Chapter 6 - Chapter 6: Foundation of Grigori and Aura the Guillotine

After taking a look at the basic magic book, Sanguinius finally decided to leave the room in the deepest part of the cave.

"This book is damn thick, but that makes sense given its content."

The book hidden in his clothes contains the introduction and basics related to all existing magic in the current DxD universe.

This object is an important treasure for a person in his situation.

Sanguinius understands the underlying principle of magic in the DxD universe, but he lacks elements or knowledge to apply his theories.

His case is similar to that of a talented programmer who doesn't possess all the elements of a programming language.

He can execute certain tricks easily and understands how he arrived at the result, but that's the limit without all the basic elements.

'If I gather enough points and buy the advanced versions of this book, then I could probably develop my own magical system.'

A situation similar to that of a mathematician who develops his own methods to solve problems based on his pre-established knowledge.

An example of a similar case in the DxD universe would be Merlin, who used the devils' magical system to build the human one.

"Are you finished?" Mittelt's soft and cute voice pulled him from his thoughts.

Sanguinius involuntarily frowned while looking at her current face, as she wore a slightly stressed expression while glancing toward the exit.

'I was too immersed in the group chat, to the point of not noticing the main group of fallen angels moving quickly...'

"Yes, I'm done here," he said, before leaving a rune on the ground.

He wasn't an expert in runic magic, but he knew a bit after reading a few passages about it in his book, and this mark was within the reach of any beginner.

'It would be a shame to completely abandon this place.'

Finally, the two men deployed their dark wings before taking off into the crimson sky of the underworld at an incredible speed.

...

"Mittelt!!!"

It didn't take long for the duo to arrive at a temporary camp created by the fallen angels in the underworld.

Once they landed, they were greeted by an acquaintance of Mittelt.

'I really am in DxD...' Involuntarily, Sanguinius swallowed his saliva while observing the enormous mountains of flesh in front of him.

"Kalawarna, I'm happy to see you."

Yes, the tall woman in front of them is a character from the DxD anime, aka Kalawarna, future subordinate of Raynare.

Given their interaction, Sanguinius concluded that she already seems to have a certain level of friendship with Mittelt.

"Who's the man with you?" As they exchanged greetings and some pleasantries, the conversation suddenly turned to him.

"He is... my direct superior."

Mittelt's response unconsciously drew a satisfied smile to Sanguinius's lips.

'Excellent, she recognizes my status, not just by words, but also by actions, and officially.'

"Superior? You've joined his faction?" she said, casting a discreet glance toward Sanguinius's wings, before slightly frowning.

This action was quick and subtle, but it didn't escape the blonde angel.

"Faction? What's that all about?" Mittelt was confused by Kalawarna's words, and Sanguinius already had a small idea.

"Lord Azazel has decided to create another faction within the biblical pantheon, outside of our Father and Lucifer," she said calmly, before explaining the distribution of roles in the organization named Grigori.

'I see... Azazel is on the move again.'

This was both good and bad news for Sanguinius.

He isn't really a subordinate of Azazel in his heart.

He's just with the other fallen to avoid trouble by wandering alone without support.

Thus, this disparate but unified state of the fallen angels is ideal for his ambitions, and he had estimated that the diplomacy between Azazel and Lucifer was going to buy him time.

'Azazel must have accelerated things or acted quickly because of an element that I forgot... No, not forgotten, but underestimated.'

Lucifer.

Azazel must have consolidated his reign over the fallen angels because of this psychopath, which explains his quick and effective decisions despite the still fragile mental state of the freshly banished angels.

If this assumption of Sanguinius is correct, then Azazel indeed made the right decision. And he also prefers this turn of events.

'Better to have this ass-obsessed guy as leader than a megalomaniac psychopath...'

Although the original Lucifer is a born leader, he is more dangerous to handle than Azazel, from Sanguinius's point of view.

"That's how Grigori is divided."

"I better understand your question... Oh, I almost forgot, but which faction within Grigori are you in, Kalawarna?"

Faced with her friend's question, the blue-haired fallen angel seemed slightly downcast before opening her mouth:

"I'm in Kokabiel's faction, an important executive in the organization... but I'm not qualified to receive his direct orders."

From her tone of voice, Kalawarna seems to hate her location and situation, but she still seems proud to specify Kokabiel's role within Grigori.

"Kokabiel? I'd advise you to look to Baraquiel's side," Sanguinius advised after listening to the conversation.

He wasn't doing this out of pure kindness or because of the enormous pieces of flesh that served as breasts for this woman... ahem.

He simply wanted to return the kindness received from Kalawarna, aka the information obtained.

Certainly, he could have obtained this by asking anyone in the camp, but it could have exposed their disappearance with Mittelt.

That could become awkward in this kind of situation.

"Why do you say that?" She was slightly surprised by Sanguinius's sudden intervention in the conversation, but she made an effort to regain control of her voice, which had slightly betrayed her emotions.

Sanguinius shrugged before walking toward a slightly isolated area of the camp.

But he left a few words for the duo:

"When you get tired of being a background character, you can ask Mittelt for my location."

"Who does he think he is?" Sanguinius ignored the last remark and unfortunately didn't see the comic scene unfolding behind him.

A Mittelt who was holding back a raging Kalawarna by the waist.

Normally, an angel of Kalawarna's rank would never have behaved like this toward Sanguinius, but things were different at the moment.

She had support behind her, and they were no longer in heaven, but in the underworld.

"1000!!"

Bam

In a white room whose floor and ceiling were engraved with magical runes of Nordic inspiration, a man with long blonde hair, covered in sweat, was lying on the ground.

It was Sanguinius, the fallen angel with two pairs of wings... at least, before.

Many things had happened during these last few months, despite the little activity in the dimensional group chat or in the DxD world.

"Mittelt!!!"

"Yes, yes!"

At his call, the small blonde loli rushed over with a towel and a strange pouch.

Of course, Sanguinius had deactivated the gravitational field that filled the room with pressure ten times higher than normal, while rarefying the air to simulate a high altitude.

"Thanks again for your assistance," he said, taking a pill with a strong smell before drinking a reddish liquid.

"I'm the one who should thank you, Lord Sanguinius," Mittelt declared in a slightly embarrassed tone.

Unlike Kalawarna, she hadn't joined any faction of Grigori and continued to follow Sanguinius.

'The Lord trains extremely hard, but...'

Despite the use of Taoist magic, or more precisely its alchemical aspect, and Spartan training, Sanguinius had only managed to make a new pair of wings appear, bringing his total to six.

Close... but still far from Kokabiel and Baraquiel with their ten wings.

'I underestimated the slowness of the power evolution of angels....'

Unlike Issei Hyoudou, who is helped by demonic energy and his emotions, Sanguinius could only count on his knowledge and harsh training.

'I need to go to the Konosuba universe quickly... Classical training and Taoist magic are not enough.'

Sanguinius had already contacted Kazuma recently, but the latter seemed less desperate than his original version.

So he had to abandon the plan to push him to summon him into his dimension by using his poverty.

Sanguinius had rather decided to slowly become friends with him, before directly asking him for a meeting between "friends."

[The Guillotine: ... I need help and it's urgent]

[The Red Empress: You? Asking for help?]

[The Red Empress: I never thought I'd see that from you, given how you look down on humans here.]

[The Guillotine: You are weak... at least, usually.]

[Leader of the Gender Equality Sect (administrator): Serves you right, damn demonic loli.]

[Leader of the Gender Equality Sect (administrator): And given your embarrassment, I'm willing to bet that the "hero" and his companions are about to fall on you.]

[The Guillotine: Since when do you have the gift of clairvoyance, stupid human?]

[The Man Stuck in the Rocky Mountains: No need for the gift of clairvoyance to guess who's been looking for trouble or who is potentially your enemy.]

[The Man Stuck in the Rocky Mountains: Your boss is literally called "Demon Lord," and who says Demon Lord says Hero!! You're screwed, lol.]

[Leader of the Gender Equality Sect (administrator): Serves you right. That bitch has only brought us trouble at the last meeting. If it wasn't for Aqua...]

[Random Soldier of Cadia: ... One fucking xeno less, one.]

[The Guillotine: ... Ok. I'll try not to use my magic on you anymore. And especially not on you, Ryu. So... can you help me?]

[The Guillotine: Himmel is literally on my tail. With that crazy Frieren.]

[The Red Empress: ...]

[Leader of the Gender Equality Sect (administrator): ... ;)]

[The Man Stuck in the Rocky Mountains: ... Deal with it yourself, slaver .]

[I am just THE dragon: As you treat humans like game, you must also face the cruelty of nature.]

[The False Light of Baal: Summon me...]
