Chapter 20 - Chapter 20: A World Where Monsters and Heroes CoexistIs

Is Yamcha Strong?

From Captain Leopard's perspective, Yamcha might already be beyond the realm of ordinary humans—a true powerhouse. However, Yamcha himself knew the truth. Not only was he far from being able to match the top-tier beings of this world, but even on Earth, he was hardly remarkable. He wasn't even close to qualifying as a "strong fighter."

Captain Leopard sighed with slight regret, "If only General Silver were here."

Captain Leopard's direct superior was General Silver, one of the many generals of the Red Ribbon Army. He was also one of the few leaders within the army who preferred to take the lead on the battlefield.

"General Silver?"

Seeing Yamcha's curiosity, Captain Leopard immediately became excited. "Yes! He's a boxing expert in the Red Ribbon Army, and he admires strong warriors above all else. I'm sure he would like you."

"Although you're very strong, little brother, General Silver is even stronger," Captain Leopard added with a serious expression. His admiration for General Silver bordered on worship.

Perhaps, in Captain Leopard's mind, General Silver was the strongest human he knew. However, from Yamcha's perspective, this so-called "General Silver" was nowhere near the level of the true martial arts masters on Earth. Yamcha didn't even feel the slightest interest in meeting him.

In fact, if Yamcha truly wanted to challenge strong fighters, the simplest way was to seek out the legendary Fortune Teller Baba. She was the sister of the martial arts god, Master Roshi, and had the ability to freely travel between the worlds of the living and the dead. Around her, a gathering of extraordinary warriors existed.

They were absolute top-tier fighters on Earth.

However, with his current strength, Yamcha knew he would be brutally beaten if he challenged any of Baba's fighters. He had enough self-awareness to recognize that.

He wouldn't even pass the first round. Take the Bat Demon, for example—though he was defeated rather quickly due to his weakness against garlic and crosses, he still managed to defeat Krillin, who had made it to the quarterfinals of the World Martial Arts Tournament.

Without continuing the discussion about General Silver, Yamcha, seeing that no worthy opponents remained, boarded the latest jet-powered flying car and returned to his home in the Great Desert.

He had purchased the car through the Red Ribbon Army. Not only that, but he now carried a belt full of the latest capsule technology. Inside were all sorts of items—houses, vehicles, weapons—practically everything one could need.

He was fully prepared for anything.

After organizing some of his belongings, Yamcha resumed his usual training of staring at the "box." His telekinesis training was barely satisfactory, but his teleportation training still needed more work.

By the way, Puar had left after spending a week with Yamcha and was now studying at a transformation school. The school was a closed-off institution.

An hour later, Yamcha stretched his body and stood up.

"It seems that if I want to learn truly powerful martial arts, I'll have to find a way to travel to other worlds."

When thinking about strong martial arts, the first thing that popped into Yamcha's mind was a song lyric:

"You are already dead!"

Although it was labeled an assassination technique, in reality, it was an all-out, direct combat super-destructive fist—Hokuto Shinken!

Shaking his head, Yamcha dismissed the thought. "The danger level is too high, so I'll have to pass on that for now. At the very least, I need to be strong enough to protect myself. A peaceful world would be ideal."

The world of Fist of the North Star wasn't just chaotic—it was extremely chaotic. In that world, most people had lost their moral compass. For the sake of survival, they would do anything.

Soon, another world appeared in Yamcha's mind.

A high school student who transformed into a girl when splashed with cold water and turned back into a boy when doused with hot water…

Ranma ½.

This world was set in modern times, during an era of peace. There weren't too many dangers—he just needed to be careful not to fall into any of those strange cursed springs.

However, the martial arts in that world weren't particularly lethal.

But that wasn't the biggest issue.

The real problem was—he had no way of getting there.

Yamcha sighed. He still hadn't fully mastered his innate ability. If he could teleport wherever he wanted at will, this power could be practically invincible.

As long as he reacted fast enough, in theory, no one could hit him.

What other martial arts styles were there? Pegasus Meteor Fist?

Just as Yamcha's mind wandered, a sudden inspiration struck him.

"I think I know where I should go to learn martial arts."

However, he needed to shift the timeline back a little first. Otherwise, that world would also be too dangerous.

Without wasting time, Yamcha gathered his gear.

Fully prepared—he set off.

The next moment, he vanished from his original location.

Infinite Worlds, Infinite Possibilities

Infinite possibilities lead to infinite choices. Within those choices, countless paths unfold.

If you had the power to travel freely between worlds…

Where would you go?

What would you want to obtain?

Would it be limitless wealth? Unquestioned admiration from beautiful women? Supreme power? Absolute strength? Or perhaps… endless lifespan?

Yamcha's answer was simple and unpretentious—

He just wanted to survive, drink with the Z Fighters, find a beautiful girl he liked, get married, have children, spar with every major villain in Dragon Ball history… and live through the entire Dragon Ball timeline without dying even once.

The last two goals? Definitely SSSSS-tier difficulty.

A Modern Yet Fantastical World

This was a world set in modern times, with civilian technology roughly equivalent to the 21st century. However, this world also had countless advanced technologies.

There were no countries here. Instead, the world was divided into cities labeled with letters from A to Z.

Originally, this world was not much different from Earth in other dimensions. But one day, a few years ago, everything changed.

Among humans, some individuals began mutating due to certain peculiar obsessions or extreme stress.

For example, someone with an extreme love for shrimp might mutate into a shrimp-like creature. A person obsessed with eating live octopuses might grow octopus-like appendages or even become a humanoid octopus.

In short, these people started to look nothing like normal humans.

The people of this world collectively referred to these mutated beings as "Monsters."

As time passed, these monsters grew stronger and took on increasingly bizarre forms. Eventually, their species expanded beyond just mutated humans. Any sentient being that abandoned human identity or no longer fit within human definitions could be considered a monster.

However, they all shared one common trait—

A deep hatred for humanity.

They all sought the destruction of mankind.

A bizarre world…

A world where heroes and monsters coexisted.

But that was a story for the future.

At this moment, the profession of "Hero" had not yet been born.

The monsters were only in their early awakening stages. Many still believed themselves to be human and continued living their daily lives as if nothing had changed.
