragon-like creature made of clouds appeared. It was the same as the one that rescued Tiger's group, but much smaller in size. This smaller size, however, was compensated by its number; where there was only one in Tiger's group, here there were ten dragon-like creatures.
They summoned a small lightning attack that targeted their shackles and handcuffs, completely destroying them without harming the slaves. The dragons then lowered their backs to allow the slaves to mount them.
From that moment on, one by one, these dragon-like creatures flew towards the sky, carrying the freed slaves to various islands, giving them a second chance at life and freedom. However, the damage that slavery had inflicted would always remain.
