Ryuji knew where Zenitsu Agatsuma's mind had wandered, but he didn't think Zenitsu was a pervert. After all, Zenitsu was in his adolescence and naturally curious and yearning for romantic relationships.
Ryuji understood that Zenitsu was a simple-minded good kid. Though sometimes a bit lacking, it was precisely because of this that Ryuji was willing to be friends with him.
"Alright! Since we've bumped into each other, let's work together! Let's go ask the villagers for information!" Ryuji steered the conversation back to the main topic, suggesting they ask the villagers for information.
To prevent Zenitsu from harassing other young women, Ryuji chose to have them work together.
After inquiring, they didn't find any useful information. The village was peaceful, and no one had gone missing.
Zenitsu, somewhat tired, leaned against a large tree outside the village to rest. He complained to Ryuji, "Ryuji, I'm so hungry! Do you have any food?"
Ryuji looked at Tanjiro and gave him a nod. Tanjiro immediately took out the dried fish he had been carrying and handed it to Zenitsu.
"Thanks!" Zenitsu thanked Tanjiro, took the dried fish, and began to eat.
After eating a few pieces, Zenitsu noticed that Ryuji and Tanjiro weren't eating. He asked, "Aren't you guys eating?"
"The food's all in your hands. How are we supposed to eat?" Tanjiro grumbled.
Zenitsu then divided the dried fish in half and gave some back to Tanjiro.
Ryuji took out his own portion. He wasn't as hungry as Zenitsu, so he ate slowly and sparingly.
Tanjiro, having given half his dried fish to Zenitsu, didn't eat all of his, only a little to satisfy his hunger.
Zenitsu didn't care and quickly devoured all the dried fish in his hands. Satisfied, he stretched, leaned against the tree, and instantly fell asleep.
Seeing this, Tanjiro was speechless. He wanted to slap Zenitsu awake! Eating and sleeping like a pig!
However, Tanjiro only thought about it and didn't actually do it.
Ryuji didn't mind; it didn't affect him. But when Zenitsu started snoring a second later, Ryuji felt the urge to punch him.
Ryuji couldn't stand annoying noises. The {Water Demon} clone who liked to grind its teeth had been instantly beheaded by Ryuji because of its irritating grinding sound.
Fortunately, Zenitsu wasn't a {demon}, otherwise he might have really died under Ryuji's sword.
Ryuji could only endure Zenitsu's snoring. Tanjiro's tolerance for noise was much higher than Ryuji's, so he didn't mind Zenitsu's snoring at all.
"Ryuji, should we conduct a thorough search of the South-Southeast area next?" Tanjiro asked Ryuji.
Having found no useful information in the village, a thorough search was the next logical step.
