Chapter 2 - HE'S A JERK

YOU FOUND YOUR MATE!' A shrill female voice echoed through the forest of the Tungsten Park.

A group of teens sat together in the middle of the forest. A bubbly young girl wearing a beautiful cherry pink sundress stood in the middle of the youth circle, looking like she was about to burst with excitement.

The atmosphere in the group was chaotic, to say the least; no one shared the same mood about the news.

The closest to the bubbly girl was a young woman, barely eighteen, who sat to the girl's left.

She was a natural beauty, with her sharp features and naturally pink lips. Her lean and masculine physique made it clear she was the athletic type.

She was dressed in a cropped, long-sleeve zip-up jacket paired with high-wasted jogger pants, with her hair in a ponytail. She sat casually leaning on a tree, a sweet smile gracing her lips.

Across from her, to the right of the bubbly girl, were two young men. One was dressed in a black hoodie and sweatpants. An array of beautiful black and silver jewellery decorated his arms and neck.

He had numerous piercings on his ears and one on his lip, also covered by silver and black earrings and a lip ring.

His pale skin gave his look an emo vibe. His face was devoid of emotion; his emerald eyes, on the other hand, were ablaze with pure, undisguised displeasure.

At his side, a young, long-legged man sat. he seemed to be completely unsubscribed from the conversation, his eye fixed on his cell phone where he furiously played a game. His headphones which releasing sounds that resembled gunshots.

His thin lips were pursed in concentration, his chiselled jaw clenching every once in a while. His blue eyes were narrowed as he focused on the game.

He was dressed in a plain white T-shirt coupled with a pair of ripped blue jeans. The only jewellery he wore was a simple silver chain.

In front of the bubbly girl was an other worldly beauty. Her gaze was cold and unwavering. She sat perched on her tree in a baggily dark-grey T-shirt and marching baggy shorts. Her marble skin glittered under the sun's light. She exuded an air of dominance and grace, even in her simple outfits.

Unable to hold herself back lunged at the cold-faced girl attempting to extract all the information about the previous night's encounter.

She shamelessly clung to the cold girl, refusing to let go. Turning to the athletic girl who was thoroughly amused by the interaction, she gave her a signal to get the excited girl away.

Like a flash, the bubbly girl was practically ripped away from the cold girl.

'Jemma, let me go. I want to know what happened,' the babbly girl struggled to set herself free from the athletic girl's embrace.

'Calm down, Ciera. I'm sure Fei is going to tell us anyway,' she emphasized every word, throwing a pointed glance to the cold-faced girl. It was clear she wanted to know, too.

'Okay, I'll tell you guys.' Fei said. Her voice was smooth, seductive and clear. Everybody turned their attention to her, even the furious gamer threw side long glances at her showing that he was paying attention.

'During yesterday's mission,' she began. Her tone became pointed as she glared at the emo guy as she continued, 'due to someone's miscalculations, I found myself in a bit of trouble.'

The emo guy clasped his hand in apology, throwing her a pitiful gaze. She nodded to him in acceptance.

'As the Gary Moon packs warriors were chasing me, I found out that one of them was my mate.' Pausing slightly to let her words sink in

'It was there, Alfa.'

Ciera jumped up again, slipping out of Jemma's arms and again latching herself onto Fei again.

Fei didn't even try to resist, resigning herself to her fate.

'Congratulations, love,' she said joyfully,' come on show some enthusiasm. You just met you Saul mate for gob sake' she said while furiously shaking the poor girl.

For werewolves, a mate is a destined partner made for wolf by the moon goddess, the creator of the werewolf kind. The lives of mates are intertwined, woven by threads of fate. Usually, one can only have one in a lifetime; having a second chance mate is as rare as a blue moon.

Fei didn't say a word, looking as listless as before. Seeing that she wasn't getting through to Fei, with a look of exasperation plastered on her face, Ciera stopped her furious attack, slumping into Fei's arms.

'Fei,' Ciera called out with an exaggerated pout on her face. 'Aren't you supposed to be more excited? This is your mate were talking about,' she said while giving Fei a pitiful look, like a confused pappy.

Fei couldn't help but ruffle her hair for how cute she was being.

Frowning, she detached herself from Fei's arms as she fixed her hair. I mean, when Karl met Jackson, he practically screamed with joy,' Ciera continued, making the emo guy blush.

Jackson, still focused on his phone, smirked.

'What kind of reaction is this?' she said while furiously shaking Fei, as if the action would make excitement magically manifest in the girl.

Jackson took off his headphones, catching the movement paying attention to him.

He only took his headphones off when he needed to say something important.

Without a single word, he turned his phone screen to face the others.

Jemma's popcorn, which she had managed to get for herself during Ciera's performance, fell to the ground.

Everyone looked like they had been hit by lightning.

On the screen the image of a silver haired man holding a stunning brunette was displayed. They were intertwined in a passionate kiss.

Ciera's face darkened, her eyes turned a brilliant amber, it was clear she was ready to kill.

'HE IS A COMPLETE JERK' she spat out her voice blending with that of her wolf.
