Vesper raised his head to see a girl with fiery red hair walking towards him. Beside her, a boy that looked like her, and had the same hair color was staring at Vesper with a scrutinising gaze.
"It is pure luck, princess, I am equally surprised." Vesper said.
"You say you are surprised, but your expression remains the same, surely you jest Vesper." Morgana replied as she stopped in front of Vesper.
"Dear sister, why don't you come for a training mission with us by dusk tomorrow." Morgan, said as he looked at Aurora.
Aurora looked at Morgana and Morgan and then shook her head, just as she was about to reply to Morgan's request, Vespers' voice sounded.
"Aurora and I would come with both of you. I would like to train myself a bit before going to the war front." He said.
Morgan looked at Vesper, and then Morgana, who nodded towards him.
"Very well then, we will meet at this place tomorrow at dusk." He said and turned to walk away. Morgana let out a smile as she looked at Vesper before walking with him.
Damian then looked at Vesper and said, "We should battle again before you go to the war front."
"Alright then, I will let you know once I am ready." Vesper replied as he turned and walked away with Aurora.
As they walked, Aurora gazed at Vesper with a complicated expression, "Brother, why did you agree to Morgan's request, you need to recover fully."
"Aurora, you should not think of restricting your training because you are worried about me, knowing Morgan and Morgana, they only asked you to join them because they wanted you to grow your strength as a fellow fire user, nothing more. Besides, on the war front, your enemies won't give you breaks. The only reason why his Majesty wants me to go is to protect Jonathan, knowing that battle maniac, he would surely put himself in danger for the thrill of the fight." Vesper replied.
Aurora looked at Vesper and turned her head, walking with him till they got to his room, then she bid him farewell as she left for her room.
In one of the rooms in the palace, Anna stared at the open courtyard through her windows. In the room, Marcus stood behind her and let out a sigh as he hugged her from behind.
"Anna, I know you do not like the child, but I have to honour my words, soon you will not see him. If he succeeds well in this war, I will give him the title of a Baron and let him live on the northern side of Velentia." Marcus said.
"I do not like the idea of him growing up into nobility. Let him serve the Empire in the northern borders. Only then would I feel okay." She said.
"That is too much, he has suffered a lot as a child. You should not treat him like this." Marcus said.
"One year at the northern borders, nothing less, I would not feel at peace." Anna was adamant on letting him serve in the northern borders.
"Anna" Marcus called her.
"I have allowed a lot of things to happen, Marcus, such as you marrying her and all, can it be that you can not honour my request, after I have fought and bled for you so that you can take over this empire." Anna said, looking at Marcus' gaze.
Anna was the first wife of Marcus, then when he was a King, he and Anna, together, conquered all the kingdoms at their borders and merged them to form the Velentia Empire.
None of his wives dared to make casual requests from him, but Anna was different, she was his most precious wife, and he did not want to do anything to displease her.
"Fine, but it will only be for a year, then I would grant him the title of Viscount." Marcus said with a tone that left no room for discussion.
"Also, I would let Theo's actions slide. Just this time, a royalty or nobility must value their words more than gold. There will be no mercy next time." Marcus said.
"I will personally handle Theo, even if I hate that child Vesper, Theo can not bring me any shame." Anna replied.
Marcus nodded at her and walked away.
In Vespers' room he stood in front of Erebus, holding the halberd. He looked at it and wondered why Erebus said it was important.
"You seem to not believe me. Fine, I will help you this time. I will only grant you knowledge, but you know they say knowledge is power." Erebus said and snapped his fingers.
Vesper heard a shattering sound and all the information that had been sealed came back flooding into him, then he realised the true worth of the halberd in his hands.
This was no ordinary weapon, it was a weapon that was going to be bound to him, a life-bound weapon, one that would never break nor be lost, and this halberd was made of star dust, one of the strongest metals in the realm.
"You should start training now that you have access to your mana, your basic element is space, but now you have the darkness element, only train that when you are alone or when you have mastered the art of magic circles, all the knowledge you need is in your mind, the gods are having a meeting and I would not be able to communicate with you for the next three years, within this time frame, I want you to become strong, here." Erebus said as he stretched forth his hands.
Vesper felt comfort as the room grew darker and the air became chillier, then Erebus moved his hands and all the darkness came together, forming into two stick-like materials.
Then Erebus waved his hands as the objects let out a glow. Stretching his hands forth, he asked Vesper to hold the objects and imagine how he wanted them. Vesper did as instructed, and then he felt his body grow weaker, his hands started to lose their color and the objects became more defined.
Erebus allowed this to happen for some time before releasing a grey aura on the newly formed Katanas, then everything became still for a few seconds before the katanas glowed and dimmed.
"Check your new pair of life weapons", Erebus said.
Vesper held the two katanas and felt a connection with them. He looked at their scabbard and hilt, then he left them in the air looking at them, as they floated before him.
Drawing the weapon out of his scabbard, its blade was silver and dim, just like the halberd. Vesper looked at Erebus and said with a smile.
"Thank you father."
Erebus smiled and nodded, then he said, "For now do not use these weapons unless you have grown into the Master rank, they will dry your mana before you even unleash a move. Also, I would advise you to train and awaken your latent talent. As a Weapon master, you will need to train in every weapon, until you master at least their intent."
"Alright, I will see you in three years. Be sure to train your space element and open your personal space. That should not take you up to three months. Your talent right now surpasses any human, so I expect you to grow fast."
"Before I forget, let me keep these." Erebus said and took the katanas and placed them in Vespers' shadow.
"You will be able to bring them out when you master your darkness element."
With that, Erebus vanished, and the room returned to its brighter shade. Vesper smiled and looked outside before looking at the halberd in the room.
He picked up the halberd and sat on his bed, then pricked his thumb with the halberd and let his blood flow on it.
Vesper muttered some strange words and the halberd shone with a silver light. Fortunately, Erebus left a small circle around the room, a magic circle that prevented mana flow from being discovered.
While in his study, Marcus saw a flash of light that quickly disappeared, and then he turned his head and stared at Vespers' room, and then he vanished.
