Chapter 27 - Ayu moment with Aunt Yumi

The rain appeared to be easing, and it had already been two hours since Ayu and Fuuto had stayed at Daisuke's residence. However, before two hours had passed, Ren had already returned home to take a warm shower. As she was on her way home, she had become slightly wet. Fortunately, her teacher permitted her to borrow the umbrella, as her car was parked close to the school. The teacher preferred to get a little wet from the rain rather than let Ren borrow the umbrella.

Upon arriving home, Ren took a shower. She had not seen Ayu or Fuuto and simply wanted to avoid getting sick. As she took her time showering, she dried herself and her hair to ensure her health. Ayu enjoyed drinking Aunt Yumi's tea, while Fuuto enjoyed the view of the rain as he read. Aunt Yumi also enjoyed her tea, reading a book of a romance story. She was saddened by the story, as she had never had the opportunity to marry, have children, or build a family. However, she was content with her current life, as she had Ren and Daisuke, whom she considered her children. She loved them dearly and cared deeply for them.

During her high school years, Ren had been in a relationship with a boy. Unfortunately, he had to move to the United States, where his father had secured a good job. After that, Ren lost interest in dating, not because he had moved to the USA with his parents, but because she had grown tired of the dating scene. Interestingly, Aunt Yumi has never disclosed the reason for her aversion to dating, which has left some people puzzled. Ayu desired to engage in a conversation with Aunt Yumi, who serves as a maternal figure to Daisuke.

Her primary objective was to establish meaningful and enjoyable exchanges.

"Excuse me, Miss Ito," Ayu began a conversation with aunt Yumi as she moved her finger. She was slightly nervous to talk to her because it was her first time having a conversation alone with her. On the other hand, Aunt Yumi was sipping her tea and looked directly at Ayu when she called her.

"My last name is not Ito; it's Yagami. You can call me Yumi; I don't mind calling my first name. I feel old, which I am," Aunt Yumi said with a smile as she placed the book on the table.

"Wait, you don't even look that old! You look like a young teenager, like twenty-seven years old," Ayu was surprised when Aunt Yumi told her that she was old.

"Aww, thank you, but unfortunately, I'm forty years old," Aunt Yumi replied.

"Oh my gosh, you're forty? I don't believe you. What cream do you use? Are you a vampire?" Ayu had so many questions that she just needed to know how to look so young.

"Easy there, and I don't know. I just keep leaving. I guess," Aunt Yumi said.

"I hope I can look young like you in the future," Ayu said.

"Oh, you would don't worry," Aunt Yumi said.

Suddenly, they both giggled. Ayu felt a bit down.

"What's wrong, Ayu? Is it that you're worried about Daisuke?" Aunt Yumi asked as she put her hand on Ayu's shoulder.

"Yeah, I just hope he feels better. It made me worry that when he got in the bathroom, he was shivering and scared as if he saw something or I didn't know. And in the end, his eyes looked like they were empty," Ayu said, her hands trembling.

"Don't worry, sweetheart. Daisuke is strong. I guarantee you that when he wakes up tomorrow, he will be okay in no time," Aunt Yumi said, trying to reassure Ayu and make her feel better.

"Um, is it okay if I can see how he's doing? I just want to see him for a little," Ayu asked, looking at Aunt Yumi with a pleading expression.

Certainly, here's the edited version of the provided text

"Certainly, sweetheart. An hour ago, I placed a small towel on Daisuke's head. I intended to change the towel and apply water to it before placing it back on his head. Would you be able to assist me with that, please?"

"Yes, I would be happy to do that. Thank you," Ayu replied, as she proceeded to Daisuke's room.

As Ayu entered Daisuke's room, she gently knocked on the door to ascertain if Daisuke was awake.

"Daisuke, may I enter?" Ayu inquired, but there was silence. She slowly opened the door, mindful of making no noise, as she could hear Daisuke's labored breathing. As she approached Daisuke, she observed him swearing and not wearing a shirt. The cover was slightly down, revealing Daisuke's pack chest. Ayu felt her cheeks flush and blushed, prompting her to slap her face.

"Ayu, this is not the time to dwell on the necessity of changing the towels and applying water, as Yumi instructed me," Ayu whispered to herself. Consequently, she retrieved the towel Daisuke was wearing and began wiping his perspiration, including his arms and chest, while trying to control her blushing. She then proceeded to the bathroom, twisting the towel to extract the sweat and turning on the water to warm and cool it. Returning to Daisuke's room, she placed the clean towel with a small amount of water on his four heads.

"A-Ayu…" Daisuke was sleep-talking.

"I wager he is dreaming about me. I am curious about the nature of his dreams," Ayu thought to herself. Ayu kissed Daisuke's cheek, feeling a sense of relief as she finally saw him. As she was about to leave the room, Daisuke unexpectedly grabbed Ayu's hand with a firm grip.

"Huh, Ngh," Ayu attempted to remove Daisuke's hand, but it was too risky due to his strength. The peculiar aspect was that he was doing this while asleep. Ayu was terrified as she exerted all her efforts to remove Daisuke's hand, who was holding her. Suddenly, as Ayu struggled, Daisuke released her, and Ayu fell to the floor. She saw Daisuke lying on his side with his arm down the bed, still asleep. Terrified by what had just transpired, Ayu quickly left Daisuke's room.
